How does a Glock work?

No, I'm not kidding.

I'm wanting to know how the barrel locks into battery. Is it purely the breech block locking into the ejection port of the slide, or is there another lockup point?

I'm asking, because I'm trying to figure out if I can use a 6" Glock 40 barrel in my 3-and-a-bit" 29. The idea(s) being to

A.) Give me a HIGH powered, light weight pistol for hunting hogs in the Florida palmettoes (literally, hands & knees stuff)

B.) Save me having to buy a 40 :D

It only locks up on the breach block in the ejection port, but it is critical that the barrel diameter at the front of the slide is the same on both barrels. if it's not lockup will not be correct.

My understanding is the g29 use a barrel with different size lugs than the G20/G40. There for it will not work.

I know this to be true with with the 40/9mm pistols. The full size and compact models use a different lug size.

I learned this the hard way.

For the 9mms isn't it you can use the 17 barrel on a 26 but can't use the 19 barrel on either?

The G17 barrel will not work in a G19 or G26.

The G19 barrel will work in a G26.
