  1. Let me start by saying I do not believe I am entitled to anything. I also recognize the fact there are some people way worse, as far as disabilities go, than me.

So what upsets me is those people who think that space with the blue and white wheelchair sign means it is for THEIR quick trip into the store. Now unless I am having a really bad day I have my wife park in a regular spot so those worse than me can use the handicapped spot. But when I am having a bad day, when every step I can avoid matters, I need to park close or just stay in the truck if can't. And honestly I would gladly walk the extra distance if I could without having issues.

At one point I would ask and EVERY time I have asked if they have a placard, as I stand there with my crutches, they act like I am the jerk and even cuss me out. Because of that I have quit even asking because the entitlement crowd apparently thinks they are entitled to the space I need from time to time.

I wish there was something I could do to the jerks. I was told if I parked behind them and block them in I could get in trouble. Not to mention the person would probably loose their mind. I just wish people would understand that to some of us that extra 50' makes a difference, especially those with breathing problems. Fortunately I do not have breathing problems but some do and have to stop constantly to catch their breath.

    Thanks for letting me vent.

I have the same pet peeve. I confronted a guy one day about it and he cussed me out as well. we both went in the store and went about our day. When I came out the cops were all around his car. I thought that they nailed that guy for parking in the handicap spot then I saw him in cuffs and he was screaming to the cops that I did it. I was not sure what was going on and one of the officers called me over. I went over and found out someone had keyed his car, I laughed and told them no but he deserved it. I asked why he was cuffed, apparently he called saying he was being attacked and when the police got there he got loud and ended up hitting an officer. When I left he had been charged with assaulting an officer, false reporting of a crime, no license, no insurance, expired tags,  and got a max fine for parking in a handicap spot. I left that parking lot with a smile on my face.

  2. I personally like the Ruger route. First it is going to go bang EVERY time. Second you can shoot 38s out of it for plinking( I know that reloading takes out the cost factor) I love my wheel gun and if it were not for the weight of my wheel gun I would carry it all the time. I don't know the exact specs for the rounds 45 vs 357 but I am sure both will get the job done.
  3. Fun pics! Sorry to hear you are dealing with health issues. I can't imagine going through that every day, I am currently bed ridden for a while and can't imagine being like this all the time. You are a stronger man than I. I get some flare ups about 1-2 times a year and I am in bed for 2-3 days and then on crutches for about another 2 weeks. I don't know your specifics but something that has worked for me and cut the pain is the icy hot TENS units. My PT actually told me to get it ( I think he was tired of seeing me) and it has helped pain management. It has been nice to not have to go in for PT everyday to get the TENS. It is not as strong as the pros use but way more powerful than I expected. I will pray you have more good than bad days and maybe we can get more dress up days from you.

PS. Olive still talks about the day we came to see you. She was only 1 but remembers it like it was yesterday.
  4. Don't want to seem unconcerned but it is pretty amazing at the velocity of that little thing when you unscrew the buffer tube. I am surprised the act of unscrewing a buffer tube has not been regulated because they are far more dangerous than most guns. I have lost more than I can count.

Personally I think they are moving with such velocity that they leave our reality and land in someone else's. This is why you always seem to find things you don't remember loosing. That is because in an alternate universe somewhere someone launched their part into our reality.

BTW, this is similar to what happens with socks in the dryer. The swirling motion of the dryer opens up a space/time portal allowing your left, and only the left, socks to fall through. I swear I find single socks that I have never seen before.

    I agree.

BTW if you lost a Hanes Tube sock with red lettering it ended  up in my dryer. I do not or have ever owned tube socks.

  5. I have had the TGO lower sitting in the safe look at me every time I open the safe. I was at the show this weekend and found a builder there that built me a pistol upper for $275 otd. So I figured it was time to use the lower. I headed to another vendor that had complete blemished pistol tube and buffer for $20. I did not pick up a LPK because I figured I could find one for the same price at a LGS. I was running out of time so I passed on that and went home. I had some free time so I went to my new favorite shop and picked up a RRA LPK.

I got home and was a little tenitive to start on it because I had 4 kids to take care of and I usually only have 15ish mins before the Screams of daddy start. This was my first ever lower assembly, I figured it would take me longer my first time. I started by following a write up on how to assembly it, before I knew it I was done! I did learn 2 things: 1 take off rings before starting. 2. ARs are insanely easy to build!

I can't wait to start the next one. I will have pics up in the next day or so.

  6. Went yesterday and today. There is a ton of .22, but all at ridonkulous prices. And I didn't see anyone buying any. I don't get it. Somebody must be buying it at stupid prices or this foolishness would have stopped.

Anyway, picked up some AR parts. One table had a heck of a deal on Magpul CTRs with a riser. J&T had a box full of blem parts. Of course I found it after I'd bought some stuff elsewhere.

Btw, they're still open if someone is looking for a CTR stock.

I dug through that box and got some good deals, I got 2 charging handles and a pistol buffer tube for $25.. One of the vendors there built me a pistol upper for $275.

  7. Found out that one of the BB locations is holding the bulk packs of 22s and placing them out at random times in order to allow people other than (as they said) "cowboy hat" to have a chance at some. I thought that was awesome!

  8. The only thing that irritated me was that they shipped mine Signature Required and had it flagged where I couldn't re-route the shipment. I can understand that with firearms but not with this. Normally after I get the 1st delivery attempt sticker on my door, I can have them drop my parcel at the nearest FedEx store the next day for convenient pickup. I couldn't so that with this one so I had to pony up an extra $5 for Saturday delivery and then hang out at home during my selected 3-hour time window.

That sucks! I will be out of town next week and am not sure of my house sitter schedule. Well it looks like this will be an adventure. I ordered mine on the 12th and I have seen nothing about it being already shipped, so it needs to be here Monday or I will have to jump through hoops after I get back. I was told by Fed Ex that they try delivery 3 times and then they send it back to shipper.

  9. I have 2 of the glock mags. A friend of mine got a bunch of them for dirt cheap and gave me 2. I use them at the range, I played around with the lock on them and it would be a PITA in the middle of the night. They are a laugh!

  10. I have been extremely lucky at the Knoxville location. my wife has sent me on a lot of Home Depot runs lately so because they are across the street from one another I stop in. I have picked up over 3000 rounds in the last 6 weeks. I have picked up 5 525 bulk packs and 10 50round packs. I have noticed standing in line will only get you 100 at a time. All the bulks I have gotten have been after 10am. I walked in one time as they were putting out some bulks at 11. I am going to have fun at the family shoot this year.
  11. Get pictures next time and we will oust him on Facebook, Armslist and any other site we can think of. He is the problem because the second regular people see ammo on the shelves regularly they will quit buying all they can. The scalpers are driving normal people to buy all they can too.

It is not against the law to take pictures of anyone in a public place.

I have a pic but he moved right as I took it. It is blurry but if you have been to the shows you could still make out who he is.
  12. I have Williams fire sights on almost all my rifles. My father in laws eye sight is getting worse and he did I a lot of research and found the fire sights to be the best. I tried it on his marlin and fell in love with the sights. I go to the factory in MI once a year and get at least one gun fitted and the plus side is the retail shop is awesome and they have a range.
  13. A friend of mine works near the Air Port in Maryville. He said the air traffic hasn't changed much. The only thing he's seen out of the ordinary was last Sunday there were KC-10's doing touch and go's the entire day.

Where is MajorKong when we need him?

I saw one do  a touch and go, Kids enjoyed it but I was the whole time thinking how odd that was.

  14. Bought 100 rds of .22 at Academy Monday around 1pm. Asked the cashier about the scalpers and she said they line up still. Then points to the guy that bought 100rds in from of me, theres one of them. "He comes in all day, and with other people to buy for him.

Both Jefferson City and Sevierville walmarts have the same guys doing it for the last year.

The 407 flea market has a guy setup asking crazy money for ammo.  Most of his ammo is what walmart has been getting in. He sells M22 500rd bricks for $75, 1000rd for $140. He hasnt been selling much lately though.

I know who that guy is, I have had several run ins with him. I went to acadmy this morning on my way to get my new cars plates. I figured if I was going to be out that early I should swing by and see what they have.  He was there with another guy and I got my 100rds and went into the parking lot and saw him paying the other guy $10 for $7 in ammo. He said to the guy "same time next week". I was in earlier this month for my birthday picking up some golfballs for my annual round of golf. He was there with 3 other guys and they all got a 325rd box and then headed to the parking lot and saw him paying them for their boxes. He saw I had a box and asked if I wanted to sell mine for $25. I told him that I would not. He got pretty upset and tried to convince me that it was a great ROI.I have seen him in with other guys always buying 22lr. I know for a fact he resells at the shows. I saw him at the last one over fathers day. I swung by his table and ALL the prices were atleast double.
