Ive been seeing a lot of deer as well.

I wanna go to Florida and hunt hogs.

I have killed several deer with a 223 rifle. While it can be effective I do like bigger calibers. With the right bullet and shot placement the 223 will kill deer. Its just not my first choice since I have bigger calibers in the safe.

I'm really eyeballing the Bushnell Trophy TRS-25. From the reviews it seems it would hold up to the recoil. Anyone have any luck with the sight? I'm trying not to spend a whole lot of money.

I dropped off the 44 mag and the mount to my friend. Should have it back on Monday. Can't wait to see it.

Got my Weigand base in today. Having my buddy drill and tap the receiver this week. Guess I need to figure out an optic.

I have looked at several different scopes. I agree 4 power is to much. I'm really thinking hard about using a red dot of some sort. I'm gonna keep the MOA dot to 2 or 1. I'm not going to shoot over 100 yards and most of my shots are 60 to 70 yards anyway. As far as loads go not sure yet what I'm gonna use. I have been eye balling Buffalo bores deer grenade. Thanks for the info everyone.

I plan on handgun hunting this year so I went out done some tradin and picked me up a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag. Kinda curious if anyone else handgun hunts with a 44 mag. If so what scope, round and etc. do you use? Since it doesn't have the slots for scope rings I've elected to have it drilled and tapped. I thought about the weaver no drill mount but too many mixed reviews. I ordered a Weigand scope mount base and I have a friend who can drill and tap the Ruger. I haven't done a whole lot of handgun hunting so I'm excited already for deer season. I will probably use the handgun pretty much the whole gun season, so any recommendations on setup will be appreciated.

Yep brown snake. I find them all the time around my moms house. I had one when I was younger that layed eggs. Only 2 hatched and they look nothing like they do when grown.

May sound gross but I have poached them in water for a few minutes than stick them in the freezer. This method works good as well. I checked my trees the other day and I didnt see any.

I have 3 trees on my property. I usually freeze them. They make good fish bait.

A lot of people dont hunt coyotes in the summer due to the heat. Some of the best calling is during the summer months. I have killed many coyotes during this time.

Maybe its just me but I've been hunting deer since I was old enough to carry a gun and eating deer since I was a baby. Im not worried about it and never thought about it. I would imagine that most of the "contaminated" meat came from the wound area. I dont take my deer to a processor anyway. I do everything myself so I know what cut meats I have and what area they come from. I try and stay away from the major wound area.

I feel bad for the family and that poor dog. Wow is all I can say.

I have read other states hunting regs and they can be confusing. He should have checked and double checked. A mistake yes and could have been avoided but to launch a federal investigation is just crazy. Besides it shouldn't have taken 4 years of taxpayers dollars either.

I agree and the weather could have been better.

I harvested 3 birds. Called in a couple for some friends also. My daughter didnt get one, came close but we still had fun. Overall I had an awesome season and a great time.
