1.       It is the optional plastic forearm that melted (replaces the "bi-pod" forearm) .  Not the metal parts.     The barrels are chrome lined, and actually pretty darn good.   B.
2. The price point has certainly seemed to increased in the last few years. I never liked the bi-pod forearms at all.
3. Chrome lined bbl on later versions of SU-16. The very few (1or2 ??) I heard of actually wearing out were replaced under warranty. The 6000 figure is lawyerese. That topic is long hot on the other forum. A number of folks have run significantly greater round counts in the tens of thousands. Several ran mud & water and obscene reliability tests. They *will* melt plastic furniture at some point of extreme mag dumping.
4. Mine is kind of a "Franken-Charlie".  I had forgot that I switched out the pistol grip (it stayed on the under-folder for future project).
5. Mine are reliable. Pretty cool guns. SU-16s have an affinity for P-Mags which solves a world of feeding & mag-tweaking issues. My SU-16 has forearm & trigger set by Red Lion Precision, with Magpul CTR & ATI side-folder. Fairly easy gun to work on / modify. The quality is typical Kel-Tec. Work-horse/truck gun, but the gas-piston design is very nice. If you purchase new, Kel-Tec warranty is outstanding, although I have not had any problems with either gun. Although the forum admin is a crank, there is tons of support & info at KTOG also.
6. Yes. A PLR-16 & a SU-16C  What do you want to know ?   BTW, welcome to TGO.
7. Cute spandex.  The chicks in Walmart did a better job.  These guys were just as DHed as the cop.
8. Question re new vs build, not used ( and especially for exotic cal ?? Like 300 aac or 204 ruger)
9. Does this hold true for all calibers, or is general to 5.56 (stuff available at Walmart, etc.)?
10. new at Amazon - Ham Radio For Dummies by Ward Silver, N0AX   I have set in on a number of Ward Silver's talks.  Amazing operator, and good writer.  This may be a excellent prep resource for you guys starting in Ham Radio.    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1118592115/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=1118592115&linkCode=as2&tag=wwwviolentkicom   (I need to finish up that series I started on this forum.  Maybe get it done over the winter.)
11. And complete with bare chested Russian ringmaster.....
12. Really. Just shut up! http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2013/09/12/GOP-Sen-Corker-Humiliated-US-Isnt-Giving-More-Aid-to-Al-Qaeda
13. Very few limitations - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=AyRpdrJKmFI
14.   at age 13, I took the very first course offered in Knoxville area (sponsored by KNS, and conducted by TWRA), in October 1974.  My SSN was not on the card.  In fact, the instructor's SSN is on my original (who is now a well known official, BTW).  Later, they re-issued the card with all zeros (000-00-0000), then even later, they issued the card with my actual SSN (and now it is just noted by date on my lifetime permit).   SO, I suggest digging a bit deeper with other info, and someone with access to old archives. The info is out there, just have to persuade someone to dig it up.
15. I am thinking its a perfect place to toss unwanted range brass. :stalk:   "Mommy!  look what I found!!"
16.   Over the years, we have had three wieners across the street or next door.  All three were territorial....with  my yard.  Little useless **!*s would cross the road to yap at me for as long as I was in the yard.   Did anyone say fences make good neighbors?
17. If one cannot train, contain, control, and continuously attend to it's need for companionship and affection, then please do not get a dog.   Barking dogs are every bit, and maybe even more annoying than roaming dogs.   Get a cat. They make better neighbors.
18. I was in line at the bank, absently clicking my ball-point pen, and was suddenly thrown on the floor and cuffed by a whole platoon of retired middle TN sheriffs! Then they kept my checkbook for evidence!! The account hasn't balanced since.

There are controls, but all are easily thwarted.   Anyone with a screen capture, or allowing access to viewing can subvert the security, much less other technical options for overcoming the security features.  It is, in effect - open source.

Nowadays, commentary on what some would consider core values will be detrimental.  Even remote stances on -    - Pro-Life - Defense of Marriage - Pro-Christian - Anti-terrorist - Pro Second Amendment - Anti-Grievance industry - Pro self-reliance - position on Global Warming - Pro-Nuclear stance   are risky.   I am sure my viewpoints have lost a number of FB "friends", and I have experienced bias from certain personas and groups in my professional areas. Some sectors are downright vindictive in political correctness.   It happens.  The world is absolutely changing.

It does not really matter.  One of your other "friends" will cut & paste, or log in for him.

Of course, even here on TGO, the risk is present, maybe more so. There are some minimal controls on FB (including unfriending & blocking).  Here, we just hide behind an "identity".  Lose anonymity, and some real interesting comments can be tied back to the account holder.  None (most??) of if is admissible or actionable, but still solidifies opinion.    B.
