  4. yellowish bill favors the cormorant as well. Putnam County photo - http://iweb.tntech.e...FL6Jan03SJS.jpg <edit> I wonder if they make strange noises near steam plants ?
  5. One of the strangest sounds I ever heard was a squirrel with a hangover bellowing at us. It had passed out in a 5-gallon bucket of fermented tommy-toe tomatoes, and woke up in a cage. Maddest tree-rat I ever saw, and it was *loud*, sounded like a chainsaw.
  6. If I was the owner, I would move the whole extended family in. My relatives could drive anybody out just with basic emmissions.
  7. I found a whole box of .338 Lapua and ~6 .50 BMG brass the other day.
  8. Around here (i.e. the steam plant) that would be a "skunk ape". Please don't joke about them. They have internet cell phones nowadays. It hurts their feelings when they read this.

    VEEP debate

Per Michael Barone, "The instant polls: CNBC had it Ryan 56%-36%, CBS Biden 50%-31%, CNN Ryan 48%-44%, AP Ryan 51%-43%. Not nearly as one-sided as the instant responses to the first presidential debate in Denver. My sense: Biden pumped up partisan Democrats, but failed to win over the voters who are taking a serious look at Romney at a point when he is up in national polls."
  10. Got a response back there are some Stephen Ministries in Murfreesboro, contacts as follows: Murfreesboro Seventh Day Adventist James Goodman 615-896-5925 Trinity United Methodist Nan deAndrade 615-896-0413 Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Mary Sue Dillon 615-893-1843 St. Paul's Episcopal Ralph Smith 615-893-3780 St. Mark's United Methodist Dr. Fred Hembree 615-893-3455 Also, check with First UMC of Smyrna, they may also have a Stephen Ministry. 15. possible, but I don't think so. The persons who relayed to me are extremely close to videographer, and would be really embarrassed if fooled. I think I know the video guy also, but not positive (I used to work for Chris Hill). If bogus, be assured I will note it here.....
  16. VodkaPundit drunk-blogging VP debate edit - now started - http://pjmedia.com/b...dential-debate/
  17. *That* is a distinct possibility. There is a meth house just over the hill from the steam plant. Been busted numerous times.
  18. I think it is the last few nights. After reading the description, it is along a scrub woods area between the steam plant and the river. It is in a creek bottom or river bottom, if I have it figured right. Otherwise, on the side of a steep ridge. The camera was pointed at the bottoms, though. It would not be the first time a bear has wondered up the river, or an elk for that matter.
  19. I am thinking 600 lb rabbit in distress (constipated from eating the black panther)
  20. I thought about that. I have heard a lot of deer noises, not any quite like that. Apparently what ever it is is still ambulatory. I need to search through my varmint calls
  21. Locals chatting about this on FB. Night time, something bawling the last few nights, looks to be arround a coal pile at Bull Run Steam Plant. maybe bear cub or elk calf ? edit - does not sound anything like the bear cub sound files I found. They sound closer to a pig in pitch. B.
  22. Heh, I thought you were looking for some. I was going to offer a box ot two from my wife's collection.
  23. Of the Kel-Tecs, I would also suggest that you consider the PF-9 or even the P3AT. Even smaller, and *much* smoother/lighter trigger (~5 lbs instead of 11). The PF-9 is a bit rougher on the hands when firing, but a bit of sand paper to smooth out the grip works fine (I just left mine stock, as little as it is shot). Both are excellent in concealment.
  24. So now we know that the "October Surprise" is.
