Twice, I have visited the Apartheid Museum in Johannesburg. Regardless of his political leanings, one cannot walk through that place without being deeply affected. The photographs, and the paraphernalia are haunting.

The easiest way would be by neutron irradiation (neutron generator tube or a Californium source), then looking at the resulting prompt gamma & X-Ray spectrum (pure gold would have no tungsten signature)   There are also testing services that have X-Ray fluorescence units (many are portable).   In my old line of work, I could have done the analysis in minutes.   B.

842 is nominally 15% hotter than CFE223.  I normally err on side of caution and reduce 842 by 20% and confirm by chronograph.   It will get hairy on you with little warning.   When I am developing an unknown, I usually not only do the above, I run my initial tests in one of my Thompson Center frames.   Last, pay *close* attention to the guidance given by Dolomite & David on this stuff.    Do not fail to wear eye protection. I have had hot gas in my face out of this stuff, and very flattened primers.

Mine is just a rolling barca-lounger, but a buddy of mine installed a hostess, mini-bar, and in-flight movies.  Every once in a while, he would invite me to pull along-side, but mostly I followed in coach.
