1. Actually, I just got a holster in for my G21SF   I am upgrading to print size!
2.       I sense that you are holding back, brother.  Let it out.  let it out.   Seriously, I agree that they are scavengers feeding on carrion.  I saw a visual the other day that describes the media. As I was turning in to the 'hood.  A possum was completely flattened, except for his tail. A second possum was feeding on the first.
3. "should the media shut up about the shooting"   no.  they (owners, employees, audience) should not have to suspend their civil rights any more then we suspend ours.
4. ummmm......   that wasn't at a gun show.   It was in a parking lot.  It could have been any parking lot in Hopkinsville.
5. Not the way I read it, but, no matter.   heh. AP still needs to update their BigStory blog site to the correct information as provided by CNN.   And, yes Garufa has the correct take on it. I agree that all the reporting so far has been crap(py).
6. I see the ME statements (CNN blog below at 4:11pm), but they don't make sense contrasted against the police statement (8:45am) which places the Bushmaster in the car.  I also note a number of retractions and corrections in the blog, but not on this topic.  And, would there not be a crapload of brass laying around ? A ME or officer would not even have to pick it up to distinguish .223 from 9mm.     http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2012/12/15/children-and-adults-gunned-down-in-connecticut-school-massacre/?hpt=hp_t1
7. Curious,   The police commented yesterday that the rifle was locked in his car trunk, and had nnot been fired.  Was there a second rifle ?    Can anyone cite a report clearly and accurately indicating what weapons were used ?  (NBC yesterday said two 9mm pistols (a Glock and a Sig),and a Bushmaster was in the trunk)?
8. Surprised they did not call security on you !   "that creepy old man !  right there !"  :stare:
9. This is a mental health issue.  Several outlets reporting Asbergers and "another" issue per the murderer's brother.. Neighbors report that he was "odd" & "OCD"   edit to add <sorry for reiteration.  hard to keep up>
10. Water conducts sound very well.  Bodies (unlike ear canals with plugs) are mostly water. Personally, if you have already waited several months, a few more won't hurt. I agree with the thoughts on heavy metal exposure as well as other volatile organics that may be present.   It may be OK, but it is not required.  Baby first.
11. Thanks,   I may holler at you on this.  I would at least like to see the place.  Calahan is not much further than Norris for me. (I am west of Clinton, 12 mi to WM at Powell/Calahan)
12.   Understand the thoughts on edit capability and data authentification. Good point.   So, on most (or even some...) of these systems can one select and save short segments to file ?
13. I shot mine about 25 minutes in.   Dad's comment was "well, you sure know how to screw up a two-day hunt !"   'grats. I bet you are going back for the big one.
14. question - do any systems allow stream record (for maximum capture sensitivity on review) simultaneous with scene change detection for alarms?
15. I looked on-line at the Sam's website this week.  They have dozens of choices.  I hope to narrow down, or at least weed out the bad ones.
16. Lately, a number of threads & posts have been centered around events are related to a need for surveillance of property.   I myself am becoming increasingly concerned about surveillance and monitoring at my house.     SO - given a modest homeowners budget, what are good ideas and options for stand-alone video security surveillance systems that can be self installed and operated?   Needs:   -a remote camera capability for some video channels (solar or battery powered at remote points) -some of the cameras will need outdoor capability or protection -digital capture & editing -infrared capability (~100' to property lines) -can interface with house alarm system, but not required  -ability to expand (8-16 cameras or more) -does *not* have to be a "kit"   -other ??
17. So,   I read the article, which seems mostly an overview of the new regs, and highlights the list of MOUs.   What I didn't get, was an example of next steps and how the stakeholders would participate to actually address the problem.   So far, it seems heavy on administration, and vague on application.     Anyone have better insight than I ? What are they really doing ?           (BTW, I *did* get a lot out of the artical on bringing up wildlife officers.  It was very well written, informative, and interesting.)
18. They will probably get bored with it soon enough.    Print out a note - "smile for the camera!" and tape it to one of the doors.   B.
19. According to a local who posted on TTAG, the mall is in fact a posted gun-free zone, including carry permit holders.
20.
Flintlock smoothbore only. Keep your powder dry.

I can hang!! Dave S
No doubt. I bet there are only a few of y'all that will do it without a cap or primer. I doubt if I could keep from dumping the pan when I twitched or sneezed.
21. Flintlock smoothbore only. Keep your powder dry.
22. Clinton WM is out of .22LR bulkpacks at the moment. They are of course, on order.
23. I have one in our basement. Lots of books, keeps them fresh. Hooked it to trickle into my house AC condensate pump.
24. crap. I had not noticed that ML rifles were legal for small game. I can imagine that a .240 gr Hornady saboted XTP driven by 100 gr (or even 150 gr) of 777 out of a Encore would be a lot more "interesting" than a .38 cal wadcutter when shooting rats out of a tree. As I recall, the ballistics equal or exceed a .308 Winchester at 200 yards. In many topics, regulations by emotions rule. Example is the now deleted 4" rule for pistols. The argument was made that the ballistics of 2" bbl in a larger caliber *far* exceeded a .25 cal 4" that was legal at the time. When real math and physics are applied, some of the regulations make no sense, and to TWRC / TWRA credit they will change the rules when scientifically reliable basis is shown. The good news, is now I have a better use for my Encore, and won't even have to cut off the squirrel heads when cleaning.
25. Oak Ridge Walmart has always been somewhat marginal compared to some of the better ones (and yes, some are much worse). There are some WM's that absolutely have more consistent stock levels. I have spoken to 5-6 of their sporting goods managers, and there is apparently differences in planning/ forecasting, and other limitations that vary from region to region, and store to store. I beleive that local management has as much impact on WM's inventory of ammo as anything.
