Appraisals in the Nashville area

I have a couple of handguns and rifles that are old and/or oddballs that I would like to find out if they have any significant value, not necessarily a written appraisal.

Anyone have a shop or individual in the Nashville area they recommend for this. Everything is from the 1940's - 1960's.

Thanks

I generally use gunbroker as  guide. If you can find someone selling one like you have, you'll see what they're asking. Then watch to see if it actually sells at that price.

If you use gunbroker, go to advanced settings then completed items.  That way you search for completed auctions and see what the items actually sold for instead of what people are asking.

Gun stores will generally "appraise" a firearm as what they'd give you for it, which is almost always an uber scalping.

Yep, guns are only worth what people will actually pay for them, not what a book says.

Best bet is to post some pics and descriptions here. There are enough collectors and good folk on here that will give you an honest opinion. The better the pics, the better the opinion. Dittos on the GB completed auctions.
