For the boomers, there are few rifles that are as easily and solidly identified with the joys of childhood shooting. Still have and shoot mine 45 years later. First gun for lots of us. It is a perfect kids gun.
  2. He is opinionated on the issue, but it pales in comparison to his other platforms, particularly considering his son Ennis. I beleive Mr. Cosby is reported to have a carry permit obtained after his son's death..
  3. If true, Mr. Cosby has departed from his revered and long-time platform of personal accountability.
  4. Heh. Close enough for the neighbors. For the purists out there, these are not bumblebees. You will rarely see them on a flower (if ever). While black & yellow, these bast**ds are about 2x bumblebee size, solitary, territorial (hang/hover around a specific area) & agressive (chase away ofther insects such as butterflies, and will buzz lawn mowers..imagine their suprise when I shoot them down while on the Cub Cadet). And yes, as Enfield noted, they drill decks very efficiently. Bumblebees are opportunistic, and will occupy a hole, but there will be multiples of them, not solitary.
  5. Its hardwired to the plate in my head (that also serves as tinfoil hat).
  6. This is what I sent to Harwell, Ramsey, and Haslam with a cc to my rep. & sen. I warned them 8 weeks ago not to pull a trick..
  7. Reply (and correction on stats - I had noted 15 of 16) from Rep. Eldridge.
  8. This was my comments to the committee, and a number of other legislators..
  9. Long enough call the plumber
  10. toss a handful of mothballs in its sunning spot.
  11. Somehow, I do not find the justice system to be "safe harbor", So, no. Not without credible charges.
  12. 21 lbs, 10" beard (also with ~2" & ~4" for a triple), 3/4" spurs, opening day on the blind with Dad calling. Earlier in the morning I called a coyote from 300 yards to 20 yards (entertainment after it ran a gobbler off that we were calling in). Will come back for him later. Wind was favorable, and he never saw us.
  13. Not sure what is going on with your side, but I just clicked on the link in your reply & it worked fine. Currently, it is his most recent blog (Friday 3/31/2012 for posterity) http://lastcar.blogspot.com/
  14. Stacey Campfield comments on the issue (including Ramsey opposing the ammendment for those who possess a hunting license) http://lastcar.blogspot.com/2012/03/its-where-not-why.html#comment-form
  15. I figured out that a 6', with the .38, my wadding and the bulk of the walnut media are about 2" low. I think its time to load up some bee loads for my Model 92 lever gun in .45 Colt. <Maude ! The creepy old man next door is playing cowboys & injuns again!>
  16. Here is mine - Sent to C&EA, leadership, my reps, Gov. Haslam, and a few others
  17. using wadcutters ?
  18. Sometimes, they don't really read, but use it for polling data. So, be sure and Include in the "Support <bill #s>" in your email/letter title
  19. My response to Mr. Faulk Dear Sen. Faulk, In reference to the story at http://missouri-news.org/midwest-news/tennessee/firearms-group-excluded-from-talks-on-guns-in-lots-bill/15266 , the term “nuclear facility†is mentioned. In the industry, there are specific meanings to these words, and are dependent upon the regulatory agency, whether it be EPA, NRC, DOE, or NNSA, and even in some cases international terminology applies in regards to IAEA Safeguards Agreement Facility Attachments and Additional Protocol agreements. In short, - just having a radioactive source or even radioactive source material, or a process or research or waste disposal does not necessarily qualify a facility as “nuclearâ€. There are specific isotopes and specific levels per isotope involved. - Just because a site contains a bona-fide nuclear facility does not mean that the entire site is as also designated as †nuclearâ€; there may be many non-nuclear facilities and activities contained within the boundaries of the overall site, and several layers of physical and personnel security involved. Please advise as to what is really meant by the phrase contained within your bill, and its intent. Warmest regards,
  20. because for most guys, most days, its as good as it gonna get. Yes, I ride, and I "blip" just to feel the rumble (6" RoadHouse Classic on mine). Most of the time, at that moment, that bike is my best friend ever.
  21. I am on the end of a street that passes through a subdivision. About 20 years ago, I built the house, and very quickly put up a ham radio tower on my hill-top lot. The HOA nazis got bad butt-hurt over it, and harrassed me, threatened suits, grumbled about me among my neighbors. I tolerated it for about 1-1/2 yrs until getting tired of it, whereupon I pointed out that we were outside the HOA boundary by over 100 yd. The developer had never incorporated my section. Oops. Yeah. I *had* done my homework before purchase. I still periodically get flyers asking for HOA dues.
  22. The last I bought was years ago at Ace Hardware, but you may find it at Grainger on Baum Dr.
  23. a carpenter bee & a yellow-jacket so far. 3.0 gr AA#2 is operating fine on the revolver, however 2.5 gr is not sufficiently hot enough to prevent primer backout.
