1.   Of course she is not "mine", but I have spent a few days next to her on the hunting stand. That bull was 50-75 yards away all day, the cow was 25 yards or less.     Along with them, there is a whole population that is relatively tame - nosing in backpacks, UTV/ATVs, wanting back & belly scratching. Over the years we have had several poke their head in a tent blind.   This one will eat a apple out of your hand, and bed down a few feet from you, neither are spooked by gun-shots (at deer & turkey)   Bottom line for TN elk hunting IMHO, if it ain't spooked and running, it's probably not a sporting kill.   (the cow has a birthmark, so we have been able to easily identify her since the season she was born)
2. be sure to give us a post-mortem on this one.
3. Don't shoot the pets. Here is Elly all growed up
4. yep.  our yard is covered.
5. Whatever hits it.  HP for organ damage, SP for bone breakage.  The real difference?? not much.  It's essentially a .30-30........
6. I have used a .45 Colt carbine, and killed deer with a .44 Mag pistol.   A .45ACP carbine will work fine.  Especially under typical hunting range in TN.
7. Will it fit?   Do you want to lose access to a ~$1000 gun after using it for justifiable self defense at 3'-21'? (it will spend time in the evidence locker)    Is there anything a expensive 5.7 can do that a cheap fotay won't?
8. I use Frankfort Arsenal case lube .**  It doesn't take much, been using the same bottle for about 5 years, still have 1/3rd left.   Spray a half-drop (or less) on fore & index finger tips, wipe case with fingers, size it wet, wipe case when done.   And yes, the RCBS Case Extractor works very well, especially with Kano Kroil. Be advised, that you need to keep the Kroil in a secondary container during storage.  It WILL creep out.  Don't bother getting the spray can.  Bought three of them so far, and every single one sprays towards the user, as well as the target.  BUT, Kroil is *still* worth the hassle.       ** I think Dolomite has a homebrew version of this stuff also.
9.   Any history expert knows that this aint the "wild, wild west" (which was tamer after troublemakers were dispatched). This is Mogadishu, Kalifornia..
10. It was the son-in-law.
11. Linoge is correct.  They are a ammo "Zappos Wannabe", run by realtors & lawyers in Knox, POB shell in NYC, admin in Knox (who knows where the servers are), warehouse/shipping in ATL contracted from a logistics company in Las Vegas (who administers their FFL in ATL).  and overpriced.
12. and last, but not least - "confused"
13. ~9" on the truck hood. around the yard, 8-10
14. 3-4" here on the ridge top. Snowing like mad.  1" in the last 20 minutes.
15. Whoever they bring in will only be worse.
16. Is the web & primer pocket still intact?   BTW, Kroil is a much better choice than penetrating oil.
17. In the end, we are defenseless.  It is only statistics and probabilities that protect us.     http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/2014/02/10/paypal-ceo-credit-card-hacked/5367979/

19. :waiting:  you win.  You are indeed as your predecessors have described, and more.  Are you that insufferable in real life? Go ahead, make one more post so you have the last word in.

21. He was Castro's enforcer.  His protege was Carlos the Jackal.  We heard about him all the time back in the '60s. Of course at the time, it was a "current event" and covered in civics.
22. Jeff, sorry to hear, and we are praying for you & your family.   Bert
23. not.   http://www.worldaffairsjournal.org/blog/michael-j-totten/truth-about-che-Guevara   I know a lot of young people who refuse to understand what a monster this jerk was.   I despise the t-shirts of him.
