  All of this is very true.  There's a wrecker service in Robbinsville that always seems to have 6 or so bikes in their "corral" and they can tell you many stories of fatalities both on the Skyway and on the Dragon.  I've been there, seen the bikes and listened to the stories.  I know of one person a few years ago on a small cruiser that was riding 2 up with his wife on the Dragon. The cruiser was not speeding and was riding leisurely with a couple of other friends behind on bikes also.  A bike came out of a curve at a high rate of speed, on it's side and sliding towards them.  They had nowhere to go and they caught the bike head on right in the front wheel.  The rider of the crotch rocket had a broken leg, the driver of the cruiser spent 3 weeks in the hospital and his wife spent 2 weeks, but both survived. You can be doing the right thing on the Dragon and still get killed.  It is a very dangerous road.

I used to go a lot and was up there a couple of weeks ago. It's way crowded now except sometimes through the week. I usually just run the skyway and Maggie valley areas now.

I like the Velcro path or pin idea. A pin or patch with the TGO emblem and handle would be great IMO. whatever we do I'll take one for sure.

In the back of my mind. I've been thinking seriously about a motorcycle trip through New England.....that has been scratched off of my bucket list permanently. So has a Colorado ride. I have NO interest anymore. These are both communist areas of the USA to my way of thinking and not much better than a ride through Mexico as far as being arrested goes.

Being in the 4th quarter of the game of life is looking better all the time.  I hate to think the world our young people are going to soon be living in if something don't change.

I've read everything I can get my hands on about the mountain men.  Fascinating time period and bunch of men. Watch the movie everytime I can catch it on tv.  I didn't know there was a seasonal show though.  I'll be catching that one and recording....thanks!
