  1. I carry a shotgun and rifle with me. I use heavy shot T because it works great. #4 shot turkey load at close range works good. Make sure you pattern your shotgun with the load your going to use. As far as calls go, any rabbit distress will work. Remember no 2 rabbits sound the same when being eating. As long as you make the call sound like its dying you can get the attention of a coyote. I use jackrabbit sounds and we don't have any around here but to them its something dying and an easy meal.
  2. Is that a deer track next to it? Looks like it.
  3. Looks like a deer track beside it also.
  4. Wish I new about this a week ago. I would have taken off and went.
  5. Here it is mounted on my Howa Ranchland 243
  6. I bought the camera separate. It's a Kodak play sport HD. It pairs real nice with the gun mount.
  7. I found this cool product at the NWTF Convention. It's a video camera mount for your shotgun or bow. I ordered one and got it in yesterday. I can't wait to film a turkey hunt with it or get a coyote on film with my shotgun. It seems to be built pretty solid and mounts to my shotgun very easily. Figured I would share, maybe some of you would like to get that moment on film. It's made by Smokin Rack Products and it's called the FlexCam. Here are some pics of it mounted on my Mossberg 835.
  8. Also if its the Flextone e-caller you cant use them on fox.
  9. Guess I need to start mushroom hunting if they sell for that much. Although it would take a lot to make a pound.
  10. Small game season ended Feb. 28. This includes fox unless you live in Dyer, Lauderdale or Wilson county.
  11. I seen a few mushrooms while out clearing the trail. They were very small though.
  12. Thanks! Maybe we could meet up and go kill some coyotes in the near future.
  13. Happy birthday Dave. You only look 99 lol.
  14. Your right they had some real thick pelts.
  15. I have several places in Rutherford County and surrounding counties. Mostly I hunt in the Milton area.
  16. It was a mojo critter. The call and decoy was about 30 yards out in front of us. There was a pile of brush I put the external speaker up high in it so the sound would carry farther. The first coyote came out into the open field and the other one came down the field edge.
  17. I hope so. Anytime I can take the future hunters out I will.
  18. Although funny this is a hunting forum and the topic is a valid one. Lots of people have problems with beavers on their land. They can cost land owners lots of money each year to the land in damages. The OP was asking how he could get rid of them. The derailment comes from the innapropriate comments.
  19. Nice furs on them rabbits.
  20. Let's keep this on topic and not derail this thread thanks.
  21. I took a really good friend and his son out on a coyote hunt. Been having some good luck and he asked if I could take him and his boy. We went out last Sunday evening called in 2 coyotes and he got a shot on a beautiful black male. Made a great shot at around 115 yards with a 223 single shot. We had a great time and I really enjoyed seeing him and his son smile. Nothing like taking people out hunting and enjoying time with friends and especially with young ones. His son thought the hunt was awesome and is begging me to take them again so he can get his first coyote. Hs son still has a lot to learn first but he will get there. You can see he had his sons gun and an SKS in the photo lol. We set up in a very large field with them in a blind and I was sitting in some brush running the calls. The first coyote came into about 300 yards and didn't like what it seen so he ran off. 10 minutes later this guy came in stopped and sat down and watched the decoy. Micheal made a great shot and he ran about 15 yards. The calls I was using were DSG Cottontail, Agressive male, some pup distress and some jackrabbit distresses. Oh and I used a few other coyote vocals.
