Shane K. posted an event in Community Calendar
untilThis course picks up where Close Range Rifle/Carbine I left off. We will be taking a more in-depth look at the 50 yard and in, close range problem set. This course will augment and add to the skills learned in the previous course. Rifle marksmanship and manipulations will continue to be emphasized, with the implementation of critical thinking and problem-solving. Simple and complexed malfunctions will be addressed, along with instituting movement and shooting, unorthodox and bi-lateral shooting, use of cover and barricades are some of the topics that will be covered during this coursework. With the uncertain times that we are seeing in our country today, the ability to employ a rifle/carbine in the protection of yourself and loved ones is an important skill to master and integrate into your personal protective system. If you are operating with a Red Dot or LPVO, Back-Up sights are highly recommended. See you on the range! Always Vigilant, Always Prepared! Personal Survival Solutions Shane & Calley Kerwin-

untilIf there is an emergency, would you know what to do to save a life? This is a course of instruction in emergency medical care during a hostile/critical incident. Topics include austere medical interventions in a dynamic environment and how its focus differs from the civil model, with scene evaluation, remote assessment and triage, movement of patients, management of weapons and gear under threat. Students will conduct patient evaluation, utilizing S-MARCH/5-B’s sequence of treatment with corrective intervention and support. Additionally, students will learn to recognize and treat shock, as well as participation in hands-on practical scenarios that require them to utilize the skills they have learned under stress. We hope to see you in the classroom! Always Vigilant, Always Prepared! Personal Survival Solutions Shane & Calley Kerwin

Wrote a post on this tonight and thought I would share it and my back up math. http://leveledsurvival.com/2018/03/15/bugging-out-to-the-woods/ Just to extrapolate since someone (not on TGO) said it was "not that bad", I did some math: Shtf and the population of Nashville TN (684,410) decides to spread out over 100 square miles. Let's say 50% make it and not count the previous population of those 100 square miles. That leaves 3,422 people per square mile. Even if that was virgin land, no way could it sustain them. Even at 1000 miles that is 342 per square mile. Tucon AZ at 50% over 1000 square miles is 265 per square mile. Upscale this to some place like New York City. 8.538 million people at 50% over 1000 square miles is 4269 people per square mile. It is a concern if you do the math. All those people that survive have to go somewhere.

Had to waited around at a Cracker Barrel today. Anyone else noticed how many useful things they have hung from the walls and ceiling? I know most would need a good oiling or sharpening, but axes, pitchforks, scythe, and knives are there. Plus a ton of churns and other "household" items that would be in demand if we reverted to the 19th century. I just think it pays to keep your eyes open. I had looked before, but a lot I used to see there seemed on its last leg or bad reproductions.
