Employee Safe Commute (Parking Lot) Campaign
R_Bert replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Life long Republican, voted every election since 1979. They have pretty much managed to flip me to the other side with the lack of integrity shown this year.. I participated this year, in numerous dialogues with legislators on a several issues. I did not ask them for a particular vote, only that they allow the process to complete. They and their leadership failed. The Democrats at least admit to what they believe. So, at the state level, I will not be voting Republican this November 2012. There is no difference, so I will vote to toss them every election for the forseeable future. http://www.knoxnews....es-to-kill-gun/ -

The basic answer - "it's none of your business". Maybe, it's classified. Since the subject is closed, I cannot ask why the "secret ballot" was necessary in the first place. I trust the political capital lost in this vote is worth it in the long run for the Republican Party. -
+1. I have six different models of KT, and yes, a few have had to go back. Ultimately, I am happy & satisfied by KT support and performance.

However, he *is* subject to election as Speaker of the Tennessee Senate and this position is selected by your local senators each legislative session. Put pressure on them. Tell them to vote "NO" on Ron! It will cost him ~$48K per year in salary. -

I thought I didn't have any, but....alas, I do. In August of 1992 (pre-cell phone), I was fishing Douglas Lake, and had put in at the ramp at Cowboys Seafood Resturant ($5 at the time, I think). After a long, hot, windy, wave-runner frustrated day, I was glad to get off the water. I put the boat on the trailer, and pulled up to the top, just across the lane from the front door of the resturant. It wouldn't take long to stow my tackle bag, and cinch down the boat. I was looking forward to cooling off, so I left the truck running with the AC on. Five minutes later, I finished securing the boat, and went to hop in to leave. Uh-OH. Truck locked ! No problem, I thought, I have spare keys in my tackle bag (which I always toss in the bed of the truck). Went to get. Not there! THIS time, I had tossed the bag in the cab, AND LOCKED THE DOORS! Did I mention I was parked in the front door of the resturant ?? With the truck running ?? No money, no ID, no keys, no phone, nothing...but a really stupid look on my very sunburned face, and a Friday Evening crowd gathering at the bar. I tried to get the resturant manager to call home, but instead, they called the cops. It took over an hour for a sherriff's deputy to get there, and he said "I can't help you. call a locksmith!". (%%$$%#!) Finally, some enterprising (and very entertained) customer displayed his (criminally derived ?) knowledge, and instructed me in how to break into the truck (he supplied tools and watched). Two & a half hours into the ordeal, I finally accessed my vehicle, and drove off in shame. Never went back to Douglas Lake. (I still drive the truck, pushing 300K mi, but it always used oil after that day)

Not Nashville area, but Dad and I have seen 2 birds on NCWMA since opening day (inc. the one I killed). On private lands, I have seen 8 in the last week (inc. 4 today). Seems like I recall many more overall last year. Supposedly, Anderson & Campbell county have not seen many hogs so far. Has anyone been seeing turkey on LBL this season ? Edit to add - http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/apr/21/bob-hodge-talk-of-slow-turkey-season-doesnt-the/ (I hate it when statistics disagree with my observations....)

I shot about 100 rounds through Keltec RMR-30 Serial #1 a few weeks ago (as noted above, .22 Mag). It is actually an impressive shooter, and I would love to have one. This one has had several updates, but I hear the production models will be even better B.

ThePeoplesCar - I am running out of car brands to choose from (no bailout, no buying gun-votes). http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/apr/17/volkswagen-speaks-out-against-guns-in-parking/?partner=popular -

R_Bert replied to glowdotGlock's topic in General Chat
Just me, but *wife* OK, anyone else outside of blood (and only a maybe on these...mom, dad, siblings).....not so much. For me, she had to walk the aisle to get the combo (and a crap load of other stuff). It ain't about trust, it's about committment. -
Valuable info, and conclusion - That for my purposes, I am aligning with in favor of CDMA (especially for data) Thanks for *All* insight. You have no idea how important and timely this is. Bert

Yeah, I am mostly wanting mobile broadband as a last resort backup. Tether off the Android phone is attractive, but as I need to have capability to keep voice and data seperate, I am also looking at a second service agreement for data alone. For that side of plans, I have not decided on hotspot, ipad/tablet(which will tether also), or a netbook/laptop that is mobile data enabled.

Thanks, IIn my search, I will look closer at T-Mobile services
