Blades headed to new homes....April 28th
Randall53 replied to Grand Torino's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
One of these days.......Until then, I'll continue to just drool. LOL -
I know someone that supplies wood to BBQ restaurants and some of them will take either oak or hickory. I can't tell the difference in the flavor of the meat myself.

I am sorry for your wifes passing. You and your family are in my prayers.

TWRA Area Use -- Mainly about Riding in the Areas (MC Ride)
Randall53 replied to a topic in Hunting and Fishing
Some WMA's don't require anything to ride ATV's others don't allow it at all. Catoosa does as long as you have a hunting/fishing license and WMA permit, each $34 I believe. Or you could purchase this: https://www.tn.gov/twra/article/special-use-permits-j1 -
Remington 870 FAB tactical stock removal?
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Thanks again Dolomite. You were correct. I got the pistol grip off and at first didn't see anything, but there was a very tiny hole with a very tiny set screw that held the tube in place. After I got that out, I was able to unscrew the tube and the rest was easy. I now have the original stock in place. -
Welcome back and enjoy! You'll find that most everyone that has a gun or knife for sale lives in nashville or Memphis or knoxville....!

Remington 870 FAB tactical stock removal?
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Thank you Dolomite. I'll give that a try. It looks like there might be access to the grip on the bottom and that could be where a set screw for the buffer tube is at and what the groove is for on the tube. Most of the ones I saw on the FAB website had a threaded nut on front of the tube like Two Dogs mentioned, but this one doesn't and this particular stock wasn't even shown on the website. I bet you are right. Thanks again! -
Dang!! Nice gift....and great GF. Happy Birthday.

Remington 870 FAB tactical stock removal?
Randall53 replied to Randall53's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I don't see one, but I have on other similar stocks. Here's some pics. Maybe somebody will have the secret. Click on the images for a big picture. -
Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)

LOL....yeah. His wife has more balls than he does. -
I bought this for home protection from an individual for home protection and my wife hates the tactical stock. I'm not fond of it either. I have the original black synthetic stock I want to reinstall, but for the life of me I cannot get the tactical stock off. It appears to be screwed into the receiver but it will not come out. It's a rather cheap, simple expendable type with a pistol grip, but i'm puzzled. The only writing on it is FAB MADE IN USA. I've looked on their website but can't find this particular stock. It looks like it screws off, but it will only turn 180 degrees and locks tight. There's no screw in the back that Remington usually uses to attach a stock to a receiver either. Anyone know how these things come off? Thanks ahead of time for suggestions.

Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)
Randall53 replied to monkeylizard's topic in General Chat
It seems to me this show is moving away from the repeated "knife through the zombie head" fetish that the walking dead drove into the ground for the past 6 years and moving towards the even more real dangers in that kind of world which is the living, the anarchy that would exist and the evil that anarchy breeds in mankind. I'm going to give it some more time and see where it goes. I didn't fast forward at all in this episode. That is my go / no go gauge. LOL -
Thanks Sam1. I'm thinking a rider would be best anyway. Thanks to you too hipower. This sounds like something you buy but never get to use due to the hoops they require you to jump through. I'm gonna pass.

I'm getting these emails about firearm insurance valued at up to $2500. Has anyone taken them up on this and is it worth messing with? It says free, but I'm thinking it opens up the door to upgrading it to higher values that ain't free. Anyone?

I want to thank you guys again for all the prayers. My son survived an episode where he stopped breathing and with me trying to help him, he lost all signs of a pulse and stopped breathing at all. He was completely limp, turning blue with no signs of life. I performed CPR for around 15 minutes while talking with 911 on speaker phone who helped me keep focused. I checked 3 times for a pulse and there was none...none at all. EMT's arrived and one of them took over the CPR from me after what seemed like an eternity with me drenched in sweat and I prayed earnestly for the Lord to not take him from us. They began doing their thing but it didn't look good at all. After about 45 minutes with the help of the EMT's and God Almighty he did regain his vital signs and tonight is back home recovering. To those of you that replied in this post, please pray that God would open his eyes and heart to the reality of His existence. Those of you that know Him, know what I mean. -

Scope Mounts....Tapping into the Knowledge Base

So far so good. I got the scope mounted and sighted in. I've put about 25 total rounds through it and so far everything is holding up good. -

I'd say there's some action coming next week. The boat crew seems to be in trouble with a faster boat coming towards them after the girl let herself get fooled into giving up their location to the guy on the radio. I've not seen anything at all concerning a weapons stash on the boat. I'm thinking that Victor probably has one though. He seems to have everything else. He's just not giving it away until necessary.
