1. I havent checked it out yet. Will do that this afternoon.
2. Thanks. I'm very excited about the K31. I've been after one for a few years now. I found a date on the bolt: WC1943....rifle looks brand new to be a 43.
3. They are in Jonesboro, but it's not a gun shop you can just walk into per say. You order online or over the phone and they will either ship to you or they have 3-5pm pickup openings.
4. Went in to buy 2 Romanian TTC Tokarevs and also walked out with this beauty I've been dying for for so long. And here are the pistols. Great shape too.
5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfzQ4uKvE7c   Hickok and his black powder Glock!
6. Wow, even I might be able to do this.
7. I want in on shooting milsurps?
8. A lot of people give carbine Williams too much credit on the design of the little gun. Actually, John browning's brother had a lot to do with it, along with the engineers at Winchester. Carbine Williams just designed the short stroke gas piston I believe.
9. I believe I would have kept it and no one would ever know about it either lol.
10. Ok. I would recommend the website http://www.bavarianm1carbines.com/ to anyone wanting to have good reference points on proofs and model specific design differences. I know a little more now that I have read through the site.
11. Well my serial on the receiver is 369****...so I guess not original barrel to the receiver, but original IBM barrel within a few months. Also, my rear sight serial is 7160060, not 7160020
12. So then how does one tell if the barrel is original to the receiver? My barrel says IBM Corp 10-43 and then has the flaming bomb under that.
13. Well looks like I'm gonna have to take the hand guard off and see if they match.   Gee guys, where is the barrel serial number? And looks like the trigger guard was replaced with Inland.
14. *UPDATE*    Just from an external examination, I have both an IBM barrel and receiver. The rear sight is probably not original. It says I.R.CO. (ingersoll rand?) and has a different serial number than the receiver.
15. Thanks guys. I will disassemble and report on the serials. I have shot them before, so i know how fun they are.
16. I guess I will share...picked for $550. No tax or background. Private sale. The cheapest auction I could find on gunbroker for an IBM was 645 with 23 hrs left, so I know I got a steal, but I would really like to know what it could potentially be valued at (not that I would sell at this point...)
17. Havent taken it apart to check that out yet.
18. Here it is with my other recent purchase, Remington 1903A3. That stain looking spot on the stock is where I had oiled the stock then grabbed it and smeared it.
19. Yeah the crown is in good shape and all that...still need to clean all the oil from peoples' hands off of it  :yuck:
20. I was at the Kingsport Meadowview Convention Center gun show this afternoon, where I picked this!
21. Makes me cringe...
22. Egg whites are good! Full of protein!
