  1. I am in the same situation. I have heard nothing
  2. That was kind of what I was thinking.
  3. I highly doubt that Davids mark up is that high. He has more integrity than to mark up an item just because he can. He has always been more than fair on his prices and I assume he will stay that way.
  4. I have practiced changing mags and can change them without skipping a beat. With the price of the 33round mags I just can't afford to get them anymore.
  5. Acadamy here in Knoxville still had some 40(even the cheap stuff) They also had plenty of 38, 357mag,357 sig. Also the WW on Walbrook had plenty of 7.62x39.
  6. I was able to pick up some uber cheap 10 round mags for some different guns. Hey if they ban hi cap and want you to turn them in I will still have some mags.
  7. I will admit I am not a handgun "slappy". I have some  and like them but my love is bolt action rifles. I have been picking up mags and parts for guns I have for about 6mo now. I was on Ebay today and noticed that non  "assault weapon" mags are cheap. I was able to pick up some g17, sig, and ruger mags for $10shipped. I was thinking that getting 3 mags a $10 is better than buying 1 33rounder for $30. My thought is that having more mags to spread around ie. nightstand, car, shop, bathroom, coffe table and closets. That way no matter where I am there is a spare mag or two, plus carrying a 33round mag is not comfortable. I have several 17 round mags for the glock and the 10's would just be extras.  Am I going about this wrong?
  8. sign up the wife or gift it to a family member. I just signed up my whole household. I am going to have fun at Bass Pro!!!!
  9. I meant that I was suprised that the bikers did not get more press
  10. I hope he is right. I see the gunshow loophole going away and maybe it cost more for a CCW and the extra cost going to "Crime Prevention"
  11. Looks like westboro members chickened out. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/19/westboro-baptist-church-protest-newtown-victim-funeral-_n_2331880.html Why this did not make national TV news I have no Idea.
  12. Same thing happend to me. I spent almost as much to ship as I did on the gift. Next time I will buy a smaller item that fits in a regular box.
  13. You must have gotten them from a quality guy like David. My emergency retailer jumped 20% since last month. I just stopped by this morning to get some powder, I decieded to wait until I can get to a show.
  14. I think you meant small town in Michigan. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=hell+wisconsin&ie=UTF-8&ei=mR7TULbWKJTV0gGv-ICABQ&ved=0CAsQ_AUoAA
  15. I always buy enough mags to have 200+ rounds preloaded in mags and ready to go. I figure after 200 rounds the badguy will be either out or one of us hit to the point that the firefight is over. if there is more than 1 badguy, I probably dont have a chance past 200 rounds anyway. I buy those mags at time of purchase of the gun. I had a pretty good level of ammo anyway. I am kicking myself on not stocking up on reloading supplies. I am not sure when I can get to see David again so I might have to go get some from LGS and that might be tricky. I think I have enough to get me 6mo of reloading and maybe by then this will have all calmed down a little and the secondary market will be fine. I think that with the price gouging going on,retailers are going to see that people will still buy this stuff at inflated prices and wont drop back to pre gouging prices. I don't think that we need laws to limit guns we are doing that just fine ourselves.
  16. Walmart in West Knoxville had around 300 rounds of 223 and 1000+ rounds of 7.62x39 and seemed to have a little of about every caliber. None of the stuff was the cheap stuff but they had some, and I refrained from buying them out just because they had them in stock.
  17. A group should get together and do what the students from Texas A&M did. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/06/texas-am-students_n_1653002.html  Maybe a group of NRA members or another gun group.
  18. They are exceeding the bandwith allowed through the website manager. If you keep trying it will let you in everyonce and a while but there is a black bar at the top that says "Views/day limit exceeded" I bet they are just getting overloaded.
  19. I love  this idea of teachers or more officers being armed at schools. I visited an inner city school that had a great idea that seems to work. It was put in place because gang members would come in the school and shoot rival gang members. They had those buzzer locks put on all classroom doors with bullet proof glass on the door. You had to be buzzed in and out of ALL doors in the school. the only time doors were unlocked was when classes were changing. All of the doors also had alarms on them if they did not close after 2mins so noone could prop a door open. They also had an override in the office so they could unlock all doors at one time for fire or emergencies, they could also lock all doors to help control any threat. It sounds drastic but they had 5 incidents after implementing this and all the threats stoped after the word got out that the school goes on lockdown at first sign of a threat. Plus they saw tardiness and general misconduct go down 75%.
  20. David I am the same way, I never believe this kind of stuff . I am very glad you posted it, it made me go back and double check sources and one had a disclaimer saying they had been hacked. I am actually trying to prove no link to LIBOR, but it is hard to do. GE owns 49% of NBC so they are obviously linked. GE Capitol work closely with both FICO and LIBOR for financial purposes. I also found it weird that both shooters came from affluent families and had fathers that had very important financial jobs. If nothing else maybe we should start adding "father is in finance" when we profile mass murders.
  21. The gift I sent out came back saying they moved with no forward address. :-(  I double checked the PM I got with the address and I sent it to the right place.
