  2. Nope. publicity, embarassment, shame, harassment by cop, dumb luck, etc, are all the same, and most of us don't have good enough lawyers. Bad juju..... Honestly, if someone has to ask the question.....well......they probably already know the (answer) risk. "Life is hard. It's a lot harder when you are........", so don't take the unecessary risk. <bowing out now>
  3. alcohol ? leave the gun at home, or drink soda. Reference recent fiasco over state representative Curry Todd.
  4. Haslam comments on the bill. Red Herring. Don't let up. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/feb/22/haslam-expects-passage-of-parking-lot-guns-bill/
  5. Any specific points/counterpoints that these organizations are raising ? Anyone have them condensed to a few cogent bullets to mention in the letter to the Committee?
  6. Heh, it still beats Haslam's reply. At least Campfield had to read it to put it in the right category. (I got several of them, as I copy him and several others on each email I send). He does watch for curveballs (and so does Rep, John Ragan, my House rep).
  7. Emily's latest today - http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/guns/2012/feb/20/transporting-gun-through-dc/
  8. guys....enough on "potty mouth". EDIT - OK....Can we get back to Emily's topics ?
  9. True, but we also have to vote them out by holding them personally responsible for what their legislative leadership does also (regardless of whether local legislator is directly involved in bad legislation) because the General Assembly chooses their leaders. AND let your legislators know why you are canning them.
  10. Stacey has a few interesting comments on his blog today, including one on the TSU shooting. http://lastcar.blogspot.com/
  11. And in TN, a non-represented worker can pretty much be dismissed for *anything*, even opinion. The employer rarely has to prove cause, and even then, it is after the fact, and heavily weighed in company favor (even with recent legislation to "protect" the worker).
  12. Start with the one that cost more to purchase over the counter.
  13. Durnit. you beat me to it! I was just looking for that comment. "Guns ? Ain't got nary a one. Bubba dun stolded most of mine, and the rest were lost in the flodnadozard of '93"
  14. Saw this coming last year when they were testing drones in TX http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/Arling ... 80969.html

  16. Sounds like next years event has a great opportunity to add a charity 50/50 raffle to me. Participants pay for a *chance* to win the pot *if* the drone flies into the airspace *and* winner shoots it down (splitting the pot with event). Otherwise, all proceeds go to event focused charity; If someone who has not paid into the pot shoots down the drone, then all proceeds go to charity. Multiple drones, split the pot.
  17. $8, $1 coupon available at local convenience stores, etc. It was filled to capacity, but fairly small space (~50 +/- tables ??). was so-so. .
  18. Hmmm.. sounds overpowered. I would have thought you would want it to go through one side of the elephant, ratttle a round for a while, and leave the innerds "jello".....Ain't that what the innerdnet sez ?
  19. I buy most of mine from David at the shows. BTW, on some rifle loads yesterday, I tried AA2520 (spherical) for the first time. It meters *very* well. No static cling whatsoever unlike the RL-15 & H4895 (stick) I was also using in my BR-3 powder drop.
  20. Spring Turkey season is not at risk. Check out a few local NWTF banquets, let the banquet chairman know that you are interested in learning how to turkey hunt. You will have a full dance card. http://www.nwtf.org/...0&submit=Submit You can also attend the Cumberland Chapter "Turkey University" hosted at Gander MTN West Knoxville on March 26-27 For details, contact Mark Burdette (865-882-6390).
  21. Web search; similar ballistics. 30-30 - cheaper ammo (unless you reload), a bit flatter trajectory. .35 Rem - slightly bigger hole, 20% heavier bullet ( slightly slower than 30-30). Both in the same relative utility class. Hard to go wrong with either choice. Get both.
  22. It's much more sinister. non-resonant oscillations threaten the fracture the earth's crust. These things are about to toss half a state into space ! IIt's easy to see. They are already slinging blades off!
  23. HAs anyone forwarded this to Maxine Waters ?
  24. Very sad. Similar incident happened in Nashville a few years ago to a singer/song-eriter.
  25. Wish you were closer. I can sweep floors.
