Whew. When I saw that header, the first thing I thought was "OMG, they selected Bruce Jenner!"

Secret Santa, mine came in. I been fighting with wife over it, but since it's the only gift I get this Christmas, I have to wait until that morning to open it. Her rules. I'll send pix soon. I've been a good boy. Bring her coal. Love, R_Bert

And suspect was killed for his efforts. Stupid on his part. -
probably a howitzer in the palace parking lot

Yeah, looks like most of the Mandinka converted by ~1800. (So Gambia was islamic for a very long time before this) But, a dictator does not just change his ways in the absence of profound fear, and most of the time not even then.

What modern firearms do you think will be collectable in the future?
R_Bert replied to White Goodman's topic in General Chat
Whatever it is, it will be a fo-tay. -
Not really related, I remember booming commerce & relations with The Gambia back when I started ham-radio. There were dozens of C5 stations on the air chatting away every evening. Rare to hear anyone from the region anymore. A secular state becomes allegiant to the Caliphate - http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/dec/12/gambia-now-an-islamic-republic-says-president-yahya-jammeh?CMP=share_btn_tw An interesting history, most of it rough - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gambia Jammeh has been tin-pot dictator since 1994. I wonder what prompts him to do this? What are the dynamics? And, who's next, Liberia ?

Heads up about the owner of Shooter's Depot in Chattanooga
R_Bert replied to Junkstack's topic in General Chat
I figured you would find that report. and you are right about the anti's. I would think, though, that if a family member got a gun at a show, that's still legal (most of the time). It is the subsequent criminal use or criminal possession that is illegal. I also have to wonder if "get them from family or friends" does not include many cases of outright theft. I know of several situations like this, where "granny's" gun went missing, etc. -

http://dailycaller.com/2013/02/11/where-criminals-get-their-guns/ Mac, you would indeed be the rare bird as usual - in the 1-3% category (we can toss in flea markets too) (criminals are not generally known for intelligence & logic - otherwise they would not be polled by prison officials as often as they are) -
nice body armor,... Oh.

So, are you going to fix that trigger?

That was the Visa Waiver Program. They periodically run out of ObamaPhones for Syrian Refugees. You have to understand that their clients are already up, because jet lag.

unfortunately, empirical evidence has been collected....

The easiest way to divert attention from printing is to have your zipper down. Trust me, you can OC, and they will not see the gun. That one... anyway.

Fortunately, CAIR only partially blames us - http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2015/12/04/cair-director-u-s-partially-blame-san-bernardino-jihad/#disqus_thread

I'll quote this just so I can like it again.

It's softer shooting than a .454 Casull., so people can handle it easier. Of course at the expense of manhood. :bowrofl:

what do you have in mind, budget wise & capability, Caster? I'll try keep an eye out for good deals. BTW, there have been couple of decent deals on the mobile radios. I saw a Yaesu FT-2900 last week for $119.00 Right now they are $139.00 at Ham Radio Outlet, which is still decent price. That's a 75 watt 2-meter radio with a great reputation. B.

For field work like you used to do, check out the Elecraft KX-3 (the portable). I understand It's a dream to operate in-field (I have the K3). Add the 100-watt PA if needed. The Elecraft site has links to a number of portable antennas and also forums. http://www.elecraft.com/KX3/kx3.htm B.

me too. I'll try to clean it up & simplify some day. (maybe the guys more experienced and knowledgeable that myself can decide to help out....) But the basic point is that in TEOTWAB(ert)KI, There will not be many (any??) repeaters, there will be little to no coordination, the cheap Chicom radios (and their junk antennas) won't perform worth a $$$t, and there is *far* more to ham radio than FM. Being aware of how to actually establish reliable coms before you need it is essential. Otherwise, one is wasting time, effort, dollars, and more important - hope. Simplex with decent antenna, and also HF, are king. And... The comments above regarding CW are spot on..... on any band.

Thanks, They picked one out, will have it ordered later this morning. B.

and especially...volume.

He may already have an inverter. If not, I have one. He does have two deep-cycles for stuff, but not on the truck charging system. The batteries would probably last OK no more than he would use it (Price Is Right & the News).

He usually is about 3000'asl in the North Cumberland WMA. No problem with reception. His old TV quit on him.
