The good guys have never stopped a mass shooting
Randall53 replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
Well these stooges never seek the truth as we all know, but would rather spread their lies. Just about every mass shooting has been in gun free zones and the lying twits know this, but stories of self defense survivors are not hard to find: http://thewellarmedwoman.com/women-and-guns/survival-stories http://forum.opencarry.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?136-True-Tales-of-Self-Defense http://thearmedcitizen.com https://www.learnaboutguns.com/tag/self-defense-example/ And the list goes on and on........... -
Hunter orange for squirrel hunting during deer season??
Randall53 replied to Dirtshooter's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I agree with Red333. Squirrel hunting does not make you immune to the very few dorks out there with high powered rifles that are tempted to shoot at something they see moving and not wearing Blaze Orange.....or even the dreaded "sound shot". -
I used to use these all the time when I worked. Flir is the king of thermal imaging, but they are expensive. The camera I used was about 50 grand. You might find a used one if you look around, but they have started making some smaller hand held units that go for around 500 to 1000

I'm with btq96r. Take it to Firestone or something similar. I use to do all my own work including brakes, clutches, engine swaps and anything else that needed to be done.. Not anymore. I take it to my mechanic right down the road from me and drink coffee while he does the work. I still change oil and do brakes, but that's it. These new cars are a nightmare for driveway mechanic work anyways.

Being an old man, I've never heard of any of these bands or talents, but this is sad indeed and I do know this. Our country and many of our youth are simply drowning in these illegal drugs. Illegal drugs are everywhere. I've said it before, but the 50+ years old war on drugs, as it's been called, has failed miserably. It's worse than it's ever been. Even the use of legal drugs is rampant. Every day I see commercials for some type of drug for every small ailment it seems with "ask your doctor iif <drug name> is right for you". Medicine and drugs do have a place, but it seems that people reach for a drug for every small ailment.

Post #195 above by Dolomite repeats at least 5 times that there were 3 shooters, including the tweets from ISIS saying "3 lions". All of the reports yesterday said 3 shooters. Now they are saying 2 shooters and both are dead. I've been scanning news reports for a while now and can't find a thing now that even mentions a 3rd shooter. I would think that they had firm intel from witnesses that there were 3 shooters. Now they are content to call it 2? Don't make sense to me.

Those kinds of friends are worth more than their weight in gold. I'd say you are too Bersa to have friends like that.

Nashville Mayor wasting no time...
Randall53 replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't live in Nashville, but this seems to be the goal to me and the anti gunners can kill 2 birds with one stone by getting the opportunity to bash those "evil" gun shows at the same time promoting their agenda and getting a lot of air time in the local MSM. -
Well, it seems to me you better run out and buy MrMonkeyman something that goes BOOM to lesson the blow when he finds out!! :pleased:

Anyone have a door barricade on their front door?
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Survival and Preparedness
LOL.....I sense there is a very humorous story here? -
Being retired can get boring on days like these. I usually have plenty to keep me busy. Yep...I've reloaded, cleaned guns and sorted cleaning kit, organized the safe and re-organized my fishing tackle in my boat and oiled all my reels. All the fun stuff is done. LOL Same here. I had plans to hunt a couple of days and fish a couple also. The river here at Chickamauga Dam is rolling. It'll be next week before the water settles enough to go after some crappie. I may get a couple of days of hunting in though. I've got to put a new A-frame coupler on my trailer tomorrow though, if the rain will stop, so I can haul the 4 wheeler. Trust me. You don't want me doing your plumbing....LOL Me too! Snow is even more boring because it's not only wet, but cold too. I guess that's next on the list. I'm a billiards player and fan. I have all the great billiards movies. Maybe I'll put The Hustler in with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason. It's considered a classic, but it puts me to sleep in about 20 minutes. I'll get a good nap anyway. LOL

Anyone have a door barricade on their front door?
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Yep....wake me up and slow them down is the plan. If I can gain just a few seconds, it might make a big difference. My neighborhood is changing slowly based on news reports of crap happening nearby and all around. I'm just wanting to add time on my end in case of home invasion type of scenario. The windows of my house are too high for someone to break and get into quickly and I have an alert dog that would wake me in that case. But a kick the door in and be on us in a few seconds scenario is what I'm wanting to eliminate. I have a 7 round pistol grip 870 with buckshot and a glock 27 by the bed with 2 extra mags for self defense. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll check those out also. Home depot has those in the store I just found out. -

Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Survival and Preparedness
LOL.....OS you are so funny....."I have a metal door with no windows so that's a plus". The DOOR has no windows and is the subject of the statement. Not the house. You can't break a window pane of the door and unlock it. -

Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Survival and Preparedness
Thanks for the replies. The 2x4 thing Mike.357 suggested is what I'm looking at right now. I don't live in a dump, but it is an older home and wouldn't be too noticeable and it seems like the cheapest way to go. I have a metal door with no windows so that's a plus. My main thought is to slow them down enough that I can be ready if they do get past it. There's been a few break-ins in the area I live in, but no home invasions yet. We can't be too careful though. The metal barracades I've found are good and cost around $80. Those wouldn't be that much more considering what they are and are much less noticeable but there are quite a few of them and all I've found is online like Amazon etc....I hate buying something that I can't check out first. thanks again. -
Anyone else worried about attacks during Star Wars premier?
Randall53 replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
I don't do movies and haven't in years. It used to be because of the price and other reasons already mentioned. Now, I'll add because of the postings and lunatics looking for their grand exit and world news exposure which the news media are so eager to give them. -
Wife Shooting My Full Auto Tantal

The smile says it all. She was having FUN!! LOL -
These drivers are a PITA, but just last night I had someone pull the 'ol pass me in the left lane, then exit the road we're on right in front of me rather than fall in behind me and THEN exit.....and we are the only two cars on the road.

I drool over every one I see these talented men make. They do sell them on here at times and I've noticed their prices are quite a bit less than the knife stores for similar items and I'd say the quality far exceeds the stores. You gotta be quick though LOL. I'd love to have one, but my budget won't allow it right now. I keep hoping though. LOL!!
