  1. I was fixed back in '88.   YMMV, but I got surly, fat, & lazy. And started to like beer & cigarettes.   Hopefully your dog will fare somewhat better.   B.
  2. It wasn'tn't me, but I love my mini.
  3.   I used one ring (of four provided). I like the setup, once I got it figured out.  It was not too hard, and there is no issue at all on aligning the gas tube (which passes over the nut, not between notches).
  4.   Thank you for the nice complements.   Yes, It is an Ace ARFX E Skeleton Stock, fixed, 7" Entry version.  http://riflestocks.com/store/product94.html (I got it on Black Friday sale).
  5.   13.4 oz. for the 15" model hand-guard, 9 oz for the Ace hand-guard. Empty, the gun is ~7 lbs. I think it will be about 8.5lbs by the time I put the rings, scope, and rounds in it. (I'll weigh it more accurately when done).  It handles well with the short stock, but is not light (which is fine.. almost no recoil.)   The hand-guard is back on sale for $109   http://www.opticsplanet.com/leapers-utg-pro-4-15-rifle-15in-super-slim-float-handguard.html
  6. Take out the "F" word & variants, and those imbeciles lost 60%+ of their functional communications tools.
  7. ditto prayers.
  8. Well, it plays.   Finally got around to testing the TGO .204 and adjusted the gas block today.  Actually, I ran it down two notches, then put it back where I had estimated to begin with (# 4 of 15).  Really runs sweet, and I really like that SLR Rifleworks gas block.   This one has about 1/10th the recoil of my .204 Howa bolt gun.    But in typical Bert fashion, I switched from factory ammo to some of my reloads.....  and promptly hung one in the chamber BIG TIME.   Fixed now, but daaaang.  That chamber is tight tolerance.  The Howa is very finicky, but I'll have to run a small-base sizing die on this one.
  9. y'all scaring me.  I like the avertars better'n.
  10. Anyone out there have a late model Kel -Tec SU 16?   I would like to look at a picture of the bolt-carrier group & bolt assembly.   Thanks,   Bert
  11. You might.... want to lease the pastures & garden space (retain access for some planting, and a cow or two).  Let someone else pay you to do all the heavy work.  Any adjacent farms?
  12. BTW...  Techmer lost 8 hours of production today.  The day shift employees have a choice - work makeup Saturday, or take a day of vacation.  nice.
  13. I feel for Techmer.  The majority of companies his majesty has visited - subsequently tanked or experienced other operational chaos.  I expect our town of Clinton will on balance suffer.  Just like the rest of them.
  14. heh.
  15. That ain't too far off.    Buddy of mine shot one with a 17 from about 50'.    One of us had to go over & pick the thing up to carry it off.  It wasn't him.....  he was too busy yakking up lunch.
  16. meh.  Racking Smacking.  Much better is the "scritch scritch" of the ol Bic Butane & the hissing of a lit fuse.  House clears out real fast.
  17. Welcome Raymond
  18. I had heard about two weeks ago (on FB OR RAW forum) that it was. Also heard via a ham radio friend last week. I was not aware that it had changed hands.   Maybe Vontar or Brasil has a better knowledge.
  19. about the same here in Oak Ridge with this place - http://riversidegrilletn.com/  (I have no idea if he frequents a range). I seem to recall his activism against 2A (carry in City of OR parks) here.
  20. May there be ever more just like him....   http://www.breitbart.com/london/2015/01/01/muslim-convert-mark-taylor-accidentally-tweets-locations-of-isis-safe-houses/
  21. As long as we don't have the EPA up our kazoo.  And yes, they are really big. And nasty.  The rookeries were on cliff-sides. The walls of the cliffs looked like they had been whitewashed for hundreds of yards. Down, and across.  These things probably poop a gallon or two at a time.
  22. and fortunately, no California Condors.  BTW, I have been to their rookery near San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina.  The Argentines don't care for them near as much as the Kalifornicates.
  23. Black Friday was $109
  24.    it is not the lightest, but is tailored to nicely cover low-profile gas-blocks.
  25.   Hand-guard is a UTG (boo-hiss) PRO Super Slim  MTU019SS (15").  I really like the barrel nut & wrench (that they supply).
