  1. This newspaper has always been a Liberal mouthpiece. They call often offering discount subscription rates. I just tell them I wouldn't take it for free. Old editions do come in handy when I clean fish however.
  2. Yep. Nothing is cheap anymore and they just don't last. The water heater that went out was a replacement for the one in the house when we bought it courtesy of our home warrenty. Luckily it had about 7 months left on a six year warranty, so this one only cost us labor. The water leak was a different animal and cost more than the water heater replacement. Sharing body heat....now that's making a good thing out of a bad thing. LOL   Thanks for the warning. we did crack a window open a little bit in the room where the kerosene heater was at.   I replaced the blower motor in my heating/air unit in June and now the shaft of this motor will move vertically at least a 1/4 inch. The fan was hitting the housing. Of course the motor was made in China as were the last 3 that have been put in this thing in the past 5 years. I think it's a conspiracy.    LOL....I think you're right! But I was cured of that about 25 years ago.   Ouch...now that can get expensive fast. Maybe we're both good for a while now.
  3. Our water heater went on the fritz and was leaking on Wednesday, so we called the people that put it in 5 short years ago to replace it under warranty.  They got here this morning and had the new one in, in about 1.5 hours. Our hot water pressure had been about half of what it should be but the new water heater didn't fix the low pressure problem. The galvanized water pipes to our water heater and the washer was under or in the slab for the last 6 feet. The plumber crawled under the house and finally figured out the hot water pipe was broken/rotted under or in the slab. After about 5 hours of work, they ran new pipes another way and abandoned the ones in the slab and it fixed the problem. Wife and I went to eat a bite and came home a couple of hours later and the house was about 60 degrees. I checked the unit and the fan motor was bad and I had no place to get one until Monday. I now have a kerosene heater and two oil filled heaters keeping us warm. Life since Wednesday has been a challenge to say the least, but I'm hoping for things to return to normal after I install the new motor on Monday. Sucks to be me right now....LOL. Of course, things can always be worse.
  4. Whoa.....I bet that left a scar!!!
  5. Dang....that's a pretty tile floor you'd mess up too! If I mentioned the cold while working on a carb or my outboard, my wife would say "you mean you can hunt and fish in it, but you can't fix a carb or work on the boat motor in it??"....Then she'd hand me my insulated coveralls. LOL!!! She's still a good woman and a keeper. I just pick warmer days to work on things.
  6. They don't call it "The Land of Fruits and Nuts" just because of the edible kind....ya know? LOL
  7. No. That's not him. He has a law care and landscape business and just sells firewood on the side.
  8. My cousin sells split firewood in the Soddy Daisy area for $50 a rick picked up and $65 delivered. At least that's what his facebook page says.
  9. I prefer the eastern side of Tennessee, mainly because I love to fish and there's much more water, but it's all good. Welcome aboard.
  10. Beautiful GT as are all your knives.
  11. Personally, I've thought something happened and Grandma is trying to cover something up from the first time I read the link in this thread. As for all the staircases and boogymen stories?  Stephen King couldn't do it any better.
  12. It's hard to take any of them seriously.
  13. Here is one: http://dcxposed.com/2014/04/27/secret-vanishings-americas-national-parks/ Yeah, it's very strange indeed.
  14. :biglol:  :biglol:  :biglol:
  15. It really boils down to how much you shoot. Occasional shooters won't save much at all and may never recoup the initial investment money required and that's not even counting the time that must be invested in reloading. If you shoot a lot and especially shoot competition, reloading is a must.
  16. :biglol:  :biglol:     GOOD ONE!!!   I gotta send that one to my neighbor. Thanks!!
  17. That's a great looking knife. Excellent work for sure!!  Very smooth lines and great looking scales!
  18. All I can say is, you've done it again GT. I love the African Blackwood scales, but that blade is awesome. You knocked it outta the park again.  I've gotten back into hunting again big time. I might just have to have an awesome GT hunting knife on my side soon. I'm keeping my eyes peeled. LOL
  19. Well, I'm glad to see I'm ahead of the curve on at least one thing in this world. LOL.  I love my Glock 27.
  20. That's a very nice rifle! I do like the Henry firearms.
  21. Haven't they already done this in California on a state level?  Seems like I remember reports of them confiscating firearms from people due to that very thing.
  22.   If someone sold it here, they obviously placed an ad in the "firearms classified" for sale. I'd bet a dollar to a dog turd the NSA has a record of those ads and all others on the Internet, feedback records or no.
  23. I understand, but I was actually thinking about the 2 hour time frame attached to the permit. I rarely shoot more than 30 or 45 minutes due to cost of ammo. I wonder if they have a time clock at the ranges?  LOL.
  24. Well damn. Can't get nutt'n by youse guys, huh?  LOL
  25. i guess he'd just grunt and heavy metal/grunge would play?  LOL
