  1. Good post Dave. It also shows how much 22 ammo is sitting in closets and ammo safes right now!! LOL. I bet there are millions of homes with 10 to 20 thousand rounds of 22lr sitting in them.
  2. How it's made is a great show. The wife hates it but will watch Suprenatural for hours ......go figure. LOL
  3. I wet shave with a $30 stainless razor I've had for years that takes the old double edge blades. They actually shave much closer, cheaper and easier than the 2, 3, 4 bladed plastic jobs. How many blades are they up to now anyway LOL? A package of 10 double edge blades are around $6 or so and last a long time.
  4. This is some interesting info. I had no idea how 22 ammo was made. The shortage of it I'm painfully aware of. http://newschannel9.com/sports/outdoors/22-caliber-bullets-rare-glimpse-at-how-its-made
  5. Now that was a good episode. So was Festivus for the rest of us....LOL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festivus
  6. I vote for the Glock 43 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEtwi3b5E_g
  7. It's WOOOSAAAAHHH...LOL.
  8. I think since he shot the guy and ran, he's in big trouble and this won't go well for him. If he'd been under fear of bodily harm or death I would think he would have stayed at the scene. It seems to me that many time in a hit and run and this type of event where someone turns themselves in a day or two later, alcohol is involved. I'm sure the judge/jury will sort things out.
  9. I've cooked most of my adult life and actually prefer my own cooking. The wife does good with most things but game is something I do myself. I tried Dale's one time and threw the rest out. I don't know anything that dale's would make better.
  10. AMENDMENT #2 rewrites this bill to make the fee for a lifetime carry permit equal to the regular carry permit fee plus a lifetime carry fee of $200. Under present law, the regular permit fee is $115, so the lifetime permit fee would be $315. This amendment provides that a holder of a regular permit who is applying for renewal may obtain instead a lifetime permit upon payment of $200. Okay...which is it. $200 or $315? $200 for current holders at time of renewal and 315 for new permit applications. Is that correct?
  11. I can see this happening. You just never know nowadays.
  12. The Koran and the ISIS flag are probably still there.
  13. Ya know. After doing some recipe searches I think you're correct. I didn't see one recipe that even mentioned grilling them with a little butter . They all said marinade for upteen hours in everything from dales to apple cider vinegar with hot sauce , wrap in bacon until the breast don't show and bake or grill with jalapeños. I'm thinking this is one of those things you wrap with bacon, cook, then just eat the bacon. I read one place that says dove is a migratory bird like ducks and geese and have nothing but dark meat including the breast. I tried duck once. I didn't get past the first bite. I may just stick with quail. I know how good those are. I probably can't hit a freak'n dove anyways. LOL
  14. I'm going to hit the fields this year for the first time in probably 30 years. So, I'll ask a 2 part question. 1. Does anyone know if TWRA still leases dove fields in the Hamilton County area so hunters can have easy access to fields? I've looked online but can't seem to hit the right key combo to find out anything. 2. What is your favorite dove recipe?
  15. I've shot a lot of reloads from North Georgia Reloading. They have great prices, and are local to me. They also reload with Hornady JHP that I use in my Marlin 44mag for hunting. I've never had a problem with their ammo. Other than that, I'll only shoot my own reloads for the reasons already mentioned.
  16. That is a great son you have. He's proved he has what it takes to take action in a time of trouble. Not everyone has that.
  17. I think her first interest is all about her by making history as the first woman president, then about taking America towards the ideals and dreams of her mentor and idol Saul Alinsky by any means and at all costs. http://freebeacon.com/politics/the-hillary-letters/
  18. While I'm in pretty good shape and work out regularly, I"m recovering from some back issues. What kind of terrain are you doing this on? I don't think a mile or so would bother me if it's not in rough terrain.
  19. I agree. I'm not sure, but I seem to remember the original article said the driver actually just stopped in the middle of the road and walked back towards the follower who shot him and then left the scene. It was a couple of days before the shooter turned himself in. Not smart at all.
  20. Well, I'm a Glock fan and I think the 42 or 43 is what I'd choose.
  21. Here's a short article about someone that stopped to confront another driver that was following too close. I don't get it. In todays asinine world, it's far better to pull over and let the vehicle pass and avoid getting shot or getting into a gunfight with an AH. Both of these guys were old enough to know better than this crap. http://www.chattanoogan.com/2016/7/31/328943/Suspect-In-Road-Rage-Shooting-On-Dowlen.aspx
  22. I envy you AmPaTerry, that's for sure. I'd love to live in a place like that and not so much for the survivalist part, but because I've always dreamed of a place like that I just never made it happen. But I'll have to take my chances if the world goes to pot since I live in the outskirts of Chattanooga. You didn't mention water, but it sounds like you have a lot of things figured out. I do have provisions for a month or so for my wife and I in case of a localized natural disaster. However, I'm a realist and realistically speaking, I feel a major nationwide long term catastrophe or SHTF type scenario, which to me is, being complete loss of the power grid for years if not forever, would take us back to the 1800's in seconds and very few would survive. There would be no clean water, no fuel, no medical help or medicines, no air conditioning, no communication. It truly would be like stepping out of a time machine into the past.....way in the past before electricity and electricity is the heart of our way of life. It gives us everything we have to day. Life back then was very hard and there were much fewer people in those days. The early days of our country is an interesting subject and I have read a lot about it. Even if you know what to do it's a tough way of life day in and day out. The pioneers of our country back in the 17-1800's were very tough and knew how to live without refrigeration, air conditioning, and all of the other commodities we are so accustomed to. They never experienced them and didn't miss them like people today would if they were thrust back into that way of life. The mental aspect of this would really make it hard. Some of the healthy middle aged and older folks and probably some of the young people of today would have the best chance, but even then it would be a major struggle and take a lot of luck. There are those that are pretty much living the life now and nothing would change for them and they would be fine. But outside of these small groups, many people would die within the first week. Most being the very sick and elderly, depending on the season. Take now for instance. The heat we are experiencing would be devastating. So would the cold in winter. Millions would be dead in six months taking the knowledge and expertise of maintaining our current way of life with them making chances of a comeback very slim. With no way to dispose of the bodies, especially in this heat, disease would wreak havoc and is always a major concern in some countries after major earthquakes or hurricanes. Hollywood has their versions of these events, but in the real world I think it would be much worse than we can imagine. I feel even the hard core hoarders would need some luck to make it long term. and many wouldn't make it unless they lived in a place like yours and had enough people to defend it. This is only my feelings on the subject, however, and I'm not saying to anyone else that it's hopeless and preparing is useless, that's just the way I feel. So everyone else has to do what they feel is right for them. I feel your very last statement is the real takeaway from your post. Pray we never experience this.
  23. A great gift! Congrats to the winners!
