  1. I can't find a genuine Colt 1911a1 for less than $3000 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. It appears to me it's one of the early ones made here in the US for Russia. Notice the especially long serial number on the bolt and there are no letters/runes whatever you call them present. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yeah I mean there's plenty that I'd love to add but those two were just my top 2. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Been seeing this shared around facebook for awhile...when are people gonna learn? At least he did think to get behind the tree.
  5. Wow, yeah that 1866 Henry is an awesome heirloom. No telling how many hands have held that thing.
  6. Have you seen my unofficial title??? This is heaven for me!
  7. I have never put my swedish mauser to paper, but I have shot mine out to 350 yards or so and hit a 12" plate with regularity. Mr. Brian's reloads patterned extremely well for me at 50 yards. I don't have a scope on mine, just shoot it with the irons.
  8. Anyone with more than 2 of something feel free to send the third one my way
  9. This is gonna sorta be a statement of fact and a question. I am at the point where I have most of the "cheap" guns for my WW2 firearms collection...at least all the ones i care to have. Currently on my list to add are a 1911A1, preferably a Colt or Ithaca, and a Walther G43/K43. Whichever of these I can find the best deal on sooner. They stay pretty well out of my normal reach though. Therein lies the question: is there a firearm you want to add to your milsurp/C&R collection that eludes you because of the price tag, or perhaps there was one that you have since acquired?
  10. Thank you sir! Eventually I want to have as many of the German side arms that were used as possible. I still lack a CZ27, FN 1922, Mauser HSC, Walther PP/PPK just to name the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. There's surely more. This is just my German stuff. I need a good Colt 1911A1 but $2500 is just hard to spend on a pistol.
  11. If it's gonna bother you bad enough, I'd either try to replace the stock and bayonet lug or sell it. Life is too short to be unhappy with our guns.
  12. Newest addition to the WW2 collection, seen here with other German friends. The VIS 35 was a product of soured relations between FN and the Polish government. Poland was buying FN produced BAR rifles, and FN was struggling to deliver the goods in expected quantities and time frames. The decision to adopt the FN produced Hipower had already been decided by this point; however, the unreliable service thus far steered the country another direction. Poland turned to their Radom factory, deciding to manufacture the hipower themselves. The result is a pistol that functions internally like a Hipower yet resembles more of a 1911 style of JMB designed firearm. It has a single stack 8 round magazine, a slide stop lever, disassembly lever, and a decocker. The decocking feature was pushed heavily by the Polish cavalry. It has no functional safety other than the grip safety. The Radom factory was captured by the Germans when they invaded Poland. They decided this was a good design and continued production at Radom under the supervision of Steyr. Despite the various inspection stamps and processes, the Germans neglected to consider guns being copied, i.e. identical serial numbers, and about one pistol was duplicated per day and smuggled out of the plant until it was finally discovered. 100 employees were rounded up with 50 being hanged on site and the rest sent to concentration camps. 14. Yes, let's see your wares!
  15. I bought a Luger off a Luger collector last year. He frequents the Knoxville gun shows and would be a good one to tell you exactly what you have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Should've bought the Swiss k rifle collection from wideners back when they were still owned by Stan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I'd like a no5 but I have yet to find one in the condition I'd like for a reasonable price. I find a lot of them with that ugly painted looking black finish on the metal or someone will have refinished the stock to a gloss and I like them in original condition. 18. Here lately I can relate. I worked 6 days last week and expecting the same this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I didn't think the little rifle kicked that bad. I still think the mosins are worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Time for me to join the club. 1941 Mauser 42 code sn:58xxP
  21. Yeah don't pull a hoobler Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. It looks pretty dang freakin minty to me there compadre. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. No I guess not. The only thing I would worry about is whoever did it getting the mount in the correct position on the receiver and idk how to even determine that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
