McCain backs Obama's call for 'stand your ground' review

WE THE PEOPLE of Arizona need to wake up and RETIRE his arse..... -
As I got older, I wanted my hair shorter and shorter and finally ended up with 1/2" cut which is pretty short, a #4 I believe. One day, a couple of years or so ago, I was reading another gun forum and somehow a thread ended up on haircuts. Kinda like this one. One person mentioned that they had picked up a Flowbee.... :stunned: :stunned: ....yes, I said a Flowbee....at a yard sale about 12 years before and that it was the best $10 he had ever spent...Well, my immediate thought was :squint: , but I continued to read.....He had actually bought a new one, he said, since the old one finally bit the dirt after hundreds of excellent haircuts. He said it worked great and that he liked his hair short and only took him about 10 minutes to cut his hair. I guess he broke the ice because all of a sudden a bunch of these guys all fessed up to owning a Flowbee and all of them talked about "best money I've ever spent" and how they haven't paid for a haircut in years......Well, I bought one. YES I DID....I bought a Flowbee, but had to buy a new one since I don't do yard sales. I got one online and on sale for something like $60 or so delivered. THEY WERE RIGHT. The Flowbee has cut my hair perfectly and at the 1/2" mark now every week for about two years now. I just use my beard trimmer for around the ears and my neck and I'm done. The vacuum sucks up all the hair and you don't have a mess or have an itchy neck. I did let my hair get way too long one time due to working OT and went and got a store bought $18 haircut and had to use the Flowbee to straighten the danged thing out. Even my wife says it cuts better those places do. I've probably used it around 60 times which has saved me over $1,000 or so in haircut money. That's a couple of nice pistols, or an AR guys!!! LOL I do think it would be a PITA for long hair though.

Visiting Chattanooga soon-- gun shop suggestions?
Randall53 replied to tartanphantom's topic in General Chat
I've never bought a handgun from GT. I was thinking only LEO or Military could purchase from them. A transfer would be in order though, is that a hassle? I have bought other items though. They have a great selection. -
I'd love to see Piers Morgan drop kicked back to the UK, or ANYWHERE for that matter. He is an obnoxious DWEEB.

I'd call these places before I drove down. Sportsman's Supply on Hixson Pike is by the Krystal just off of hwy 153 and used to require a years membership to shoot at the range, They may have changed recently, but I doubt it. I don't know about Shooters Depot. I've been in the place twice and didn't have the pleasant experience others on here have posted, so I've marked them off my list, but I'd give them a call to see. Carters on 58 hwy has an indoor range, but I've never used it. It'd be worth a call to see how access to their range works. I used to go to Prentice Cooper, but haven't been their in 4 years or more so I can't give an opinion on it.

Sportsmans Warehouse (6241 Perimeter Dr. Chattanooga, TN) has a huge selection of firearms (again..!!), Academy Sports (2220 Hamilton Place Blvd, Suite 150 Chattanooga, TN) slightly behind SW on firearm selection I think, but they do have very good prices. GT Distributors (100 McFarland Avenue Rossville, GA) is THE candy store located just across the Georgia line. A must visit if an the area. -
"Justice for Trayvon" National Day of Action Vigils in 100 Cities
Randall53 replied to QuietDan's topic in General Chat
What a shame. Black on Black murders occur year in and year out in most major cities, committed by thugs with stolen handguns. Never a word about that though. They may as well flash a big sign that says "NOBODY CARES"...... -
I enjoy shooting about anything, but I am higly partial to handguns. I just like the feel and the challenge of them. Pistol, revolver....I like 'em both and have a couple or so of each. I think you did great for the money you spent for sure!!

I quit paypal over a year ago over a dispute. They were handy when things worked right, but they sure have a pitiful CS team. My bank even told them the mistake was theirs. I'll never use them again.

I know what you mean about motorcycle stuff. I did buy an HJC helmet at air riders in Ooltowah for the same price it was online. they also installed one of their headsets for me to. their a small shop, but are good to deal with. local MC dealers always have jacked up prices. There's only one place I'll let touch my bike. it AIN'T Southern Honda either. i won't set foot in that place.
-
Yep. You are correct...it's a good store and I still buy quite a bit of stuff there. I just wish they kept more variety in the store rather than in the warehouse. I've got my eye on a Lowrance Down Imaging fish finder they have. I won't really need it until fall/winter crappie fishing. Imagonna wait until it's on sale and snatch one up...!!! (they DO have them in the store...)

I know....you're saying because it's a big box chain. BUT it is 2 miles from my driveway and that makes it pretty local for me. :stare:

Both groups are freedom hating, kool-aid drink'n liberals and we all know that 47% of liberals vote for a living... :bored:

I checked online yesterday at the Academy website for a couple of items. I wanted to buy either a Fobus holster for a CZ 75 B or a 2 mag pouch for a Glock 9mm. The website showed that both should be available in stores. I went to buy either or both if they had them. Nope. The guy behind the counter said a lot of stuff they sell has to be ordered online. Well Duh.....I shoulda knowed I guess. I went home, checked with Optics Planet and they had both in stock. The holster was $7 cheaper and the mag pouch was $1 cheaper (hey...every dollar counts nowadays) ALSO, OP had.....ready? FREE SHIPPING! Soooo...I ordered from OP, saved $8, got free shipping and did the fat man dance to celebrate....LOL

Best eating establishments in Middle - East Tn area?
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in General Chat
Thanks TankerHC. I'll be going to Frazier and giving that place a try. I love good German food and it certainly is hard to find. -
I enjoyed meeting and talking with you to Jamie. I just wish I could have stayed longer and watched everyone on the other stages. I hope to be back up there next shoot and participating this time. See you at Cleveland..!!

Hmmm...did anyone else notice this on the link posted above? "R.E. Dodd has teamed up with Bill Newman to host IDPA every 4th Saturday in Dayton. Be sure to check it out. More info can be found at theridgeshooting.com." Sounds like another opportunity to shoot to me.....
-
Ima going. Will be my first IDPA shoot. I'll probably be a lost ball in high weeds, but I did get to watch spiffy, brazilnuts and several other guys shoot last weekend in oak ridge. Sure did look like a lotta fun to me.
