  1. Here is a guy experimenting with the same deal.
  2. Very nice!
  3. I earned my award in 2006. I was also in the Order of the Arrow, a Brotherhood member. I had enough merit badges afterwards for 2 or 3 palms attached to the Eagle medal, however they got tangled up in paperwork around the time I was booted. I had also served as junior asst. scoutmaster for some time. We had very good leaders. All of them had a son or two in the troop, or had a son that had been in the troop before. They all worked together well and took us as far east as Nashville one summer to a camp called Mack Morris. Another year we went to Maine for summer camp. Our home camp is located in Whitesburg, TN. called Camp Davy Crockett. We always participated in ETSU's merit badge university held every January I think.
  4. A few of us are wondering how many on here attained the Eagle Scout award? Just curious. We could start our own group!
  5. I'll start a separate topic in the general section.
  6. I understand there is a regional banquet being organized for all Eagles past and present?
  7. I have never been hunting, but I have years of backpacking, camping through my times in the Boy Scouts. We have hiked so many places that I can't remember where any particular place is ha. I can recall hiking in the woods somewhere near where an old log train used to run. I found a big lump of coal probably from the locomotive's hopper. We have also come across abandoned tents with items scattered across the whole site. Probably have seen a few dead animals, although I can't recall any right now. We have stumbled across a graveyard or too, including what was an indian burial ground. I will have to pry some of my friends and see if they remember anything interesting. I was in the BSA from 4th grade up until around the time I graduated high school. They kick you out at 18. I made it to Eagle.
  8. This is interesting.
  9. In a survival situation, I would not be worried about how loud my gun is.
  10. My stock has the button-release-type mechanism, so I will assume the full length rod, anti air rifle configuration. Thanks for that input.
  11. I have an extra screw for holding the rear sight spring in place, and it would not fit into the holes for the wings either
  12. I installed the rear sight today. It came with the anti-aircraft setup, but no wings. I found the wings at http://www.gunpartsc...0620&catid=1206 , however I do not think they come with the screws. I have looked at the diagram and I have either overlooked them, or they simply do not sell them.
  13. You're gonna have to expand on the BLO because I am not knowledgeable about refinishing wood.
  14. Ha well if I am ever in Nashville visiting my cousins, I will try to look you up and see if I can open it
  15. HELL YEAH! Lucky for that guy he had a tall backpack on or he would've been dead before the bear intervened.
  16. Well I am almost done. The cold blue is a rather thin finish but it will do for my purposes. Here is the stock I found for the rifle. Someone or several someones have held this rifle alot. Everywhere you would put your hands, the finish is rubbed off the stock. Idk whether to sand it and put a clear coat on, or just leave it.
  17. Wanna do another one? lol
  18. I never let the sun set on a dirty gun.
  19. I've often wanted to join up with the Blue Springs reinactors just to be around all that noise. Ahh the smell of gunpowder.
  20. Thanks Garufa. It looks like my club is not affiliated, however I was in the AFJROTC back in highschool, so I wonder if good ole sarge could hook me up.
  21. Will just a local membership to a gun club and a carry permit be enough? Or do you have to be a member of a national organization?
  22. My 44 is dirty harry, and the mosin is moses. The lee enfield could be churchill...and my steyr is a little austrian devil.
  23. Oh sweet! I qualify for all of that already...I just need to fill out the forms.
  24. Well guys, I think I figured out why the firing pin is broke....
  25. Yeah but doesn't the CMP make it difficult to qualify to pick from their shelves? The reason I ask is because a Garand is next on my list.
