  1. "I'm through with standin' in lines to clubs I'll never get in It's like the bottom of the ninth and I'm never gonna win This life hasn't turned out Quite the way I want it to be"
  2. I'm hard on a knife and I lose them sometimes. For those reasons I usually stick with under $50 Gerbers like the EZ-OUT etc.....I 'd like to have an Auto or better yet a horizontal belt fixed blade. Those are hard to find for under my $50 limit. *sigh*
  3. Regardless of what happened, the 1st amendment explicitly provides for 'the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances'". Anything above the "peaceably" part is criminal and should be treated as such.
  4. They have first pick of the second round tonight. I hope they go with Goldman from Florida state. He's a Solid defensive tackle. Titans need defense players IMO
  5. That's a beautiful knife.
  6. I think they should have grabbed Def. Tackle Leonard Williams. He was one of the top defensive picks of the draft, if not THE top pick.
  7. Well, I don't see anything happening to fix the problem or it would have already been started a few years ago. I do think that when you take 1 of the 2 most valued states that produce so much food (Florida and Californaia) out of the equation, then we'll see costs double at least. Not good for any of us.
  8. Maybe a year left seems to be the consensus. Can you imagine the price of fruits, veggies and nuts when the well runs dry? It ain't gonna be a pretty sight at the grocery store checkout.
  9. One thing is for sure. The changes we are seeing in our society in our lives is like a snowball rolling down a steep hill. They are happening faster all the time and getting bigger at the same time.
  10. To each his/her own. If I owned some of the knives I've seen here on TGO made by our own members, I really would not trade 1 for 2 of the ones I've seen on her website if I had to keep them. There is no beauty there to me.
  11. Thanks for all the replies. The wife is having foot issues and can't walk anyway....I'm gonna hold off a month or so.
  12. Thank you Patton. That is exactly what I offered.
  13. IF you find you need to replace it, Ace hardware can make them for around $50 I believe.
  14. I think you may be correct. I just saw new ones are selling at Academy Sports for $429. Demand must have dropped a bit. Shoulda looked there first I guess. I could still save $40 in taxes and $10 in B/C. I might still take it. Thanks for the replies.
  15. Someone in the Chattanooga area has a Glock 42 for sale on Armslist for $410 with "50 rounds through it" as they say. I don't know who the person is or anything else, but does that sound like a good price? My wife is thinking about one. Has box papers etc...
  16. Beautiful knife. <10 thumbs up>
  17. Hmmm...I thought it was a black, mexican white man that killed Trayvon. Well, at least that's what I read in the news.
  18. Maple flavored bacon on a Krispy Kreme? Freak'n AWESOME..!!!! It goes well with waffles, so why not a huge KK square donut? Ooops Dunk'n Donuts I see....same idea. I'm IN..!!!
  19. Below is the thinking of the sponser of the bill and others regarding immediate vicinity: Here is the link to the article it came from: http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/state/haslam-signs-gunsinparks-bill_27539929 FROM THE ARTICLE: The sponsors of the bill said they purposely did not define what constitutes “immediate vicinity.” “We were trying to make clear that you as a handgun-carry permit holder are not allowed to go onto school property. If you are in a park adjoining school property and you’re a handgun-carry permit holder, as long as the school is not using, at that time, the park, you can go into the park,” said Sen. John Stevens, R-Huntingdon, the Senate sponsor of the bill. “It needs to be a school-sanctioned event. It’s not just kids playing on a playground,” he said. “If that playground is on school property, there can’t be a permit holder carrying a gun there. If it’s not on school property and a school-sponsored event is not underway, the permit holder can carry a gun there,” Stevens said last week. SO.....it appears that they are thinking this: 1. Park is on school property - NO CARRY AT ANY TIME. 2. Park is adjacent to school but not on school property and no sanctioned school activity - CARRY PERMITED 3. Park is adjacent to school but not on school property with children playing in park but not sacntioned shcool activity - CARRY PERMITTED This does not answer the question of parks NOT adjacent to schools, but for MY safety, if I go to any park and see a sactioned school activity going on I'm not going in at all. I'm going to err on the side of caution for MY protection against prosecution.
  20. About all they'd get is tee times and selfies I'd say. He never does any real presidential type work anyway.
  21. That has been on my mind also. Some DS's like the ones in Texas that kept carrying their AR's into restaurants. They are way past STUPID!
  22. Sir, you have nailed it to the wall..!!! Wanna run for Governor? You got my vote.
  23. This is what makes me shake my head: "further investigation into the matter shows that his fellow officers were not only complicit in covering it up, but also sadistically laughed as the man lay bleeding internally in the cell" I can understand a bad cop getting on a police force every now and then. But why don't their peers have the balls to do what's right? Are they all afraid of the big bad cop? It sure seems that way sometimes.
  24. I find the mindset that it's the NRA's fault totally assanine when in fact, it's obvious that many people are suddenly seeing the need to own a gun for protection by simply looking at the news and seeing the violence brazenly occurring everywhere at all times of the day and night. Home invasion, car jacking, Individuals and flash mobs destroying stores and beating innocent people senseless, or even to death, the "knockout game" etc.....and participants looking into the camera laughing and telling the news they are doing it because it's "fun". It's not the NRA's fault that in millions of peoples minds the fog is clearing and the light is coming on.
  25. I can't understand how anyone can believe that criminals obey signs and laws when they make their living doing the opposite. I just can't decide if they are nieve, stupid, or just trying to pacify those that ARE, in order to keep their cushy jobs.
