What I know:

It's a Remington Navy 38 rimfire cartridge conversion. The serial number is 4477 1. I don't know why there's a space in it. It's tight as a new one.

What I think:

The grips appear to be period ivory.

What I'd love to know:

What is it? The barrel address isn't correct for a Beal's model, but without the 1, the serial number is.

Was it in the Civil War?

Is it an actual Remington conversion, or an aftermarket conversion.

I sure wish it could talk.
