  1. I admit I cursed the Chinese for making an inferior piece of equipment... Now I gotta send out 1.3 billion apologies. Do you think they all have email?
  2. Dang! Thanks you guys!!!
  3. Just shorted it and it reads zero.. It is noise.. I don't think I'm near an AM station but I don't know for sure.
  4. Ohhhhh it is micro volts. I see an "M" on the display. Should it pick up noise with no leads?
  5. Yes it does... I'll return it. In the mean time, I do have a Sperry clamp meter that I think requires a bachelor degree to use but I'll figure it out enough to get through the job.
  6. David It does the same thing with or without leads.. I think it has got a "bug" inside. Right now with leads in it shows -290 volts DC and climbing. My 30-year-old cheapy worked great. It was a sad day to throw it away. I think you are right, I'll return it.
  7. I got a new digital multimeter last week cuz I left my 30-year-old multimeter out in the rain. So, this is a Klein MM200. My question is even WITHOUT the leads plugged in on both AC and DC the display is constantly changing volts ( negative 90 to positive 30) and NEVER shows ZERO. The leads are not plugged in!!!! With the leads plugged in it does the same thing. I'm trying to wire a 7 wire trailer plug and I don't feel I can trust this thing. I surely can't trust it on the blinker wires.... It works fine on an AA or the truck battery but I don't need to measure any known voltages. Any ideas other than trash it?
  8. I just went through some of what you are going through. I was torn between thermal or NV. I went thermal route because with thermal I can see something sitting still if it is camouflaged. You do get what you pay for like with anything. From what I have read if you can't focus it everything "hot" is a blob. THIS guy gives a great review with explanation. If you decide to go with OP do call and work em hard on price, they deal.
  9. I used Heartland Roofing when I live in East Nashville. I had good luck.. I'd get multiple quotes for sure..
  10. I am near Fairview. So that kinda makes that it an easier decision. I don't want marginal 3G because I have to tether for my computer internet. I am happy with my Verizon coverage. When I travel I rarely have any issues with coverage. Thank you guys.
  11. Google Project Fi This looks interesting. I was thinking of going with a Nexus 6P and found the Fi Project. iPhone fanboy drawback: Only Nexus phones work on their network. We are using Verizon and I really don't have any complaints except cost. I feel like we could get a cheaper plan, somewhere. Google Project Fi looks like a very simple, reasonable alternative to one of the main carriers. Anyone using Fi and have an opinion one way or the other?
  12. Vapor barrier is a good idea! A whirly vent on top would get the air moving but that's another place for critters to try to get in and rain will get in.
  13. I had two MobileMinis for a couple years and liked them. I felt my stuff was secure but the things I found to be a problem that were not mentioned above (I don't think was mentioned). 1) bottom is made out of wood. With that being said, it's not going to keep mice or snakes or other creepy crawling things out. Side note: Was told it has a wood floor so they sink when they fall off ships. Must happen a lot. Was told by a ship captain that. Captain said they don't want large metal "bobbers" floating around in the ocean. 2) although there is a lot of room, what you put in the back is going to be buried in there when you want to use it. Unless it's just used for long term storage. 3) hot summers in Tennessee will make it literally rain inside the unit unless you are in and out every day. Trapped moisture will build up fast and it will eventually turn into condensation/rain with cool nights and hot days. My unit was on prepped ground and 4x4's. Probably better to be on a slab, less ground moisture. 4) with number 3 being said stuff inside rusts or molds really really fast. I would still use one but my mission for one would have to be very specific.
  14. YIKES!  I've had one side not both.  2 days after the surgery I felt likeI had been shanked with a rusty shiv.  When they tell you rest, rest..  My meds made me feel like I could get going sooner than I should.   Get well soon!!  Prayers.....
  15. I have a old iPhone 3 and 4.  The 3 boots up and the 4(maybe a 4s). Are they worth anything or should I toss them?    The are GSM phones.   Thanks
  16. Funny reading the bill's cosponsor is Crapo.  I am childish, I know.     I too really, really wants this to pass.
  17. Very Merry Christmas.
  18. The "new" install is on the in-laws second home.  They could get DTV to install they dish but it would require an separate account for a house they use only a few times a year.
  19. Thanks!  I may have to get courage up enough to try it.
  20. Thank you guys.  I'll see if I can find a cash installer with the meter and compass thingy..
  21. How hard is the dish/antenna install?  Do I need a signal meter for proper reception?   Thanks in advance..   Tw
  22. Very, very good quality!  It's better than the OEM rail. (I think it was OEM)
  23. nightrunner, I got my mount today!!! Thanks again!!!!
  24. ScalarWorks will have my mount ready by the 16th. YEAH!!!! Thanks again nightrunner.
