  1. Our government denounces other countries for attacking and or killing their citizens even during these recent uprisings, yet it does appear our government is arming up to the teeth....also, the recent filibuster by rand Paul clearly stated concern about using armed drones against UNARMED citizens, but didn't mention armed citizens, leaving armed citizens open for attack maybe? I guess its easier for them to judge other countries actions rather than their own.
  2. All of the above mentioned pistols are nice, but don't buy without at least checking out the Taurus PT709 Slim. 7+1 9mm. Around $350 and a great gun to shoot and carry. I have a friend that has one and it's a really nice concealable pistol for under $400. Actually much better than the keltecs in my opinion and less expensive too. I saw one at Academy sports for just under $300 before December. Don't let the price fool you. These get good reviews.
  3. I don't really mind junk mail. I just sort by sender every 3 days or so and delete it.
  4. Tell 'em to bring the flag when they leave.
  5. that would be a wicked assed home protection "load"....but my 870 loaded with 7 rounds of buckshot will do it too.
  6. That's not hard to answer.  I've bought guns and gotten tired of them, or didn't like the fit.  I've bought guns that were a super good deal, then traded them for something else later on that I really had to have. I have a Marlin 336 in 35 Remington that I bought brand new years ago and hunted with about 3 years.  It's been in my safe for 25 years and I've put it up on the board.  I simply can't hunt anymore, I'm 60 years old and don't want it. So I'm trying to trade or sell it to get something else I might want. As with anything, want's change, needs change, hobbies change like bulls-eye match to bench rest, to skeet, to cowboy shooting,  each requiring a different type of gun.  Tons of reasons to trade.
  7. Well....for what it's worth...here's a website that says snopes and their biggest defender/supporter when attacked, are both wrong.  http://www.renewamerica.com/columns/hank/081127   I think using a website to prove or disprove anything is ridiculous, but we all do it and I'm guilty too I reckon. It's the "here comes my boyfriend.....he's a French model" syndrome.   In this instance the IRS publication is reliable proof IMO.
  8. Online today at Ables Ammo: CCI Standard Velocity Target/Plinking Rimfire Ammunition 0032, 22 Long Rifle, Round Nose, 40 GR, 1070 fps, 100 Rd/bx Price?  $32.95 each.  PLUS shipping etc.......   Yesterday, at a local Sportsmans warehouse the price was $9.95 each.
  9. One of my local walmarts has empty shelves, a condition they have been in for weeks. At least when I'm there. I asked about 22lr......guy says he hasn't seen any in several weeks. Probably fibbing but oh we'll.
  10. The real problem is going to be the lack of people that even care about freedoms in the elections. Many Republicans were either LAZY in the fall elections, or just plain dumb for not putting Obama out of office. I wasn't thrilled about Romney, but hey. I wanted Obama out at all costs, and maybe regrouping in 2016. But many Conservative voters stayed home rather than vote for Romney. I heard several I know say so. And that's just in my small circle of friends. The Liberals have a dream and that dream is Marxist Socialism. To get there, all they have to do is get the majority of Americans dependent on Uncle Sam for their needs, get them fired up and then get them to the voting booth, in buses if necessary (sound familiar?). They did an excellent job of it too. They use mental manipulation on the campaign trail by using vague terms in promise after promise, lie after lie, that each person can shape into their own idea of what was said or promised. Take the "Hope and Change" slogan and the "Forward" slogans. These are words that allows each person to conjure up their own images suited to their needs and in each persons mind without any support or explanation by the administration. The Liberal plan is to produce a citizen that is dependent on the government for everything they want or need and do it in huge numbers. They fight against the Constitution by ridiculing and painting anyone that holds it in high esteem as outside the norm and backward ("holding on to their guns and Bibles"). The REAL problem is, the entire political scale has slid to the left. Even the Republicans are moving left. Most of those in the House are more afraid of loosing their cushy jobs and taking the easy road, than doing what they were sent there to do. They are caving in. Our own Bob Corker is a prime example. He was having dinner with Obama, as were 11 or 12 other WEAK Conservative Senators, while Rand Paul was filibustering John Brennan's nomination and doing his job as best he could. I believe the mid term elections will decide the future of our country. The Liberals are fired up. They feel they they are on the home stretch and way in the lead. To them, this is their time of history and on the verge of taking over the country and they are going to bring it on. Hell, they ALREADY ARE.!! Obama and the Liberals know that the mid terms are the most important elections in our history.   I just hope Conservative America wakes up and smells the coffee between now and then! Oh...I sure do hope Magpull sticks to their "mags" on this one.......(got to stick to the thread topic)
  11. Yes at the customer counter. I really don't need anymore but 22LR and they were out of that.  Sold out yesterday before noon I was told.  I'm not sure what they have but they had several boxes on the back counter.  Nothing back in the regular ammo dept.  I did score a couple of lbs of Power Pistol and 500 small pistol primers . They had lots of 1lb bottles of Bullseye powder also if anyone is interested. No lead, no brass as far as pistol stuff.
  12. Just ballleft Sportsman's warehouse Chattanooga. They have the above in back by gun counter on a pallet if anyone is interested about $750 per case.
  13. I bet the shock wave would put him on his butt!  But then, he would live to drink beer again though!
  14. I hope Dave gets close to Chattanooga some time soon.
  15. Well, that's some good news. I hope they pull out of it successfully.
  16. Well, I've gone from searching high and low for ammo, to searching high and low for reloading supplies. I've had a Dillon Square Deal for a little while with 380 dies but haven't gotten around to reloading anything due to time restrictions. Well, now I've ordered dies for 9mm 45 and 38sp.  That pretty much covers all my needs for now.  I've bought a lb of Unique and 1K SP primers back in the summer at a gun show.  I've got brass out the wazzue from gathering from other people that don't want theirs at the range (I know...inspect closely...LOL). I guess anything to do with shooting is just gonna be hard to find for a while.  Every market has it's customers and suppliers and products that's all relative to each other in number and quantity.   I'm hoping Dave will be at a gun show close enough to Chattanooga for me to drive to and load up on Primers, powder and some lead.
  17.   I like it!!!
  18. The story says Rodriguez and the woman was at her mothers house, not at her home which was 25 miles away. They had apparently met at a trade show in the area and she worked for a firearms company, but don't say what kind of job.  The 2 year old son would be a clue, but none of the articles say if he was with his mother or father at the time he found them, it just states that he took the boy to relatives, went home and killed himself.  It could have been a case of poor judgement on the meeting location on Rodriguez's and the woman's part and him being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Only the woman knows for sure. I think it could be either way and could have been an innocent meeting because if hanky panky was going on, why not just go to a motel? But if it was an innocent meeting, maybe talking over a future show at the company where she worked, it should have been done in a public place.  Not in her mothers home nor anyone else's home. Seems strange though that this guy just comes in blasting unless he was just super jealous, or had problems with his wife before with other men. Personally, I've never known a woman I would go to prison over.  Much less kill my self.
  19. Have you ever noticed how Democratic female senators all have "Zackery Disease"??  their face looks "Zackery" like their butts!!
  20. American Thinker and Breitbart......yep. I read them both every day and feel the same way. I also agree that neither sites are the tin foil type. Both have some of the best information available I've found. I do realize that particular article was aimed in the anti-semantic direction, but what really grabbed my interest was the facts surrounding BHO money cuts to our military, yet an apparent spending boom in the area of homeland security where money is no object. Lots of things brought up in the article that would, or SHOULD, make many people stop and go "WHOA".....
  21. I have a 30, 34 and 17. I like then all. I'd say decide on caliber, full size or compact and go from there. I'm partial to 45 and 9mm.mm. My belief is you can't buy a more dependable pistol.
  22. I thought that would ok, but wanted to make sure. Thanks for both replies. I want to upgrade to the Wolf barrel also, but its gonna be a while. Still, even using FMJ will be cheaper than buying manufactured i think.
  23. I understand from reading some articles that lead bullets are dangerous in these guns because of lead fouling. What if you use jacketed bullets?
  24. I read a lot on this website. The articles are written by many different people. This article brings to question the massive arming up within our borders, while disarming our military abroad and across the world. It discusses obama's propping up our enemies, while attempting to disarm the populace. I suggest you read this. Even if you have to climb into your foil lined closet to do so. http://www.americanthinker.com/2013/03/a_government_to_be_feared.html
  25.   I've shot at Bentons.  It's about a little over an hour for me.  They have a good sporting clays, but no skeet.  That is unless they put one in?
