1. looks like a soup I ate as a kid, it was pretty good with some venison. I might make it again and see how the wife and kids like it
2. I think he just won the mine is bigger game everytime.
3. The caption changed. It was suppose to read. "NO more Twinkies" I will try to find and relink.
4. http://bookmoo.com/lol-lol-toons/mysteries-of-the-mayan-calendar-revealed/ Thought I would pass it on.
5.
Eddy's is actually a real brand owned by Hostess. Seems to be a western regional brand of bread and cakes and stuff. Goes back a long way before Hostess, lots of antique signs and stuff found for it. Don't know who the "they" is that reported it but perhaps they were idiots who didn't know the difference between Edy's and Eddy's. - OS
IT was the local ABC news that announced the Edy's ice cream was affected. After finding out the ice cream was safe my wife relaxed and had me only pick up 4 things of double chocolate. I was at the Local food city and the bread isle was very low on stock. Plenty of Kerns but that was about it. I think bread will be harder to come by until the other makers beef up production.
6. I got about the same numbers. I figured that going through Nashville that distance is about an hour with little traffic just because of the speed limit drop. That same distance on 840 at 70mph would be about the same and you would not have to worry about hitting traffic. Not going through Nashville would also prevent my wife from hitting her imaginary brake 100 times, and less stressful for me.
7. Is the old part 70 all the way through. I have never been on 840 at all. I think I am going to try it out next time because it looks like I would hit Nashville at 4-5pm on the Friday before Christmas. Looking at it, I think that this would be a great "Shortcut" time wise. I know it is about 20 longer but not having to drop to 55 and not having the traffic jam I seem to hit everytime I go through Nashville makes me think It should be a little bit faster or at least keeps me rolling the whole time.
8. I have heard conflicting reports of the whole stretch around Nashville open. If it is open has anyone used it yet? Is it 70mph all the way through it? I go to Memphis a lot to see Family and wanted to know if it is worth it. You get to bypass Nashville all together, but I don't know if it saves any time.
9.
Are you confused with Edy's Ice Cream? (owned by Nestle/Dreyer). What is Eddy's? (owned by Hostess). - OS
They reported that Edys icecream plants were affected. I thought they were part of Nestle as well but that is what Fox was reporting. Eddy's was a heavy finger spelling error on my part.
10.
Hostess has nothing to match the Oatmeal Creme Pie or Swiss Roll.
+1
11.
I haven't either. I'm more of a HoHo and Ding Dong man, lol.
They make both of those as well. My Preggo wife just freaked when she found out they own edys as well. I guess I will participate in the panic. I guess it is off to the store for Ice cream and a chest freezer.
12. It also means the Merita plants as well. I know some people that work there. It sucks but this is a chance you take when you strike, now no one has a job. Now production has stopped on them until someone else buys that brand. I bet Bread prices go up. If this were a gun related company, ammo would double and be extremly hard to get. Lets see how it affects food prices.
13. I have 2 Buried and filled them with a year of supplies for 5 people. The hole was a PITA but the rest was easy.
14.
Want your mony back Thats a great buy. I just bought a 1982 Marlin 336 in 35 Rem this week for $250 also!!! Must be a good week. Bad thing is then I needed a chainsaw instead so i had to sell something eles to cover it!
A couple boxes of shelss may take care of that tree!
15.
I wanna know how it is that you have lost ALL of your preps. Why were all of your eggs in one basket? You expect me to believe that all of properly prepared persons things were compromised? Sorry but that's First off, a fella that's got his act together has MORE one and by more than one I mean three minimum stores. A main stash may be lost but back up stores should be elsewhere so you aren't left with whizzin in the wind. It starts with all the great goodies at home, then a mortar can or ammo cans stored away, or even a sealed five gallon bucket. You'd be surprised what you can get in a five gallon bucket. Second, if you HAVE put all your eggs in one basket, and your handle breaks causing you to drop all your eggs, well....natural selection says you deserve it. No mercy for the stupid.
I have had A LOT of people out to my property to look for my shelter and no one has ever found 1 of 3 entrances and they knew there was a shelter there. I also have supplies in 2 other places so I guess I am with you. I cant figure how I could loose ALL of my supplies. I have buried a couple of IBC tanks with rations and supplies. It is amazing how long you can survive off and IBC full of supplies. So even if they find my shelter and clean it out. As soon as I secure it again I can restock it. If all else fails I have land in Canada.
16.
I voted for Mark Clayton!
I did too!!!!
17. I don't have much experience with grow lights, so i would be the wrong person to ask. We had our setup in a greenhouse.
18. we used Tilapia. The only issue I see with having a smaller tank is how fast these fish grow. You would also need a breeder tank to replenish the fish you eat. I would never ever knowingly put a male and female Tilapia in the same tank, they reproduce so fast you would have a huge population fast. A good thing to think about is you want to keep a ratio of 1 gallon per .25lbs of fish. On Average Tilapia grow to a size of 5lbs meaning 20 gallons per fish. You also have to have various tanks for various stages of Fry if you are going to do the breeding yourself. The bigger fish WILL eat the smaller ones. Tilapia have a life span of 10-20 yrs which is good but the meat is best in the first 3yrs, so using it for a food source might be tricky if you don't breed them. FYI harvesting egg make for funny videos. I liked the setup that you have a link on building an IBC aquaponic system. It looks like you could keep around 10-12 fish in it which would be enough to fertilize the plants.
19. Great site for the fish side of the system. We did not go the hybrid way but it looks like it would have made things a lot easier. http://www.tilapiafarmingathome.com/Pages/default.aspx
20. The FFA chapter I belonged to had one of these setups and I maintained and expanded that system for 3 years. It works great, but it is a full time job on the fish side. Even with auto feeders and almost everything automated we still had to work 5-6 hours a day checking ph, harvesting eggs, seperating male and females, and getting out the aggressive fish. even with the natural filter of the plants we still had to drain and refill the tanks because the PH was getting toxic and additives were not working fast enough. We did it on a very large scale and sold the fish wholesale and had huge plant sales 3 times a year. It may take a while to get the right setup, but once you do it should work great.
21. I was doing some sanding and stopped for a second to move my cord. I made sure not to hit anything and was just about to fire up the sander again and all of my stuff fell. I was pissed at myself until a neighbor came ofe a few minutes later and asked if I felt the ground move. I just laughed it off and figured he saw my stuff fall and was giving me a hard time. When I went in I saw on FB that there was an earthquake. I guess I did not knock that stuff over.
22.
I don't see Obamacare as an accomplishment for us. I hate Obamacare because my medicine is now super high. But it is one of Obama's few political victories for himself.
Our insurance is $40 more a month now and we will now be taxed on what the company pays for our health ins. That will cost us about 500 a year, so that total is about $1000 a year more in taxes and fees that Obamacare is costing this middle class family to pay for his victory. That does not include the fact that our deductible and max out of pocket was changed by the insurance company.

I coached middleschool for a while and I wish I would have had a player like that on my team. She is fast, has moves and can takle.
24.
I know many of us feel the same way, but I will never give up. I'll not quit the fight until my last dying breath. Our country and those who have in the past, and continue to fight for our rights and freedoms need every single one of us to stand and continue the fight. Never surrender!
I agree, I feel that giving up is like pissing on the graves of all those great men and women that died for our country.
25. I don't think Obama is doing a great job, could Romney do better, I don't know. I just think that if you are having finanical issues you take that to a person that has financial experience. If you are having diplomacy issues you take that to a carrer politician. I think that right now our financial issues here in the US are worse off than the diplomacy issues. I did not think that Romney was going to save the country but I thought he could slow the bleeding.
