  1. I was a bench-monkey back in high school & early college (late '70s). Made some decent $ for a kid. Paid for a lot of radio equipment (which meant I never actually broke even).  Nowadays, my eyeballs barely cooperate.
  2. I was surprised at some of the ADHD drugs. Some really nasty stuff.
  3. MMJ is classed as a Schedule 1 drug (i.e. no medical use whatsoever / or high potential for abuse).   Even some of the stuff on Schedule II is surprising.   Interesting info here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controlled_Substances_Act#Schedule_I_controlled_substances
  4. BTW, also gun related - this was organized by Shield Tactical.   http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Texas/2014/06/14/Bikers-Ride-to-Mexico-to-Free-Jailed-Marine   Not certain how this will work..... Hopefully the US Consulate will manage to snarf him up before the Mexicans are annoyed by bikers circling the jailhouse (or the cartel starts a Harley-Davidson collection).
  5.       I think the local TV stations were scooped by KnoxNews, who in turn had picked it up from JC area outlets.   KnoxNews had a link to JC rag about 6-8 hours before the other Knox outlets did.   The really good news is that as 'smart" as these cretins were, they were still stupid enough to get caught in planning stages, not execution (poor choice of word, but fits)   ETA - Looks like parent alerted counselor, so maybe other kid alerted the parent or was cornered by the counselor.   ETA 2 - We wont find out any real details until trial.  Judge has issued a gag order.
  6. It is not complete info.   As I understand, the other student had something to do with counselor coming onto alert.
  7. Here is one report, but I saw another that was more explicit.   Looks like December 17 was a key date with one of the other students.   http://www.timesnews.net/article/9078056/hawkins-teens-ages-16-and-17-accused-of-planning-mass-school-shooting
  8. Search harder.  That was later in the event sequence ( I have read so many reports on it this week, I forget which outlet ran that item).
  9. Those lowlifes have been in custody for some extended time now.  Apparently they tried to enlist the help of another student, who thankfully ratted them out.
  10. Not that I am paranoid,   but if I was that organization, I would have noted your phone#, executed a reverse lookup, and then search you as soon as you show up and present a credit card (or ticket bought with one) at the gate, or even at your seat.   Cross-referencing data ain't rocket-sinus any more. They can know who you are and where you are very easily.
  11. Nice!   (and now I don't feel nearly as bad about my pile of parts)
  12. Sorry to hear of your loss.

    Coyote

I have a Scorpion and JIB also.  I have not run the external speaker.
  14. not fear, as much as overwhelming intervention if necessary in order to protect myself and family. But just in my little hometown we have Bloods & Crips, Aryan Nation, methheads, and pillbillys, all which hit the news outlets more frequently than I prefer. Of course, a lot of folks around here had Chris Newsom as their motorcycle mechanic (I was one of those), so they understand.

Do you use a external speaker with your Scorpion?
  16. Hmmmm. I'm thinking you may not have researched the post-op links. But, welcome to TGO.

    Dogs Barking

Thanks.   Barking in of itself is not an issue. Dogs bark. It's what they do.    I start getting annoyed at ~15 minutes (irritation directed at owner, not the animal), and very pissed by 3-4 hours (especially when I am trying to sleep or study). We have one close-by dog that routinely barks 1-2 hours straight, several times a day.  We have another that if allowed, barks for 15-20 minutes *every time* it sees *any* movement - people walking, dogs, cats, birds, squirrels, skunks, rabbits and so on). And it will continue to bark as long as it sees something.   One set of dogs bark non-stop when their owner is outside working in the yard (among other stimuli).  And they do absolutely nothing to stop it.

    Dogs Barking

I have a number of chronic barkers around me. Of 5 - 6 dog families near us, only one attempts to quiet their animals. Very discouraging. In my experience, dog owners that care actually care are very rare. We are absolutely unable to sit outside without a barker.

  21. Shoot it BEFORE you open the trap door.
  22. Unfortunately,  Nothing to write home about.   Good marketing, though.   https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/02/daniel-zimmerman/g2-researchs-rip-ammo-ballistic-testing-phase-one/&sa=U&ei=1rGQU639CcnI8gHRuICICw&ved=0CAYQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNFW5SfbXMVS9MrYNf8Obj8UgKsphg   and   https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/02/daniel-zimmerman/g2-researchs-rip-ammo-ballistic-testing-phase-two/&sa=U&ei=1rGQU639CcnI8gHRuICICw&ved=0CAoQFjAC&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNFukJtPnW-Z9HvVk7A_-bhzpSQAPw   and   https://www.google.com/url?q=http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/04/daniel-zimmerman/g2-rip-ammo-test-part-3-rip-vs-gold-dot/&sa=U&ei=1rGQU639CcnI8gHRuICICw&ved=0CA4QFjAE&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNE5NY7mEzYPvgudQetDgK5OpGDAVQ

    Gold Heist

It was due to placing high-equity safe on outside, unprotected wall and not alarming the safe itself against attack.   Insider threat had little to do with this one.
  24.   In keeping with my earlier remarks (I continue to hold the same opinion on OCTX tactics), I registered my disappointment with their reversal. So they heard from another lifer.  I wonder how many lifers it takes to equal a sooper-dooper gold-brick benefactor?

    Gold Heist

duh. And owners surprised that their alarm systems did not work.   I am guessing they did not pay much attention to risk assessment, and just bought what the vendor suggested. Blew a few fundamental / basics - those days when hiring an amateur turns out to be very costly.   http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/wash-burglars-nab-1-million-gold-jewelry-store-cops-article-1.1816965
