1. They are much easier on arthritic hands. Which is my thing.
2. That is a Blackhawk Ergo Grip.   Honestly, the only other grip I have ever handled on the range is a standard AR grip. So, I really can't compare (other then I like mine better).
3. is (at last) mostly done & ready for testing (who knows if it will actually run... but finished QA & function testing tonight) Needs optics installed, and adjusting of gas block. Oh yeah... got to install the Giessele National Match DMR trigger post testing,
4. vultures migrate.
5. You know, I tried Nick's trick once. Except it was a scope to the forehead. Don't remember much from that day....
6. Heh. I thought I recognized that fellow. It's Nick from TTAG. Strong face.
7.   I fully expected him to pause for a moment to spit out teeth........
8. wait.  Mythbusters is not reliable?  Next y'all will be saying Snopes is not accurate!  :squint:
9. you forgot one - a valet in the corner of the stall, holding your gat in a monogrammed hanky.
10. already have these exact ones   (I have been paying attention to you guys for a while)
11. I did manage to get the roll-pin in without further destruction.   Large applications of gun oil & molybdenum grease.  Learned my lesson.  The last roll pin (gas tube) will be covered up by something else, so hopefully all will look decent.
12. Well, first, I never poo, except for roses and golden eggs, so agriculture & wealth product is produced at home.   But, someone I know never removes it from the holster during violation of big-box inner sanctum.  Depending on the environmental conditions of the dropped trow (and pre-crisis.. not post or operative), it may be unclipped holster & all from the belt or waist, then reside between the shins until returned to original position.   My buddy's say that you never forget that it is there when you yank your britches back up. After the first time, anyway.  Always remember, force = mass * acceleration, and it is the sudden stop that really hurts ( today's lesson - pull the britches up slowly, and don't carry a Desert Eagle under there.)
13. Probably not.   We are building two. One is a pistol, so we did not lap.  The .204 Ruger did get lapped, a large part in just to figure out how. I will say this, the finish that I lapped off was not completely uniform (but not bad).   For me, its a learning experience, but in retrospect, I would have left the TGO set in the safe and practiced on a blem from PSA.   But, even if I have to cover up a pinhead sized boo-boo (so far), it will still be an awesome gun.
14. Well, I dug around the shop and found a 2lb box assortment of Brownell's pins.  None the size I wanted, but can cut down a longer version.
15. I have exactly this.   If you want to flip the receiver upside down (and beat from the bottom), it does not work.  Also, you can not insert a slave pin from the other direction.   BTW, this also will not work with the Wheeler AR-15 receiver lapping tool.  Lapping was a PITA using a clamshell block that did not fit well.  I ended up roughing it in on the vice, then hand-lapping the finish by holding the receiver upright and using the weight of the tool against itself.
16. I have -   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/363683/grace-usa-roll-pin-punch-set-7-piece-steel   and   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/251890/grace-usa-roll-pin-holder-punch-set-5-piece-steel   and for good measure, a set similar to these - http://www.midwayusa.com/product/360841/grace-usa-punch-set-8-piece-brass?cm_vc=ProductFinding   and a large  selection of hammers, & blocks (none of which I find suitable)   Add back in the R_Bert, and it becomes a non non-issue.
17. little duct-tape & some JB.  It'll be fine.
18.   We had a 50% success rate.  One fine, one split.   After searching on innertwebz, I had concluded that the spiral is more manageable than slotted, and is usually included on higher end parts-kits.   I can make do with either, and will double down on lube. Again.
19.   Thanks!    Looks like the Knox stores are all closed today.   I'll drop by Oak Ridge on Monday if needed.  No real hurry.
20.   I have the right tools.....well....no...I don't.      I have all the right punches & pin-holders, but with three bench blocks, STILL don't have one that correctly secures this receiver (a TGO upper) when I try to drive the pin from the bottom.   It's where I like all my peck-marks, like the new one last night when the pin expanded on me at the last .05".   Fortunately had tape on it, so minimal damage except destroyed pin.
21.   I crashed out and slept in - I  was not planning on going to the show today, but I need The one that goes on the forward assist.   I'll stop by Fighting Sheep Dog and see if they have one.   Will post any success (or not) that I have.
22. Yes, yes I do. Anybody in Knoxville carry spiral pins?
23. Merry Christmas!
24.     yup.  pour two more fingers, . and let the power grid nightmares get in line behind the easier stuff.  Like cops, parades, malls, Disneyhades, Amtrak, and Ferguson, MO a few more times (see, already have the zombies).
