There is no way on earth I would sign any petition on that site. Sure, they only ask for your name, email address, and zip code however, they then have a database to pinpoint clusters of dissenters.
Since 9/11 and the creation of homeland security the government, NSA for instance, already knows way more about us all than you can imagine. Data mining is big business. Fr instance, Information has been collected on every phone call made in this country for several years now, and that is just a drop in the bucket. Do a search on government data mining......George Orwell only missed it by 20 years or so.

Most safes are heavy and hard to maneuver. In concrete I'd use red head type threaded drop in anchors that use a normal bolt and washers to hold the safe down over drop in bolt anchors that stick way up over the floor surface when installed. Those will cause you to have lift the safe up over the anchor just so while not damaging the bolt threads. Very hard to do. Drop in anchors can be set flush and you could slide the safe back over the holes containing the anchors and easily line everything up and just use threaded hex head bolts and washers. So, just place the safe, mark the holes, slide the safe far enough to drill the holes and drill according to drop in anchor size requirements and depth. I like red head anchors. Slide the safe back in place, position correctly over the holes and bolt it down. In wood, I'd use lag bolts and washers. I'd drill a small pilot hole first, like a 1/4 inch hole for a 7/16 lag screw, because I've had some lag bolts heads twist off a lot lately without the pilot hole..
I hears ya...point was...he probably didn't get the point you were trying to make if you didn't tell him, otherwise, to him it's just business as usual.
You're right. I did tell him that his prices were way to high, but i didnt tell him i knew what he was doing. That's what I should have done, but I was totally po'd and wasn't thinking straight i guess and just left. I did spread the word to everybody I knew, but ammo was tight and I'm sure he was selling it like crazy or he wouldn't have been wiping out the Walmart every week.
I'll bet he's wondering what happened to you. ;)
No. I'm not nieve mcurrier. Losing my business didn't affect him a bit, even though I had been a customer in the past. I had bought a new buckmark, kel- tec and a couple of Uncle Mike holsters there before that day. It was principle of the matter to me. I didn't go back because of the same reason many don't patronize businesses that don't allow concealed carry. I choose to spend my money in other places and same goes for the pawn shop that uses a Walmart about 2 miles from his business as his personal ammo distributer and jacks the price on ammo meant for everyone in the community at the expense of his neighbors.
-
I ran into this same thing on the last ammo run. A local Walmart was always out of ammo even on the days they said the shipment was coming in. I got a hint from a person behind the counter and visited a local pawn shop heavy into guns and ammo sales. Sure 'nough he had plenty of ammo and was selling it at twice the Walmart price. The disappearing Walmart ammo mystery was solved. I walked out and I've never been back.

Confused about powder grains
Randall53 replied to charlessummers's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Like the others stated, the low number is always the minimum amount of powder recommended by whatever reference you are using when working up a load for the first time. The higher number is the max and not the safe one to start with. I always start out very close to the low number, load 5 rounds or so and put them in a container with all info recorded on it. Then I do the same thing increasing the powder amount a little at a time, maybe half a grain or so. I hardly ever load to the maximum and usually don't find it to be the best load. I'll go to the range with a note pad and my homemade lots and evaluate each one for pistol performance and accuracy. Then, if you REALLY want to get crazy you can take the best load and tweak that up a little and down a little a couple of grains each time and repeat at the range. Some people will even weigh bullets and match them in like groups and start over...LOL. Reloading is a lot of fun and safe IF you use common sense and strictly follow the rules of safety. -
Tennessee house bill to push back against gun legislation
Randall53 replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Just to note, if Congress passes an unconstitutional law, the President signs it, and it is upheld by the SCOTUS because the President has packed it with activists from his side of the aisle doesn't mean the law is now constitutional. The SCOTUS are not the final arbiters of what is or what is not constitutional. That is the state's responsibility, otherwise you would have no checks and balances and the federal government could dictate how it pleases.
I was having this exact discussion the other day with someone. I asked how could a judicial body of 9 people, the ones who now vote their party line no matter what, be corrected? What is the checks and balances to such a powerful group of people? Take the last two justices that's lied through their teeth during confirmation hearings when asked about gun control. Justice Sotomayor, during her 2009 hearings claimed fidelity to the "Heller" precedent recognizing an individual right to bear arms saying it was "settled law". What happens in 2010 when the "McDonald" case regarding that individual right came before the Court? She voted with her three liberal, activist colleagues against it. Elena Kagan used the exact same words "settled law" in her hearings, though she is a supporter of Gun Control and was supported by the Brady Center during confirmation. Four of them are currently in their mid to late 70's? I just hope Obama will get no more appointments. -

Thanks for the replies. I reload hundreds and not thousands of rounds, so the SDB does enough for me. Guess ill get a few quick change kits unless I stumble onto a couple of used SDB'S real cheap. Thanks again.

I don't remember it, especially at this level. I hope you are right though. I feel disarming Americans is national suicide. These are the most dangerous times I've seen in my life with America having so many enemies that want to destroy us. Enemies that don't fear death and would willingly strap on body bombs or drive car bombs into our cities if they get the chance, and will fly airliners into buildings full of Americans. They feel if they die fighting us they will be greatly rewarded by their god. This goes way beyond the kamakaze pilots of Japan due to their knowledge of terrorism, coming here with nothing and using our freedoms against us to obtain information and tools of destruction. Al qaida already has thousands of videos of our dams, our subways our cities.....the list goes on. We have stopped many attempts at terrorism on our own soil, but it's just a matter of time until they're successful with another attack. Another thought. Radical Islam will never go away. World domination is their goal and they will not settle for less. their book tells them they must convert or eliminate the infidel. They are dong it for their god. They are far more dangerous than the nazis were or Japan. They are quietly spreading and recruiting on every continent. They are growing their ranks daily. They blend in with civilians unless holding an AK. I believe very hard times are coming. Ok. I've rambled enough. Where did I put that foil? I need a new hat!

We will all eventually be "deemed" mentally incompetent.

I agree completely. But we all know they get a lifetime free pass. Tweets by the thousands to kill Romney were completely ignored. -
Keep this in mind also, this country will not be allowed to have another Civil War. The minute it looks like this country will descend into anarchy, the world will step in. And it will very likely step in on the side of the officially elected Government. Why will they do this? Two reasons, the first being we have the largest nuclear arsenal. And the UN will want that under control. The second reason will be because we are the world's only super power left and China and Russia will see a grand opportunity to bring us down to their level of even lower. Regardless of the reason, we will all lose, regardless of which "side " we are on.
Actually, Obama has plans to level our nuclear arsenals with those that are below us on the nuclear food chain. And not just a little. This was a year ago: "WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is weighing options for sharp new cuts to the U.S. nuclear force, including a reduction of up to 80 percent in the number of deployed weapons, The Associated Press has learned." There are many very good resources that you can find that reveals this and other plans he has in mind for us.

Thanks hipower. There again, normally, I wouldn't think 60's really a "one foot in the grave" situation. BUT, like I said when there are males on both sides of the family that kicked the bucket in their 60's....well it does get you thinking.

Does anyone use one? I have one with a 380 setup. I'm wanting to expand to 9mm, 32 and 44 mag. I've heard the 44 mag cartridge is at the outer limits of the machine. Does anyone use the square deal for 44 mag? I do fine with the 380. I would be interested in used setups for the calibers I mentioned however.

Normally I would agree, but it seems that our government and the whole danged country has gone stark raving mad. After the last four years, I never dreamed Obama would be heading into his second term. Now we have Reid saying the liberals may eliminate the filibuster in an attempt to have a free reign as far as passing their radical agendas at will. They have a strong desire to shut down conservative radio just because they don't like what they hear, so the first amendment may be next on the attack list.. States and some cities are passing more restrictive gun laws than the Obama administration is pushing for. New York City wants to make 22 oz soft drinks illegal? Lord knows where we're heading on immigration reform, i mean with some states already allowing ILLEGAL residents to have ID cards and drivers licenses with the sky being the limit? I'm not so sure any idea that sounded crazy a few years ago should be ignored now. I never believed I'd see two airliners fly into both trade center buildings and watch them both collapse into the street, but I did. Oh we'll. I'll be 60 next week and no males in my dads or my mothers side lived past 68. Might just be a blessing...LOL. I sure hate it for the young people though if something don't change the pathway we're heading down.

Or being a member of a firearms forum and making statements deemed problematic to the cause. After the liberals tweak the First Amendment after gutting the second one of course. -
About thirty five years ago I was really into backpacking and hiking - fishing in the Colorado mountains around the Glenwood Springs area. A friend had a quick and easy way to make waterproof matches. We would use parrifin from candles, very cheap by the way, that was melted in an old pan on the stove to seal small wooden matches from the tip to about halfway down. You could easily dip a box at a time. We then put them into plastic bottles, put the lid on, then dipped the lid and neck in parrifin sealing the bottle. I actually found some of these bottles in a zip lock baggie several years after leaving that area and the matches still would light and burn very well.

This should be a major concern to all. Letters to our reps demanding they defeat this bill ARE in order. "On January 4, 2013, Rep. José Serrano once again introduced H.J.Res. 15 proposing an Amendment to repeal the 22nd Amendment." "H.J.Res.15 - Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President. 113th Congress (2013-2014)" Read about it: http://beta.congress.gov/bill/113th-congress/house-joint-resolution/15/text

CNN POLL ABOUT OBAMA"S GUN BAN'S
Randall53 replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics

I have been going round and round with my aunt. She is a school teacher in west tn. Has been for many many years. When it comes to guns she is way overboard. She is rabid anti-gun and wants them all gone. I have been explaining to her that there is a huge difference between what obummer is calling military style guns and the real deal. She will not see the difference between a semi-auto and a fully auto firearm. There is no reasoning with her because of what the news keeps spouting. It is beyond me how someone can be so narrow minded. She really believes that if all the guns were taken from the law abiding citizens then there would be no more mass killings and crimes committed with guns would vanish. **sigh**

RobertY, It's been my experience that most people that are truly anti gun and not fence straddlers are already gone over the edge. I asked one not long ago if someone kicked your door in, what would you do? They said "Call 911!!!" I asked if they really thought the police would get there in time to help. They said "they'd better!! That's what my tax dollars pay them to do!!!" I just shook my head and walked away. -
CNN POLL ABOUT OBAMA"S GUN BAN'S
Randall53 replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'd say the number of people that frequent CNN that are anti-gun out number pro gun people 3 to1. The same pole on Breitbart.com would be right the opposite. -
