  1. After doing some checking, it appears a 225 gr bullet zero'd at 25 yards will be 3" @ 100 yds and -5.7" @ 150 yds. 200 yrds is -14.6" and way over the line. anybody got input? thanks.
  2. I used to be deer hunting crazy, but got out of it 20 years ago. I'm thinking about getting back in since i plan on retiring soon. Not hardcore mind you, just to be outdoors and maybe put some meat on the table. My question is this. I always hunted thick stiff and will likely do the same. I have a Marlin 44 magnum lever and have been wondering how far a maximum shoot would be just in case. I hate to wound an animal so I'm talking about about a clean kill leaving my shooting skills out of the equation. My guess is somewhere between 100 & 150 yards maybe? what do you guys think?
  3. I've got the 30 for carry and bedside, then the 34 for IDPA.....I like them both.
  4. BIG TIME CONGRATS!!   Up until about 2 weeks ago I was riding 7 miles 3 times a week and had been for a couple of months. That's pretty good for an overweight 60 year old couch potato with 3 knee surgerys 1 shoulder surgery and pins in my left ankle.  Then it started raining...and raining...then it got hot..then it got hotter and I hate hot.  I'm starting back up in a couple of days though and plan on keeping it up....well, until it gets HOT again!
  5.   I remember that......strange though. Took my son to the airport yesterday for his second deployment.  He was home only 5 months from the last one.
  6. I have always got my eyes peeled for good raw natural raw honey...I like it raw.  No additives, no pasturaized, no nothin....just rich raw honey.  Yep...I like it RAW...and I eat it EVERY DAY....EVERY DAY...!!!  :yum: :yum: :yum:
  7.   Garufa must mean "phycic" in Klingon....am I right?
  8. LOL.....I was gonna say one on a chain.....but didn't want to be a SA....Besides, I really hate to see dogs chained up. I pass one on the way to work every day. I've never seen him of of it, no matter when i go by, or anyone outside playing with him. So sad. I've been thinking of turning them in. Some people don't deserve the love and devotion of a good dog.
  9.   LOL......yep.
  10.   I don't have to.....I can just look at the successful history of TVA.
  11.   Maybe....but it could head us back on the road to economic recovery. In addition to putting thousands to work in the field, these projects would require a ton of equipment and materials made by manufacturers which would boost that sector of jobs to boot. How would that be a bad thing?
  12.   It's obvious from the deficit that even with all of the taxation being levied on everything and everybody, government spending is taking us to the verge of economic collapse. The sad part is, a large part of the money the government takes they give to foreign countries (even those that hate our guts) by the boat load, while they sit up there knowing the infrastructure of this country from roads and bridges, the power grid, to the sewers of our cities is outdated and "rusting" away.   If our leaders would stop giving our tax dollars away and use it to begin to rebuild and/or repair this infrastructure thus creating millions of jobs for people that would begin a chain reaction of growth in many areas. When people have jobs they buy things and pay taxes that would begin a positive cycle in this country. We could actually begin to claw our way out of this mess.
  13. I posted 3 links to American made Products JohnC and they all blew right by them....LOL
  14. You can even find nice furniture, kitchen accessories and just about anything at surprisingly low prices if you do some research   here's a good directory   http://www.americansworking.com/
  15.   You can find them, but not in brick and mortar stores. you have to order them online.  Here is where I buy American made jeans.  Very nice jeans, and they wear better than and cheaper than Levi's that are "imported"...you can even get them in 31 length.  Try that at Pennys or Sears...or any other walk in store!!    http://keepamerica.com/shop/relax-fit-mens-denim-jean.html   Here's another store I have used.  A little more expensive than the one above, but still right at the inported jeans price and Dockers prices for casual.  They also have some nice American made jackets in the mid $30 range. check out the polo shirts for under $30    http://www.allamericanclothing.com/   You can even find nice furniture, kitchen accessories and just about anything at surprisingly low prices if you do some research. Give it a try with your own online searches.  I did and it's the first place I go when I'm looking for something.
  16. Or maybe I should say....NO wonder there are no jobs......here in USA. I was in Sears the other day and had a little time on my hands. I started looking at shirts and here is what I found.....Some of these shirts were expensive too. The only shirt I found made in USA was by Arrow. Even the old Carhartt brand has sold out...
  17. i always clean and lube every new firearm i buy before i take it to the range, and repeat every tine i shoot.
  18. I just looked at a certain TGO reloading supplier's website, and it says he will soon take orders online? That's some great news!
  19. One table was selling NIB Glocks for $489.00. Another table was selling them for around $530. The guy selling the $530 Glocks said the other table had to be selling Gen 3's....I don't know. I did tell him a lot of people would rather have the Gen 3's.
  20. I found some SP primers for $35 at a table with quite a bit of reloading supplies. They also had ball ammo reloads with new brass and copper plated boolits....and they had LOTS of it in 500 Round boxes. 40sw was 144.49 and 9mm was 139.95 if I remember correctly. 380 was 189.95 for a box of 500. they also had a lot of plated hard ball boolits by the bags full. They have a store in Ft. Oglethorpe across from the Sears shoe store and said ammo prices are the same as at the show.
  21. I have one about 10 years old and really like to shoot it. I've never had any problems, but I do keep it clean and I've always lightly greased the slide area.
  22. Wow....I ain't thought of Sambos in many years. It was a late night favorite if mine back in the day.
  23. And their all probably sitting in the same room......watching golf
  24. Same here.i bought a S&W model 41 a good red dot, etc.....went to a match to scope it out. Sold it all within a couple of months. Some guys had 22 pistols that cost several thousand dollars. A few had 3 or 4 pistols in their box. Too rich for my blood.
  25.   Now that sounds like something that should be shared...!!!   Statute of Limitations has run out by now....right?
