Honey baked Ham and Turkey

Recommended Posts

So this morning we picked up our ham and turkey breast around 8 o'clock , short version, we left them in the car until around 4 o'clock. Survey is safe to eat or not. They were in the back seat of the car all that time!

It really sucks to lose that much food but I don't think I would chance it.  Today was a warm day so those very likely got above 40-degrees and that's when bacteria starts doing their thing.

The only way to be safe would be to cook each until internal temperature was above 165 degrees Fahrenheit (USDA spec is 160* for pork and 165* for turkey) and I would suspect that as both of those are already cooked, that would just ruin them further.

The ham has been cooked, smell it good after 3 days in the frig. Throw the turkey out and buy a new one.

Thanks, it sure was painful, all new ham and turkey in fridge! We knew that was the right thing to do. Honey baked did help us out some and they didn't have to!

What's the worst that could happen....you end up quickly evacuating that big Thanksgiving meal and don't gain a bunch of weight. At least that's how I always look at the risk of a stomach virus. HBH is delicious, I would risk it all day long and twice on Thanksgiving.

I like the HB Ham, but I have to say the crusty smoked turkey from them is my favorite.

Popeye's used to sell some delicious turkeys, not sure if they still do that or not. Big Shakes down in Franklin is supposed to have some awesome spicy turkeys, but doing a solo day tomorrow and couldn't justify the $50 cost cause most of it would end up being tossed.
