1.
From what I've seen lately, a 100% markup isn't unusual.  SIG 716's were retailing at $1800 about a month ago and now they're fetching $3500-5000 on GunBroker.   Someone is likely to pay it.
Sweet now I have a 1k glock.
2. Looking at getting a p6 by the end of this weekend. Anyone seen one for sale anywhere.
3. I think it is a good thing. It might help the stock levels, because you wont have a guy go in and buy up the whole shipment of ammo. That should mean the ammo stays on the shelf longer making panic buyers slow down a bit after the 3rd or 4th time they go in and there is ammo on the shelf.
4. The assault weapon ban part went into effect on Tuesday. They now have 1 year to register the weapons they already own. I can not seem to find the exact bill signed but it looks like most of the bans went into effect Jan 15. I found it funny you could own a 10 round mag but cout only load 7 rounds in it.
5. I was told by a district manager that some stores will stop selling ammo and guns but that was the plan BEFORE the current situation. Several locations were going to start slimming the sporting goods sections at the start of this fiscal year. He said that the slimming down is being put on hold at least 6mo due to the amount ALL stores are doing in the sporting goods dept. The stores that were scuttling the sporting goods were the stores that the sporting goods did less than 1% own non food sales. It is a fiscal des ion not a political one.
6. I do not read many Liberal articles, most twist things around and if you don't reserch it you could believe it ( I see this type on both sides). This is the first time that I read on the flat out is wrong, no twisting just opinon with lack of facts. I cannot believe people that the "disarming" meant they could not own guns. Well I will let you read it and see what I mean. Leave a comment on that page to see how many pro-gun comments we can get on there. Remember be nice, no name calling or foul language, we need to be the adults and conduct ourselves with decorum if we want to change anyones mind.    http://www.politicususa.com/tea-party-darling-sarah-palin-disarmed-alaska-state-defense-force-militia.html
7. Actually if your credit union is a part of the credit union network you can use any other participating CU. I am a member at a CU in MI and I can use just about any CU just like it was my home branch. I make deposits at a CU here into my CU back in MI. The CU I use here has the machine and I have actually scored silver someone left on the magnet. I also find Canadian coins stuck to the magnet all the time.
8. Thats weird I voted before you and my vote was 4743 for none
9. You have to also take into consideration that most anti gun people don't work so they have been voting all day. Another thing is how many pro gun people go to CNN for there news. I know I don't
10. Was at Gander and they had all except 223 and 22. 9mm was $44 for 50 though. The rest looked like it was at pre November Gander prices. A little higher than I like but it is still there.
11. I love my 228, That is what I caught the Sig bug on.
12. I guess I missed some stuff. I have talked to a couple of non gun owners today and they asked be what I am going to do now that there is an AWB, and a Mag ban. I told them that there is no ban. They laughed at me and said yes there is he signed 23 EO's yesterday banning all Assault weapons and magazines over 10 rounds. I told them that I read the EO's and none of them do that and that he has to wait for Congress to do that. The then told me that they have read several articles and seen a couple reports say that he signed the bans into law. I read some of these articles and if you are uninformed on EO's and did not listen to the speech, they really make it sound like he already banned this stuff.
13. I went out looking today and gander had some 226 in stock but wanted $1000. Academy had one for 800. I would love to get a sub $400 P6, I would pick up 2.
14. I agree. I think the Pro gunners won this battle but there are plenty more battles to fight in this war
15. Based on some comments I have seen. It will be a long time before the supply of tinfoil is back to normal prices along with gun prices.
16. +1 that is how it should have always been.
17. Looks like most of it is to strengthen current laws and adds incentive for schools to have SRO's. HIPPA laws are not being violated by reporting threats. HIPPA only protects your medical records from being shared with the public. Records can be shared to LEO if a threat is present.
18. It looked like to me most of the EO were just cleaning up laws already on the table. Most of the EO's just clarify the law that is already in place.
19. I have seen a few I tems up for sale for a donation to NRA on ebay. some were for silver, gold and hunting items. I was looking for some NRA stuff for a display and came accross people selling these items for a donation to the NRA. This is a grat idea.
20. My step dad and my sister both have been on meds for depression and if my mom was not a nurse and noticed some early warning signs they might have gotten violent toward me or my mom. They both started showing signs of aggression shortly after starting the medication. They both said the meds put them in a fog, they knew that they were acting different but had no control of it. They said it was liking watching a movie, you knew it was night right but you could not do anything to stop it. I think we need to take a STRONG look at medications for depression. I think a trial period with weekly DR visits to make sure the meds are not having undesired results would be a good idea. We should also treat all Medications like we treat hardcore narcotics. As you can probably guess I a do not like medicines and thank that the world would be better off with less dependency on medicine. I do understand that meds help a lot of people and they can do some great things but I think there is some cases that meds are just used as an easy out.
21. So when will the background checks for ammo start in NY. It is law now so how long until it is enforced. I can not imagine having to wait for my background check to come in just to pick up some 22 ammo. If they use the the same background system as they do for the guns it will bog it down and then you might be waiting for over 2 hours just to pick up ammo. I can not imagine the legistical nightmare at the range with a rental gun.
22. I am looking at picking up another Sig. I have delt with a p6/225 and liked a lot and am leaning that way. I just wanted to know if anyone has shot both for comparison and what you thought. I like the SA/DA of the p6/225 but am not stuck on that feature, will most likely have it in DA most of the time. Just looking for peoples opinion of the feel of each gun, they are both Sigs so both should have good accuracy. I am having a little trouble finding a p6/225 or a reasonable priced 226 (other than IRO-bot, he is just to far) that I can order or pick up in the knox area, so any help on that would be great. Thanks
23. I am concerned that one hot can make this go south fast. I would love to see a more organized rally with a group to regulate stupid. I hope it goes well and it turns out to be a good thing for the gun community.  I still think that some anti-gun people are going to go and drumm up some trouble just help the anti-gun groups.
24. Blurs "It's the end of the World"
25. Just left my WW and the guy behind the counter said he is getting ammo in almost everyday and it sells out within an hour or so no matter how much they get in. He said they got a bunch of ammo this morning and it was gone in 30mins. He said they don't even put it in the display, just sell it straight out of the shipping box.
