I have purchased several firearms originating from law enforcement organizations which sold to my ffl. I have no idea if they were issued or seized. Why would the ones in question be any different ?

Probably no issue at all during daylight hours. I personally think the law gets "fuzzy" at night-time, especially with respect to what equipment you use. In other words, if it "looks like hunting" or "poaching/jacklighting, etc.", using game calls at night, then you may not be legal B.

That would be my take (and response) as well. Just for discussion, and for general awareness of the others reading, use of use of lights, coyote calls, and rifles at night might move one into a legally "grey" area. Whatever tools and techniques you decide to use for protecting your property at night, check with TWRA & local LEO for legality (I usually call the TWRA information officer, Allen Ricks, who is very helpful). Just be careful. Mis-understanding of the law is easy to do, has severe and life changing consequences, and is easily avoided by a few calls to enforcement authority. B.

Clarify what you are asking ? I think, for *hunting*, other than license requirements for farmland owners & family, the answer is "yes" (seasons, daylight hours only, equipment, etc.), although there may be overriding state regulation related to control of destructive pests (coyote in chicken-pen, or after calves for example). What situation do you have in mind (i.e. night hunting in post above is probably not allowable)? B.

Any of the WMAs. i.e. North Cumberland, Catoosa, Chuck Swan will have plenty of gravel roads, and lots of game to see. A area permit or hunting license is required to access these areas.

BTW, anyone doing coyote hunting around Anderson County ? (My activities are more akin to "seriously alerting potential prey of my presence"...still trying to learn how to actually hunt Wile E.) Bert

Jonathan, They had two Circuit Judges in Stainless Steel at Knob Creek last week ($600 otd) RJ got one. They are very nice. Seems like overall fit & finish was better also.

hmmm... Page 18, Row does show T-shot, and also looking row #5, looks like Centerfire *is* allowed ( note 4, furbearers includes coyotes) (also notes 1 & 5 apply). Top of page mentions exceptions for WMA's so the table probably applies to private lands, season is open year-round (page 20). WMAs still centerfire only during big game season (page 47), other wise use of equipment legal for small game on WMA, and maybe not even them depending on the WMA. I love TN regs. Every time I read them I read it different, and get crosseyed in the process. Bert

Andreson County - big crop of squirrels, rabbits down a bit, not many dove so far, have heard no quail for years. Seeing many deer & turkey, hearing 5-6 coyote pups & momma.

What I am asking is what are the real changes from the 2010 regs (as found on page 19, last yrs guide). which *did* allow centerfire on private lands. That whole 4"x4" block of coyote regs is missing in the 2011 regs, and several items are not clearly explained. Have you actually compared the two guides ? B.

Sans alcohol, I have worn a empty holster all day. It's a small IWB for my NAA mini, and was already clipped in the set of cargo shorts from the previous day. End of the day, I went to put the gun up, and it was already in the safe!

Appealing the loss of unemployment benefits will likely be futile. TN employment codes are tipped very much in favor of the employer, and I bet the tribunal would be very biased against you, particularly in a termination for cause involving a firearm. Move on, use the time (& lawyer fees) to conduct a new job search

+1000 Handhelds are no substitute for a decent mobile unit. HTs are primarily dependant on a repeater system (lose the repeater and you are screwed), whereas the mobiles can easily accomodate reliable *stand-alone* comms in the 10-25 mile range (or more). The receiver audio quality and output, along with a more ergonomically suited microphone will provide more comfort, and overcome distractions during extended EMCOMMS. Use the HT for its intended purpose...fill in the gap until you get to or can set up a better radio system (or operate as a remote to a real radio). Bert (K4AR, 37 yrs on the air)

I have had one for about two years, and love it. It has dispensed ~5000 rounds so far, mostly rifle size. As long as you keep powder out of the internals on the load cell (don't drop powder down the hole the platen sits in..it gums up the movement) then it seems to remain accurate so far. I see one potential problem. The powder dispensing tube (driven by the stepper motor) is supported by using the plastic housing as a bushing. Last year (after 12 mo warranty expired) the rear "bushing" developed a hairline crack. So far, it has not impacted operations (or gotten worse). More than likely, It was stressed when ran for extended periods (2-3 minutes trying to clear the system). I now just pick the unit up and dump it, and use canned air to remove any remnant grains of powder. Would I buy another one (or similar unit) ? Absolutely. I love the precision. Bert

"Small game hunting with center-fire rifles and shotguns: Rifles andhandguns using center-fire ammunition are prohibited for huntingall small game species on wildlife management areas with only a fewexceptions: Rifles and handguns using center-fire ammunition are legalfor hunting beaver, bobcat, foxes, coyotes, groundhogs, and crows,only during big game seasons and the hunter must be a licensed legalbig game hunter. Coyotes may be taken on any hunt but only with thefirearm or archery equipment that is legal for that hunt. I do not see anything in the huntguide regarding private lands like last year.

I exclusively use my Redding T-7 left handed. The handle is .....NOT. Now that I look at it again, it is ~2" right of center. Still operate as described - I sit on the right hand side of it, pull the handle and switch cases, insert projectiles with the left. When starting to seat a projectile, use the back of your left forearm to nudge the ram up, then follow through in one motion for the downstroke of the handle. I use my right hand to grab the next cartridge & projectile, pre-stage by holding the case & projectile together with my left fingertips. It's easy and fast. Yes, the Lee dies will fit any 7/8-14 press. I use Lees for my universal de-capper and factory crimps, and have a set of spare Lee shellholders for when I use two presses.

I myself was 12 weeks early in 1961 and after my mom rejected her doctor's earlier advice to terminate. After I was born, I was not expected to survive. I spent a number of months in critical care, but 50+ years later am quite glad no one listened to conventional wisdom. My personal thoughts (and experience) are that if it will, without interference, result in a baby, then, it is life. B.

Nuts. I hope they rectify that someday. Finding handloading equipment and supplies arround here is sort of hit & miss and much of it over priced.

OP (and others), If you have not done so already, I strongly suggest taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation basic and advanced riders courses. Motorcycle Safety Foundation It has saved my a$$ several times over 35K of riding in the last few years. I took the basic as an experienced rider, and still learned a lot. Hope to take advanced soon.
