Glad you got out to the range Bersaguy! I was looking at those the other day at the new Gander Mountain here in Chattanooga. I like those a lot. Won't be buying one at Gander though...LOL. They are very proud of their guns and their price shows it!

"THE" points to a particular "gunshowgirl and signifies the real deal, so "thegunshowgirl" is the best....LOL

Hey...don't apologize Dirtshooter, I've enjoyed all the input and stories! LOL....I used to think I had too many hobbies, but now may have room for a few more. I enjoy skeet and sporting clay shooting, got a CZ 22 for some rifle competition, a really nice boat for fishing, motorcycle, I've been getting into bicycle riding and I play billiards a LOT and thinking of expanding that too a couple more nights a week. Oh...and enough yard work to fill in the rest of the days I suppose. I now have time to do all the maintenance on our cars so that will save me money and keep me busy also. I also have a camper at a nice campground to enjoy. I've heard others say they just don't do retirement very well....I can't imagine. LOL Thanks for all the well wishes and the advice and stories. I'm really enjoying hearing from others that have retired. Now...where is that fishing calendar...? haha.

I see that a lot also. Or an item that's less than 20 bucks and it says "free shipping" then you read the fine print after "adding to cart" that says "if total is over $39.95"

I particularly like the part about no schedule and fishing during the week..!!

It feels good, yet strange knowing I won't have to get up by the alarm clock anymore, unless I'm going hunting or fishing....LOL

I suspect that the Africa part of the phrase is for the purpose of keeping alive the fact that their ancestors were forcibly brought here as slaves. The puzzle I can't seem to understand is the fact that they were sold into slavery by their ancestors yet this is always ignored. No one alive today in the USA was personally involved in either fact of history, so I have to ask....At this point, what difference does it make?

LOL....yep. How big and what kind was it? My dad mounted a 4.5 lb bass for me because I nagged him so much about it. I was 8 years old. haha.

Personally, I prefer the fiberglass mounts. You simply weigh the fish, measure length and girth and turn the fish loose. Then you send in the info and get a perfect beautiful fiberglass replica that will last far longer than taxidermy mounts. It sounds like you're already past that stage though. You may ask at Sportsmans in Brainerd. Seems like I've seen a few taxidermy ads at their entrance.

He does seem to have a target on his back, in more ways than one, and a black cloud that follows him around. Montana would do him well. I lived there for a while several years ago, and I loved it. Had a great time up there.

I own one of the above mentioned shotguns. Of course it's very old, so old in fact the stock is black. Do any of you collectors have a book that could enlighten me on maybe age and approximate value? It's not in very great shape, yet nothing is broken on it. There's little to no rust on the exterior, but the bore(s) do have some pitting. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Civil Unrest Thread got me thinking.

"I find it funny" is another way of saying "I find it strange....", or it has throughout my life. I was also referring to a room in which to fight from, not an entire house and thought there may be some here that have made one and I could get ideas. My insurance is half again more than my mortgage, so I do know what you mean. It doesn't matter. There are other sites that have survival info. -
Civil Unrest Thread got me thinking.

Well, I see a couple of people have thought about this. However, some of you really need to read up on your Testosterone supplements and attempt to cut back on your doses. Abnormal aggression to a fairly simple question on a forum is one side effect. I guess I should have posted this in the Survival and Preparedness section….Oh wait…I DID…! LOL. I will respond though by saying I didn’t tell, nor do I give a hoot how anyone spends their retirement accounts or college funds and civil unrest in no way compares to a freak’n army invasion nor the need for anti-artillery or missile bunkers, castles, nor shark infested moats…I might like to have an armor plated Winnebago though. I’m retiring in 2 weeks and that thing could be good on the freeway! But those comments did crack me up so thanks!! I WAS mostly thinking civil unrest as in drive by spraying of houses, and possibly attacks spreading into suburb type neighborhoods by gangs however. No doubt this could happen if things got really bad in the streets like in the other post I read. From the news, there’s no shortage of guns and ammo in the hood and drive by shootings do occur pretty frequently now in some areas of the hood, but could spread to other areas if, say for instance, the welfare checks quit coming? Or the Obama phones crap out? Anyway, Dolomite hit on a good idea though and thanks for the constructive comment. I have a small 9ft. room that faces the street that would allow covering the front door and has only one small window. It’s in the center of the house that would easily cover the front door and both sides of the house. Heck I could even give the Papa Johns Pizza guy cover while he delivered pizza to the window of my fortified room!! Maybe a steel plate backed by solid 2†rough lumber 4 or 5 ft tall on the side facing the street might do the trick. Guess I’ll just check into it and see what’s out there. Yall be safe and keep your powder dry. -

I guess because if your dead, all that money spent was for nothing? -
Civil Unrest Thread got me thinking.
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Survival and Preparedness
I find that amazing. People spend thousands of dollars on survival food, water, guns and ammo, yet most live in a home that most firearms would shoot right through. -
I'm sure we all have thought about what guns and ammo we need if bad things happen. I read a thread today about what guns we would need, but what about our homes? Most of us can't just leave with the family in tow if civil unrest strikes us suddenly. If that happens I'm sure those that are attacking will also have guns and will be shooting into our homes. Has anyone thought about this? We all know most guns will shoot right through our walls and door. Any thoughts?

I made it out to the gun show today and saw quite a crowd. Lots of AR's, Pistols of every brand were plentiful. Prices were pretty good it seemed to me. Glocks (my favorite pistol) were around $529 NIB and I saw one model 27 for $499 NIB. I'm really wanting one of those, but funds were short today, so maybe I'll be ready to buy when November get's here. I saw some M&P's mid to upper 300 range. Ammo was plentiful also and prices were not bad compared to a year ago. 22LR was easy to find and prices have dropped but still not real affordable. 550 round Federals were $50 and I saw one table with Federal Match grade 325 rounds for $35. Lot's of nice knives also. I saw a S&W that I really liked for $15 that runs about $20 online. If I hadn't bought a Gerber EZ-OUT a couple of weeks ago, I'd have bought it. Not many tables with reloading supplies, but one I did stop at had a fair variety of powder, but only 2 - 8lb jugs. All in all, it was not bad at all compared to what I saw when the crunch was on. I asked several of the tables how they had done and most said not bad and worth the trip, but could have been better. Maybe that's a sign more people have some extra cash to spend. Cheer.....!

Obama: "I think I'll go play a few rounds Moocheelle, you know, to clear my mind about this border attack business. Why don't you take one of them Hashtag pictures and post it. I'll hold a press conference and display my deep concern over this when I get back.."

Thanks for posting. I may have to try my hand at that. I'm retiring in a few weeks and have been looking for something to fill the void. I've never painted, so I may have to start with hammers and screwdrivers though...LOL

Cheapest quality .40 ammo I have seen for awhile
Randall53 replied to Patton's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've bought from them. Re-manufactured, but quality stuff in my book. I've always been pleased. -
That's really looks great. How hard is that to put on? What is the process....is it sprayed on?

"I would not hesitate to cut it off with a hacksaw and use a carriage bolt and valve grinding compound to put another crown on it." Hacksaw? Crap, if I cut it with a hacksaw damn thing would whistle at you every time you shot it......

Things are beginning to turn around..... for good

Dude. I've gotta say that I respectfully consider you insane. You will be old one day and I can tell you from experience that all an old man has is what a young man saves, and many don't save anything. Another sad part of life is that an old man must live with the decisions he made when he was young, dumb and gullible; like the people that buy into those crazy articles you posted. OOps...forgot to say, congrats on the new job!! I've heard it's a good job with advancement opportunities to boot.
