  2. Welcome, Tell a bit more about the Caldwell College curriculum. Does it include machining (lathe, milling machine, etc)? Do you have local access to any ? Is there a list of courses somewheres on-line? I get asked all the time if I know of a good, reliable gunsmith in town. When do you graduate? Bert

  4. I pulled out a few hundred of mine, and did a random check. Most were withing .005", but a few outliers up to .010". I figured I could blame the projectile, so checked those. Nope, all within .001", mostly better (not bad for cheap stuff). Assuming the dies are set up correctly, that leaves - -Case lengths inconsistent -trash/shavings/dirt -inconsistent primer seating -inconsistent ram pressure in seating and/or crimping Sure enough, I just checked my stash of cases and found several that were .010" longer than the median. for a test - do each stage as a batch, measure between batches Lock down your setup, don't adjust again. Go back and measure some cases and projectiles, find 10 -20 that are exactly same length (after deprime, sizing, expanding). prime, measure, drop powder seat, measure crimp seperate step, measure Take measurement notes on each step
  5. .380 is a thin case, with a odd taper. I crunched cases left & right, until I started belling the mouth more. Then, I had to go to a Lee Factory crimp to get that right. Some of my cases look ugly (you can see the outline of the FMJ projectile through the thin wall), but they feed and fire reliably, and reasonably accurate.
  6. What kind of results are you getting ? any pix ?
  7. Shootin Stick, BogPod, or Bench Rest. Let the kid shoot anything he wants.
  8. Kind of like the joke about making bets with a drunk - "that takes care of the Doberman, now where is that 90 year old woman that needs her teeth pulled ?"
  9. Barney said the same thing. Mostly district lines, did not want to introduce himself to a new set of constituents......Someone had it right....He did not want to lose the election.
  10. good. He is the epitomy of all rot and corrupt in Congress. Barney Frank To Announce Retirement | Fox News
  11. This is how I do most of mine - The others are trimmed with a Wilson - Sinclair trimmer Sinclair Ultimate Case Trimmer
  12. That is a sweet looking pistol. A friend has one, and they are excellent shooters. It's certainly on my "after I find a job" list! B.
  13. He looks like he has a "tooomah" on his side. I always wondered why some guys looked "lopsided" in WallyWorld.
  14. Small, ears look pointed, snout too pointed, and nose is small proportion...so..red fox ? but missing "boots", although not all foxes have them. I "see" three legs (two front, & right rear), so not sitting.
  15. OS - may want to elaborate....including duck, dove, goose, crow, etc.
  16. The Polaris Ranger is titled, and can be registered as a medium speed vehicle upon afadavit of road equipping (turn signals, horn, mirrors, etc). Dad's is tagged. That said, some WMA's (ex. Catoosa) still prohibit their use in the off season, despite license, registration, and insurance. edit - and to actually answer your question, if operated solely off road, it does not need to be registered.
  17. That black plastic rod is the plug.
  18. I have had a number of shotguns come with plugs in the magazine tubes to limit loading to three shells... Is that a H&R Pardner ? Unscrew the cap off the end of the magazine tube, pull the retainer clip out, and see if a plug is nested with the spring. If so, remove it. B.
  19. eyeballs happy here!
  20. Yeah, but there might be flashbacks..... Have you sought counseling ?
  21. definitely praying for you.
  22. If they all chamber, then I think you are good. I did have to small base size some once to fit my Encore chamber (FL was not sufficient). I went through a real headache with my .204 Ruger and some once-fired Hornady Brass that was not entirely uniform. I had to beat several cases out of the gun before I learned to crank the FL down to absolutely "cam-over" (no small base dies in the caliber at the time). Now, with that gun, I chamber the brass *before* I reload it.
  23. Now my brain hurts. So, TWRA is rewarding (alleged/apparent) offenders (by relaxing regs for them), and punishing the rest of the hunters ? (Ow... it hurts..the circular reasoning you expose is making me dizzy) BTW, I like your color. Easy to read. B.
  24. I use Win 748 & standard primers all the time in both .223 & .308 BTW, Lyman #49 and Hornady #7 doe not call for magnum primers (Unlike Sierra #14)
  25. agreed. I don't get one thing...While landowners are now more free to hunt them, not all landowners are hunters (or even live near their property), and not all hunters are landowners. In my little yard, I just have rogue skunks digging around, not hogs.
