  1. Yeah see i like the looks of the cap and ball guns, but i definitely don't want the hassle of cleaning the powder residue or having to apply that gunk into the cylinder to keep from firing off the other rounds. Thats why I'm asking about it. I don't want to own a gun that I dread the reloading and clean up process.

    WWII Rifles

    That would be awesome!
  3. Well perhaps it was just quicker for them to carry more cylinders instead of trying to reload one.
  4. I was wondering what model of pistol was made that had the look of the old cap and ball revolvers but used cartridges instead of breech loading? Or were guns like that just converted and not a production model?
  5. Hi friend, I just bought a 91/30 Mosin Nagant from Tri CIties Gun Depot in Elizabethton. It is in very good shape bore wise and the stock looks damn fine too. They are priced there for $125. They gave me the sling, 2 ammo pouches, a bayonet, and the tool kit. Most of the ones I looked at were 1943r, and some had all matching numbers and a few others had been re-stamped to match. All of them were in excellent shape. However, some had considerably more cosmoline present than others. Hope this helps!
  6. That may actually have just helped...it was already pretty tight but the rear screw still turned some and for the moment it seems to have worked.
  7. I'll check that right now thanks.
  8. I have a Mosin that I acquired recently and have not shot yet. I noticed that the entire action and barrel are slightly loose in the stock. I can tilt it down and the weight shifts forward and the same backwards. Any suggestions as to if this is bad or how to fix this?

    SR9c

Is there anybody in the Tri-Cities area that has an SR9 or SR40 that would let me shoot it? I keep hearing and seeing all these great reviews about its trigger pull and handling, and I may want to get one for a first pistol. And also since its my first one, should I go immediately for the compact size or full size?

Does anybody know if there is a company that makes reproduction BARs and any of the other harder to find WWII guns?
  14. Definitely a shame all our old vets are fading away.

  16. Much appreciated man!
  17. My friend has a 1911 Rubin Schmidt that shoots 7.5x55 and a 1916 Swedish Mauser that shoots 6.5x55. We have just given up on trying to find ammo for them in our region of east TN. So does anybody know where to get our hands on some ammo???
  18. Is the Beretta 96 regarded as highly as the 92 as far as reliability and such?
  19. Hey crazy or not, I'm taking all suggestions...and actually I am partial to revolvers!
  20. Cash my friend...thinking about selling my stereo to pay for it and then have some left over.
  21. Thank you everyone for your input. At least now I have some direction on whats a good name brand and model to try out. 4 or 500 for a gun ain't that bad either. And yes as bad as I would like a .45, I probably would not want to buy the rounds I would need to practice with it.
  22. Yeah I have really big hands, so a compact may not go so well with me.
  23. CZ's best advertising this year has probably come from Call of Duty Black Ops. Now every kid is gonna grow up wanting a CZ because he used it on a videogame! lol
  24. Man I love how those things look...I do want one but thats probably not gonna workout for carry brian lol
  25. Hey guys, I was just wondering what some good options were for a first carrying pistol that may also be affordable to a college student?
