  1. Thanks Whitewolf for the info.  I like what I've seen on youtube about them and what I've read on their website. I'll have to handle one before I decide of course.  It seems like each model will work with quite a few pistols. That would be very nice to be able to swap guns and use the same holster all the time.
  2.   Much less noisy than kicking in a door also. Painters tape and a ball peen hammer is all you need.
  3. I stumbled upon these holsters today and they look like a pretty good item.  Has anybody ever owned one?   Edited to add link...oops.   https://www.n82tactical.com/
  4. I bet their ears rang for days!
  5. I say yes they should be armed with a side arm and it should be OC. Those bad eggs and crazy's would calm way down if everywhere they looked they saw 45's on everybody's hips. Here is an excellent article on the subject IMHO:   http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/nov/11/end-clinton-era-military-base-gun-ban/
  6. Now THAT'S what I want. Not a long blade, but that one really struck my fancy. I'm gonna do some searching and comparing, but I really like that. It's at the top of the list at the moment. Thanks for the info..!!
  7. I've been thinking about a horizontal scabbard for a 4-5 inch fixed blade myself. I've not really had time to do much searching though.
  8. If they ban guns, they use knives. When they add knives to the ban, they'll use hammers, screwdrivers, scissors.......they just don't get it. It's not the tool it's the attacker!
  9. Added to my prayer list. My wife had double pneumonia last summer. 5 days in the hospital. I know what your going through.
  10. I've been wearing them for years. You have to turn your head more since side vision ain't what it used to be. Steps, cubs are tough until you get used to them. Take it slow...you'll have less knots on your noggin. Oh, and USE THE HANDRAILS!!!!..LOL
  11. That is a great story! He'll be your best bud... That's for sure!!
  12. Catastrophic EMPs can come in other packages, totally out of anyone's control. http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/tech/science/2010-10-26-emp_N.htm
  13. Today, a Seecamp 380.
  14. Maybe.....I've felt that way too. Sometimes I'm thinking it could change a BG's mind. Of course if your scenario is the one that plays out, that would be a bad day, so why take a chance.
  15. What I said was "I don't recall" it wasn't a definitive statement of fact. It's a boring rainy Monday...I'll just go out today and visit a few and get back to you. I can't believe that's all you took away from my post.
  16. Most reporters are terrible writers. It could possibly have been accidental discharge while heading into the woods to hunt and not actually "hunting" yet. If there's pastures in the area a fences are always present.
  17. IF this is an accurate statement, I wouldn't want to set foot in the place for anything. I've noticed many gun shop owners and pawn shop owners being visibly armed many times, but don't recall employees being armed. Either way, I always thought it was in case of an armed robbery, not to force an unarmed customer, even an unruly one, out the door. That's what the police are for. Oh, I'm not saying the OP was unruly either. I don't know what happened since I wasn't there.
  18. I have one in 20 ga for the wife since that is her gauge of choice and what she is used to (skeet). Research tells me that 000 buck in 20 ga had best penetration and the best load for home defense. So, that's how we are set up.
  19. The times they are a chang'un......I ain't giving up, but the light at the end of the tunnel is growing dim. Legal or not.
  20. Dayum.....armslist will be loaded up for weeks.
  21. What say ye?   http://www.williamhenry.com/spearpoint-independence.html?utm_source=GoogleShopping&utm_medium=organic&gclid=CIOCnK2XyL0CFbTm7AodYhIAAQ
  22. I've wanted a good air rifle for quite some time, but I don't have one yet. If anyone has a tack diver in 22 cal, I'd like some suggestions on make, model mods.
  23. I found the article on guns in parks, but can't find the one on knives. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I do remember a statement just a couple of days ago that he was concerned about citizens carrying large "switchblade" type knives and their conceal-ability. Feel free to disregard the statement I made. If I find it I'll post it here. http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2014/mar/07/tn-gov-haslam-concerned-about-gop-efforts-against-/
