Most of the time, the cameras are fixed position. Locals have learned go around them. Visitors get hammered (stupid people..you better not come back and violate our traffic laws!).
-
Fine. I have not tripped any either. My point is not constitutionality, but simply cause and effect. Traffic cameras are only one issue there. Show me net economic growth in Oak Ridge. In fact, show me even a trend curving upwards. The cameras are a symptom of larger problems. Getting rid of anything other than the people who propagate the problems (*in any city*) will not help. B.

It made a difference with me. I can't be the only one. Walmart is 9-12 miles in three directions. Now I shop the one at Exit 122 or Clinton HWY most of the time. I also changed my routes to avoid TCs (and OR in general when possible). Apparently TN Sales Taxes are the highest in the nation (OR taxes highest in TN). Traffic cameras in of them selves do not directly cause this, but they contribute, and are symptiomatic of the problems with administrations that choose to deploy them. It also seems that in general, Oak Ridge has sure lost more economic support in the last 5 years than it has brought in, especially compared to Clinton. But, I lay this at the feet of City Council.

I have been wading and the Clinch all my life. Between the dam and the bridge at Eagle Bend is like no other waters. It is awesome. But, whether you wade, float, or even fish from the bank, be aware of and prepared for the hazards. Mostly steep banks, extremely cold water, *fast* rising levels, strong currents at times; *Thick & sudden* fog, shoals & logs move, slippery surfaces & rocks/shelves (variable navigation hazards depending on water levels, and after some points, you *have* to go downriver or risk flipping a boat). Make sure you start early enough to get completely off the river before dark, no exceptions. While by kayak standards, it is a relatively tame river, it is *not* a place to lose your common sense. Listen to the locals. I have seen a number of boats busted up, and folks get into trouble (and a few even die) due to one stupid decision. I reccomend wearing a life preserver. period. Here is the Clinch Water Release Schedule ; Be aware that some times they do *not* follow the schedule. The river can rise 6-8 feet in a very short time (minutes) near the weir dam, and the surge lags 6-8 hours by the time it gets to Eagle Bend (and still rises 4' - 6' or so, depending on if Melton Hill is releasing downstream). Pay attention.

I am glad for the families. I actually knew Chris. He was my motorcycle mechanic when he worked for Greene's Kawasaki. I really liked him. -
yeah, It will just take but one to train you. Get a shaving, bit of dust, off center, hair or thread, about anything can jam it. That rim will yank off a lot easier that you expect. Lube them. Takes a moment, saves hours to days of repair. The frankfort stuff can be put on finger damp, wipes right off and a bottle will last for several years. Pull a patch through the die once in a while.

OH YES. Absolutely lube it. Especially with a .308 series base. I have yanked the rim off of several with insufficient lube. Even with a extractor tool, they are a PITA to get out of the die. I use this, and run them wet - http://www.midwayusa...-lube-8-oz-pump Here is what I use to get stuck cases out in worst scenarios - http://www.midwayusa.com/product/136542/redding-stuck-case-remover B.

Heh. Not KNS. On the local version (clerk shoots robbers in Knoxville also) this morning, I made a comment about the criminal's working attire of hoodies and bandannas and got deleted.

What's are good .223 load for 62 and 69 grain bullets?
R_Bert replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I did a quick look arround at various surplus dealers. Not exhaustive, but I did not see anyone selling 1 lb jugs (the military pulldowns seem to all be in 8lb), Maybe someone will loan you a bit to try. I don't have any WC846. However, I will note, that it, WC844, and WC842 are well characterized for military calibers, and I personally would have no qualms about buying a jug for .223 or .308. -

That is a fairly broad question, actually. What rifle, which bullets ? In surplus 62 gr IMI FMJBT/WCs, I get decent results using N133 and Win748, What powder do you have on hand ? -
So, if your Church meets in a school for services...

New church plants are absolutely a thrilling place to worship and serve. We are no longer a start-up, but we have adopted a multi-campus approach. It is still a blast, and is really shaking up Knoxville. We are on 4 physical locations (main, plus three store-fronts). We started two of them in the last year, and also have a significant internet worship presence. Have not figured out how to baptize over the web yet, so folks have to travel for that (and have come from several states and countries to do just that). In Nashville, one of our sister churches is CrossPoint Church (Pastor Pete Wilson, author of the book "Plan B") which has 5-6 campuses in the area. If you ever hear Pete speak, be sure and get the "pee in the pool" story. It is hilarious. -

Just curious, I have been in several church startups, some of which leased school facilities. Hopefully, it is a short term issue. How long have they used the school property ? Do they have plans to move soon (the next few months)? B. -
.744" is the "trim-to" length for 9x19mm You should be just fine.

I love my church. Carry encouraged. Not small either. About 5K in attendance, also with SD provided security. -

I had actually wondered the same about other organizations & fund raisers raffling guns during the evenings (example Ducks Unlimited, etc). Probably not any different. Its not a school function during school hours, and is under lease/rental. -
