I recently installed the DCAEK kit and love it.

Now that I have a holster, I plan on carrying my .44 mag most of the winter. Nothing against my M&P .45, I just like big, powerful revolvers.

It's a neat store. He has animals mounted all around the store, and has vintage lever action rifles hanging all around the beams. He carries different stuff...he's not one to push heavily one brand or another. He has several AKs, shotguns, rifles. He has an assortment of pistols. He gets alot of people that trade in old or odd things. If I am looking for something old, he usually has it. There is also a woman there that works on bows and sells them.

Well I know that Doyle Sweeney at Hearthstone Guns on Snapps Ferry has a lot of experience in guns. He had an 1874 trapdoor in there about 6 months ago but he sold it before i could get the funds. He normally inspects the guns he gets before he sells them, to make sure they will function.

Ok...I have to come shoot that. I WANT ONE SO BAD! I would take it to a gunsmith and ask him about it. How bright is the bore? And I am pretty sure you can't use modern loads like what you would put in a marlin guide gun, although I don't think they have to be blackpowder only.

I really like the look and feel of those LCRs...I just bought my first revolver a few weeks ago too. It's the middle one on my avatar.

I agree with peejman on this one. I would wonder why not all? But if I had to narrow it down to just 2 I say Ithaca or Winchester.

My only problem with my mosin is the rear sight is so narrow that it is sometime difficult for me to get a clear sight picture. I think they have ring conversions don't they? That would help my iron sighting out a bit.

I just put in a trigger kit for my M&P 45, and thought I would run this issue I encountered by the forum. I guess it's the striker pin (in the slide), the spring that came with the kit to replace the old stiffer one seemed a little unsafe to me. When checking the gun's safety function by pressing down the striker pin and then trying to push the firing pin forward, I was able to move the pin on several attempts. Other times it would still hold back the firing pin, but I did not feel comfortable with that, so I replaced the striker pin and left the old spring in the gun. The trigger pull is still improved despite having to modify it this way. The pull is smooth and no longer has that spot where it sorta catches and required extra force to overcome. I am overall pleased. I still have novak night sights to install. Any gunsmiths around Greeneville TN?

That doesn't surprise me a bit. It's just too bad that people like me who want to own a fully auto piece of history like that for the pure fun of it probably will never be able to afford it.

Reviving this thread, does anyone have any input on the russian SVT-40? Or other 7.62x54r chambered firearms?
