Miami to use license plate scanners Memorial Day weekend
LI0NSFAN replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Memphis has been doing that for years. I knew a couple of cops that dropped a car off on the highway and then went up the road a mile or so and when the scanner got something they would hop on the motorcycle and pull them over. There is also a cop that almost every friday night sits at the wolfchase mall scanning plates. I was told if the weather is nice on holiday weekends, they park as many of the cars that have that system as they can and sit on the bikes and wait. With Memphis in May going on I am sure that it will be in full effect. -
Just did the at home trigger job on one of the Mosins, Holy crap it was like getting a totally different gun. I will get a pull meter and see what the difference is. It also feels like a 2 stage, the mod got rid of all the pre travel wiggle and made it a lot smoother of a trigger. Best part is it took 5 mins to do it, and I had the parts on hand so it was free.

I just did my annual spray last night and woke up this morning and not a bug in sight. The ants loved my car port.
-
Does anyone know of a local shop that does this?
-
I love all six of mine. I buy bulk .38 to plink with. You can find bulk 38 near the 9mm price and then I get some 357 to shoot for kick now and then.
-
I do this and I have seen my neighbors struggle but I have never seen an ant in my house. It is a simple fix, just spray the base of the foundation all the way around and they will die iff they pass the line.

The one I saw in a Barn had an attic fan mounted on the wall behind the shooter blowing down range and an attic fan above the backstop sucking the air up and out airducts to the outside. I dont know how legal it is to blow all that lead in one spot. I think there were several filters on it so maybe not that bad.
-
There was an ad last year for a company selling the whole range filtration and all for $10,000. I do not remember who made the lanes.

I emailed him 5 minutes after you. My funds are getting low as well. I got all but one 357 lever for my safe house guns so that took most of the budget. Now I am just getting toys for me.

WATE Knoxville News Segment on CCW Tonight
LI0NSFAN replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I did not want to admit I knew her name. That would mean I am there too much. She was out at the CCA in kingston the last time I was out there. I do not got to either CCA that often anymore. -
So you are the one that beat me to it. Oh well I will get you next time.

WATE Knoxville News Segment on CCW Tonight
LI0NSFAN replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Here is a link to the full segment http://www.wate.com/...-than-you-think It was not that bad, I would have focused more on the female being that she is a self defense instructor. I have talked with her several times and she is very knowledgeable about guns and the laws. I also found a new place to shop, gotta love any place the staff OC's -
Long term storage of ammo *My solution*
LI0NSFAN replied to Caster's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Caster- How many bundles did you get into an ammo can? I might just do this just to get more rounds in my cans. Factory boxes never fit right -
Neat little Kershaw on sale at Wally World for $8
LI0NSFAN replied to JimmyMac483's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I am going to check the Wally here. I need a new beater knife. -
I try to keep 3 for my pistols and 5 for my rifles. More if there is a deal going on mags for what I have. I also try to get guns that share mags so that doubles the mags for each gun.

I love this "diet" I have loosened up a little on it after 3 mo. I feel so much better and have lost 15% of my body weight in 5mo and now I don't even notice the difference in food choices. I did not notice a HUGE weightloss fast but I lost it in a safe way and do not see myself gaining it back because I actually like what i am eating and was dumbfounded by the suguar content in food, so this will be a lifestyle change for me and my family. My daughter is the only one of the kids her age that does not have candy daily and the other parents comment how behaved she is and healthy she looks.

Your buds at predator customs told me to save my time and order a new slide. They wont work on it because it wont look better than it does now. The guy I had do it did a good job of prepping it and duracoating it. I was looking to put a finish on it that draws you eye away from the scars
-
I have a G17 that has some battle wounds. It is the true meaning of beater gun but it still shoots great. I was thinking about having the slide Hydrodipped to hide some of the scars. I will not ever be selling this so I am not worried about resale. I had it duracoated by a guy here in Knox and he did a great job but it still looks battle used. I was thinking of doing a night camo on the slide, that should hide most of the marks and still keep the dark look of the Glock. I had a few questions for the fellow TGOers. 1. How did it turn out? Pics if you have them 2 How is the durability? 3 Who did it? 4. Any suggestions on pattern? Other than night camo.

You can tell what type of gun sales guy by asking "what do you carry and why" It will let you know if he try and sell you what you are looking for.

Just had mine repaired last week. Home warrenty forked out $3000 but it only cost me $60. I will be renewing that warrenty. If you have space do propane and fill the tank in August. The prices are significantly cheaper then. My Uncle switched to propane and he has 8 of the 40# tanks and keeps them in the garage and switches them out as needed so he can fill up when gas is cheap.

Find a gun that fits her hand and has a recoil she can handle and then have a smith lighten the trigger if possible. You will have a little more in cost but isn't it worth the extra to make sure she is comfortable with using it. I am sure there is a smith out there that will help you get exactly what she needs. As far as cal. I would stick with 22mag or 25 they both should be little enough of a kick for her and still hurt enough to slow/stop someone. I had a colt vest pocket that had little to no kick in 25acp, I don't recall the trigger pull on it but I bet that can be lightened.
