  1. I bet GM has them in stock for a Fathers day Promo. The only other times I saw more than one in stock they run a sale on them a couple of weeks later. They were the same price that time as well (2+ years ago). It was all I could do not to laugh at the sales guy when he told me they were $179+tax and tics. I had just picked one up at a LGS the day before for $125 otd. I looked in the Sunday paper a week later and Gander had them on sale for $109+tax and tics. Considering I have only seen them in stock there is right before a sale, keep your eye out for a sale, especially if they have a lot of them.

  2. G17 that is so beat up I don't think I could sell it if I wanted to. It is rough looking due to a fall it took, and 2 years after the fall it started having feeding issues. It has pretty much been rebuilt on the inside and we still can't figure it out. It is now safely sleeping snugly in the case with 4 mags. I don't know if I will take it out except for range time.

  3. No surgery! the doctor does not like to cut open a knee on anyone under 45 unless completely necessary. I am to take it easy this weekend and see him on Monday and if it still looks the same I will be able to get back on my feet next week.

  4. I had yet another DR. Appt today and I think my body is quitting on me. I went in last week for
what I thought was a heart attack. It ended up being extremely high BP. Then I go in today becausey knee was really swollen and extremely painful. I found out I have a minuscus tear and have a sergical consult in the morning. While looking at my X-rays the Dr. said that I have the worst knee she has ever seen. It is so bad they are looking into replacement. The really sad part is I have always felt that was my good knee. I just can't believe after all the years of no issues this all came about in 8 days. Oh we'll I guess it just means I get to spend more time with the kids.
  5. Very close friends of my family are Amish. They are great people and they make all kinds of food for us. My favorite that they make is the jam that my friends wife makes. I mentioned that it would make a great PB&J, he went to the cupboard and grabbed a jar of JIF. He said that the homemade stuff is not nearly as good as JIF. I go up in August every year to visit them so if anyone wants real Amish food, let me know and I can load up my car.

  6. It looks like they are not reporting on "street crime". I have read several local stories from around the country that have involved rifles with high cap mags and that is as far as it get. I have noticed that most if not all articles have used the term "street crime". Maybe it is so commonplace in those areas it is not sensational enough. There is more  of a story when the witness can say "i can't believe it happened here, it is so quiet around here"

  7. I had my roof replaced about 2 years ago, and the contractor did a poor job picking up nails.  So I use one of those 40% off coupons from Hobby Lobby, and purchased a metal detector.  I figured the avoidance of flat tires on the mower and kids with nails in the feet was worth the price I paid.  I have taken it to the local school playground, and I am up some $0.64 in finds.

I got mine from academy, I was sent a 20% off coupon in the mail. It did not work on ammo or guns so I went in looking for shoes. When I was checking out I glanced over at the metal detectors and saw that they had put some on clearance. This metal detector was 49.99 marked down from 179.99 so I used the 20% off on the metal detector and paid the sale price of 29.99 for my shoes. I paid $40 for the metal detector and I feel that I have already made my money back just in entertainment. The value of what I found is probably less than $1 but I had fun learning how to use it.

  8. I have heard of and had one myself that went out shortly after changing the fluid. Some say it is because gunk gets loosened and moves around and blocks passages.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

my trans acted up right after the required fluid change. I was so mad, it had never had a single issue before that.

  9. I got a stellar deal on a metal detector and I just was able to try it out. I was out for 30mins in my back yard and had a lot of hits. I found and old fence line, some old nails, a chunk of metal in the shape of a triangle, and a few coins. The only thing worth mentioning was a  1942 Belgium 1 franc. It is not worth anything of value but has an interesting history. This coin was minted by the Germans in WWII during the occupation of Belgium. It is considered an occupation coin in Belgium. I was thinking of taking the beat up 1942 Nagant stock and inlaying it in it, lol. I have only done about 1/10th of my yard and I have found 5 pennies from the 40's and the Belgium coin. I can't wait to get out and find more.

  10. I was told that the med I was getting was no longer a "preferred" drug. I called my insurance company and they said that Walgreens charges the insurance company too much for that medication and that is why it is not a "preferred" medication. They said I would have to fill it elsewhere to have it covered fully. the medication was going to cost $78 at walgreens and I went to Target and it was covered and only cost me $4. I was talking to the Pharmacy guy at Target and he said he is seeing a lot of people switching from the big places like CVS/Walgreens/Rite aid because of the same thing. He said it is because of the deals they are making with the drug companies.

  11. I have sold somethings in the last 6mo and between the ebay and paypal fees you are looking at 15-20% right off the top. I have basically given away most of the stuff I have listed lately. I only resort to Ebay after my stuff has sat on Craigslist or other sites first.

I know a lot of people that have shut down their Ebay business because they just were not making money anymore.

  12. Is that baby breast fed? We had all that crap (literally) a few months back and my little girl was about 2 weeks old. She was the only one that didn't get sick. Our doc is old school and big on breasts, says breast milk is full of antibodies and that's likely why she wasn't violently ill like us. Plus they carry immunities from the mother for a while I was lead to believe.
Sucks though cause if she does get sick there ain't much you can do. Bout all you can do is keep doing what you are as far as cleaning and stuff though. I'm sure you and her have been exposed to it hopefully ya'll can fight it off.
(I had it on election day and decided I'd risk sh!ttin' my pants in front of many people i know in my community to vote against the one they call president.)

she is breastfed, and we look like we are in the clear. The newborn and I are doing great. The wife and the 1 and 2yo are a lot better.
  13. Sounds like you might quarantine the baby instead of everyone else.  Perhaps use an air purifier in the baby's room.   I fully understand the paranoia of being sick when you've got an infant.  It sounds like you're doing all you can.

The baby is in a room by herself with the doors shut and sheets thumb tacked on each side. I am the only one in or out. I change clothes and use sanitizer before I go in. We have the AC off and windows open. I cant think of anything else to do.

  14. I'd just get Lysol spray. My wife caught a violent stomach bug during our trip out to Vegas. Being cooped up in the hotel room with her, I sprayed the ever living daylights out of that room. I never caught it. :-)

So far it has worked, the kids started vomiting on Monday night and I have been the one taking care of them and I have not caught it yet. I just figured setting off 3-4 bombs at a time throuout the house would save me a little time and allow me to use that extra time to sleep. I have not gotten much because I am spending almost all day spraying Lysol on everything. The bombs would atleast get the floors and the tops of everything.

    food for thought:

A comment by a lysol person!

... sorry a fogger/bomb type product would not be an effective surface disinfectant due to its limited and possibly uneven coverage of surfaces. Lysol® Disinfectant Spray, in its current form, offers a much more effective solution as it can be used accurately on a specific surface target, especially areas that are prone to carry germs such as handles, knobs, counters and other commonly touched surfaces.

I figure that is legal mumbo jumbo, they are just covering themselves just in case someone gets sick

  15. I have a VERY sick family (mom and 2/3 kids) right now and with a 2 week old I need to kill as many germs as possible. I have so far prevented her from getting sick but now that my wife has caught it, it is getting harder to fight it. I have found online products that are basically Lysol Bombs. They are disinfectant foggers. I am not looking to replace the normal disinfecting that I am doing I just want to add this to the cleaning. I would like to "bomb" the room that the sick kids are in when they go to bed and then "Bomb" their rooms when they go back to quarantine. I have gone through 15+ cans of Lysol and would just like to make life a little easier by going over high contact areas with bleach or lysol and "bomb" the rest of the room.

Does anyone know where I can get these locally? If I order online it will take to long to get them as they cannot be overnighted.

  16. Problem is its a 2011 Land Rover. So if the factory didn't configure the computer It can't be added and work with the touch screen like it should

I used to work for a Land Rover dealer and I was told that they can add any factory option at the dealer it just costs a lot to do it. I would force the dealer to do it or find you a Land Rover that already has it and has the same options and no more miles than you have, all at their cost. I have seen it done with a ripped seat so this should be doable as well.

  17. Wow I would have enver expeceted that. I am used to the astronomical prices at the toyota parts ocunter though haha. I have never been to the Chevy dealer. I figure I will take one day and ride around and let a few folks look at it and get some quotes. Any ideas what a job like this might run me?

every paint guy is going to be different. The guy our dealer used worked on for about $40/hr. I don't know if it was a good deal or not but I felt it was for the quality we got and as fast as our car was ready. We dropped it off in the morning and we picked it up the next morning. The dealership said he did not come until 2pm and was there for 3 hours. So we paid $120 and he basically re painted the drivers side. An idiot at food city ran his truck along the driver side it didn't dent anything but scraped the paint along the whole side. It was cheaper to use him then file an insurance claim.
  18. Best chance would be a body shop or a mobile paint guy. The mobile paint guy that the dealership we got our "new" car at did an amazing job. He wet sanded and blended new paint to the point that it looked just like factory paint. I have worked at dealerships in the past and found for the money they do the best job. I was told they do it for about 1/4 the cost of a body shop.

  19. I have had several friends that have adopted through Bethany Christian Services. I know that all of them had 10+ guns in the house and all have their HCP and one told me that the person doing the interview just asked if there was any firearms in the house. They said yes and that was the end of it. In one case they actually had more of an issue with the pool. They forced them to put up a fence before they would even finish the application but never even asked if the guns were locked up. I guess ever organization is different. I would HIGHLY suggest Bethany Christian Services
