    4 Lb AR-15

I was surprised how cheap some of the parts were. I was looking at an end plate and nut for the stock and the set was $30 and cut the weight of those in half. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Thanks, I just needed to see if I was way off or doing things right. I am at 22.75with a poly lower and standard buffer and stock. Those will be replaced and I should hit near if not under 1lb. I have shot the poly a lot and it seems to work well but I will be swapping out with a MAG lower after I see how low I can go. I think a new barrel and light bcg I should hit under 5lbs. I will see though. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Out of curiosity what is the weight of the complete lower. After all these threads on ultralight AR, I think I am going to jump in. I am going to start with the lower. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Disregard, another forum had misinformation. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  5. The 99 was my first non 22 to shoot. It was my grandfather's gun. I used to sit on our barn and shoot coyotes that strayed on the farm. It was the first rifle I killed a deer with. My uncle currently has it and I am hoping that I will get it, like you I would like to get it so I can enjoy it with him. My uncle said that was his grandfather's gun. If I get it that means 4 generations will enjoy it. Hopefully one of my kids will want it and keep this in the family. Great gun awesome story, glad you can enjoy it with your dad. 7. I might have a thumb hole stock lying around if you are interested. It might help it qualify. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  8. My understanding is it needs a thumb hole stock and the mag adapter to make the mag not detachable. I would just say no to be safe. It is a good gun and I am sure you will get an offer from a state that is not that restrictive. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  9. We have a foam shop here in Knoxville. I got foam for my case under $10 and they cut it for me. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  10. Range report: I really liked it. If I keep this as is and don't plan on swapping uppers and buy a couple of extra bolts this should be exactly what I wanted. All my complaining was for nothing. It has a shorter LOP, so some of you taller folks may not like it as much, but I like the shorter LOP on a defense weapon. It feels great and shoots great. The stock release button is getting easier the more I use it. Overall I would suggest this stock. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah after I wrote it I realized it sounds bad. I do like the idea and I will see how I like it after a little more time. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  12. In my ridiculous search for an AR stock I like I picked one of these up on a whim. I went with NEA because I could not see spending $100 more on the same functioning stock from another company just because I have heard of that company. I guess if I did a little more research I would probably spent the extra for me and been extremely happy. I am overall still happy with the stock, I still have to go to the range with it. Here are some of my initial complaints. First it does not come with the bolt, not a big deal, I have extras. Second not easy to assemble. The stock goes on easy enough but putting the upper on is a little awkward, it makes the AR harder to take down. Third proprietary bolt carrier, can't just have backups lying around with out sizeable investment. Lastly and really the biggest for me is the latch to extend the stock. It really is a 2 hand operation. I am going to keep working with it and see if I can get better at it. Well I guess maybe I have more issues with it than I thought, lol. I do like the length it cuts the rifle down to. It make the gun more accommodating to smaller bags. The placement of my cheek is very comfortable. I think this style stock would be amazing on a SBR. I will give final review after the range. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  14. It was not really a big deal. I don't mind tapatalk. It just meant I could not use my laptop. I figured I did something dumb and was not going to bother the staff over my mistake. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  15. How did you fix it. I have switched to Tapatalk because of that. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  17. Man, if I would have known that was you I would have come to help. I was going the other way, and you were leaning over the bike. I am glad all turned out well. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  18. Looks like the trigger from POF. It is suppose to help keep a good trigger pull. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  19. They just recently moved the 22 to the gun counter at the Academy in Knoxville. They have had 22 in every time I have been in there in the last month or so. I have picked up a couple here and there. It still has a limit unless you know the sleazy guy that works at the gun counter during the day. I caught him giving one of his buddies the limit several times in a row. The friend didn't even leave the store. He just kept buying and going back for more. So I figured I would try it and he told me it was a 3 box limit for the day. This is the second run in with this employee I have had. He is really helping out his friends. 20. I need my driveway redone. I have had several companies come by and give me quotes. I was dumbfounded at the quotes. They have ranged from 6k to 12k, we do not have a parking lot or anything like that. 50 ft of it is 25ft wide and 68ft of it is 11ft wide. It is a larger driveway but by no means a 6k driveway. The quotes are all for filling the potholes and laying a 2inch of fresh asphalt on top. Input on what some others have paid for a driveway and if these quotes seem fair. If you know anyone that does driveways and you would trust them to do yours let me know. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  21. I bought a Ptac kit last year and have put well over 1k rounds in it and have had no issues. I have used a wide range of ammo so it does not seem picky. I wonder if this is a case of mine is bigger, they paid more so theirs has to be better. I am not saying these are the best uppers on the market but with no issuses and the price makes these a good buy. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
  22. Just ordered a 2nd upper, could not pass up. I had an extra lonely lower sitting in the safe. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

Are shotguns allowed? The part of Michigan I am from only allowed shotguns to hunt. I have had some good luck with that. They make some really accurate slugs now, I wish they had those when I was up there. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk
