  1. Thanks for the offer, but no thanks.
  2. So, apparently there are two different type of retainer caps that go on the front gas block to hold the front of the handguard:round and triangular. Fortunately, I learned this before I ordered the mid length SL magpul handguard. But I learned it after I bought the SL stock, pistol grip, and mid length upper receiver(triangular cap). I really liked the look of the SL handguard, but, unless I change the retainer cap, I am simply out of luck. The MOE is alright... Rant concluded.

  4. Very valid point. I am a cheapskate and it is good to hear these thoughts. Thanks
  5. Thanks for all the suggestions! I am tempted to put a carry handle on it, or the UTG.
  6. So, I assembled my lower without any trouble, I ordered a midlength upper from PSA, and now I need a rear sight. I don't have an AR with iron sights, so this one is not going to get an optic. I am looking for suggestions on reasonably priced(cheap) rear sights that are not too cheap. I don't think I want a folding sight like a magpul or anything. What have y'all had good luck with? Thanks, Brooks

It is making a little mess in the driveway, but nothing I can't live with. It is leaking, I don't think it is burning it. It is a 2001 model with 270,000 miles. Today was the first time I really crawled around under it and looked. I am not really knowledgeable about car repair, but it does not look like the rear main seal. The oil looks like it is coming from above that area. Valve cover gaskets, if I am lucky. I am not real motivated to fix it, but I will poke around under the hood later. It has a skid plate, which I will have to remove to get a better look. Thanks for the advice!

I have an old chevy tahoe that leaks a little oil. I have heard people say "I don't change the oil, just the filter every six months" I have always thought that was just lazy, until today when that is what I did. I have had the tahoe about two months, used three quarts, and gone about two thousand miles. I need a couple of you guys to tell me to quit being a lazy bum, or if just changing the filter is acceptable. Thanks, Brooks
  9. Sorry. God bless you.
  10. Hmmm, I have never taken that apart. Is that common to need attention?
  11. What are those little black pins with a half oval removed for? On the bottom in the middle
  12. I did not have an accidental detent discharge tonight, but I am sure I will.
  13. Never mind, I figured it out. THANKS ALOT TGO!
  14. And done! Thanks for the help. I put it together at the kitchen table on two towels. No mag block. Went real smooth. I am concerned about one little thing: the front pivot pin/takedown pin is very tough to seat. I can push it all the way in with my hands, but to pull it out I have to use a punch and hammer. And that is without an upper on it. Any suggestions?
  15. What if I suffocate?
  16. Well, I have finally decided to build a lower for an AR. I got my stripped lower and my parts kit is supposed to arrive today. I got the PSA lower parts kit with magpul SL furniture. I keep looking out the window hoping to see that UPS truck. Does anyone have an opinion on the best video on YouTube for assembling this? I have watched one or two and I am convinced I can do this, just looking for the best direction. Thanks, Brooks
  17. I just picked one up from the regal range. It might have been the last one, but that seemed very reasonable. I have never put a lower together, but one of the rifle kits from PSA will probably find it's way to my house in the next few months. Also, a very nice gun store with a really friendly staff. They said the range itself is still several months away.
  18. If everybody saying something is awesome is the measure of being awesome, then this thread is awesome. I have a different measure. This thread is mediocre at best. One guy speaking his mind(or trolling, I don't know), a bunch of guys calling him names, a bunch of other guys encouraging it. This feels mean.
  19. So you're saying, Colt filed for bankruptcy?
  20. What FFL do y'all use around Nashville for these?
  21. I'm not greedy, I just want more.... Brother can't make it, I'm on the fence. Thanks, Brooks
