  1. Do *not* carry weapons anywhere near that bait. Regs prohibit them within several hundred yards, even unknowingly. Trying to find cite, but remember reading about a fubared landowner in the last year or so. Some stupid distance...250 yards?? BTW....spreading the corn did not help. Your land is still baited.
  2.     We will shop as necessary, of course.  however, like many, we are on a fixed budget & income. Cash expenditures will not increase solely due to a tax increase.   Delayed gratification is the economic term rising in our household.   Toilet paper, heat, water first.  Entertainment & hobbies last.
  3. as costs increase by ~10% tax, my discretionary spending will decrease by same.....not to mention some 100%+ on medical insurance.  They can charge tax all they wish, but this turnip ain't a whole lot of blood.
  4. Individual companies collecting...fine.  But perception drives the bottom line.  Joe Average sees Amazon as the biggest operator, and now they are perceived as a tax collecting arm of the government.  Owed or not, Joe Average is not used to being "forced" to pay taxes in the innerdwebs for out of state purchases. Now *Amazon* is making sure that he does.   .gov won't suffer near as much as Amazon does for that deal.  Not sure who got screwed, either consumer or Amazon, but it was not .gov.    Eventually, convenience of pajama-shopping and near-immediate gratification will win out again.
  5. I am guessing the Rev won't do well in next years big-game hunt drawings.
  6. Heh.   Less than 24 hours post TWRA, and service again packed full of snakes.   Will we see more game wardens in church now?  I am pretty sure most of the SD deputies I know (regardless of county) won't get near the things.   http://www.wate.com/story/23921576/preacher-back-at-church-with-snakes-despite-twra-seizure   I bet the TV show ratings go up this week.
  7. Amazon is a pipe dream, the way they run it.   You have to make a profit at some point (which they never, ever - have)   At least one guy blames all you Prime accounts, but It has to be more basic than that, I think.   http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2013/10/28/prime-members-are-eating-amazons-profits.aspx   http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/22/technology/sales-are-colossal-shares-are-soaring-all-amazoncom-is-missing-is-a-profit.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0   I personally wonder if the tax collection thing will doom them.
  8. I have traveled 20+ times to South Africa since ~1998.    It is getting worse (and *we* are close on its heels).   The land reform stuff has been agenda for a long time.  The communists/socialists are in charge down there. They may not make Zimbabwe, but they will be Africa's Cuba, before it is over due to their leader's fascination with the island and the socialized medicine, education, and marketplace.
  9. Gordon, can you expound on issues with Federal? It does seem that the alloy is a bit harder than Remington.
  10. silly question, but - You are resizing, THEN trimming, right?   I have never ran across any short factory brass other than in something like Hornady FTX (for lever guns) in .30-30 & .45 Colt etc .  Certainly not in .223, anyway.
  11. And by now merits a lifetime ticket for $150 for sleeping in class.
  12. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/jun/06/lawsuit-filed-over-or-mans-warrantless-cavity/ They got all cracked up over it down this way too.
  13. Might want to go ahead and make that $935, huh?
  14. I need about two dozen just to annoy the hood. Where do you get them around Knoxville area ? Been wanting some for a while. What kind of cover do they need for the winter ?
  15. So... G& A fired Metcalf (who was leaving anyway).  Hornady...??  Maybe fire your PR guy, too ?
  16. .204 Ruger for fox & yote at 300 - 500 yards.  There are a number of projectiles in the caliber designed to protect fur. Check out www.204Ruger.com for inspiration.
  17. Persimmin-fed Potted Possum.  Best cracker spread ever made.
  18. So, how did the ty-wrap restraints get removed from the action, etc.?  Who removed them (if it was actually checked)?
  19. The receiver under the cover plate is steel, and I would not be surprised if the covers are plated.  If plated, then likely nickel on steel, and brass on surface.   You can order a replacement cover (likely free under warranty... we had one sent to us that way)
  20. That is a keeper for life. Much better choice for heirloom than a 10/22 IMO.  Distinction counts in kid's eyes.
  21.   and tomorrow.   If folks really wanted to, they could fix it in Knoxville in the morning.  Refuse to buy it.
  22. It is coming back.   In the last few weeks, I could have purchased several (6-8) times at reasonable prices online and in person.   Maybe soon the market will glut!   B.
  23. Is there a Food City?
  24. What... not the competition set (micrometer sizer also) ? And don't forget the comp shellholders. I love mine. The bushings are addictive. I have about 25 of them.
  25.           My personal empirical evidence differs.  Just saying. Being Christian in the workplace cost me greatly. Not sure about white, or male, but it didn't help. And I am not particularly "evangelical", just held firm to my convictions.
