  1. Well its easy to print money that ain't yours.
  2. not to get to far off topic. Just don't kill any game fish.
  3. First off you do have a long draw, I am only 28 ha ha I have short arms. I sold my crossbow and went back to a compound bow. I like a crossbow but the more I used it I decided it wasn't for me. My main reason is if you don't pull the string back evenly your bolt will not fly true. Also when hunting from a stand I have had bolts come off and fall to the ground when trying to shoot a deer (The deer was only 15 feet under my stand). Maybe I just suck with a crossbow but any who just not for me. There are some good things about them though. I liked it when hunting in a ground blind don't have to draw back and spook an animal. Crossbows are fast as heck also. I had the Horton HD 175 and could shoot out to 35 yards on my first dot. Just go and shoot one and see how well you like the feel. Good crossbows are just as high as some compound bows.
  4. Oh man I am so sorry. My family will keep you and your family in our prayers.
  5. Also when you shoot a turkey with a bow don't get in a big hurry to get it unless it drops dead. I shot one last year and it was flopping around I got out of my blind and ran up to it and the damn thing started to fly away. I chased that thing around for 30 minutes trying to shoot it again. My buddy was laughing the whole time and didn't even help. I felt kinda bad for the turkey. Come to find out I made a good shot but those birds are tough as nails. I guess you learn the hard way. I have killed several birds with my bow and that was this incident was the first. Just something to keep in mind. Maybe someone else on here has experienced the same thing.
  6. Yeah I would and have deer hunted areas I have coyote hunted. Coyotes will but not often kill a grown deer. Coyotes are onmivores they do eat meat and berries and are mostly scavangers eating on dead, young, sick or wounded prey. I have also seen coyotes and deer in the woods at the same time and the deer payed little attention to him. I am not saying coyotes won't kill if they are starving. If the food source is good then there is going to be a good balance.
  7. Yeah that would be baiting and trapping with illegal traps.
  8. I believe baiting coyotes is illegal.
  9. I'm trying to find a good place here in Murfreesboro to go. I mostly hunt in Perry County (Linden). Hey I am willing to go.
  10. Well here is some of my coyote calling gear, had to dig everything out since deer season is over. I am going next weekend. This will take up some time until turkey season opens, then after thats over I will be back at it again.
  11. +1 on the muzzy's. Key is shot placement.
  12. There is a youth hunting club in Perry County were young hunters can win prizes such as guns, etc...Well I think it is still there.
  13. I hunted many years with a Weatherby Vanguard 7mm and I have shot alot of deer at close range and never had a problem with the bullet doing that much damage. Yeah it was a little more but my 06 and 270 have done worse. I guess it depends on load/bullet and what angle.
  14. I think different geographical areas require different types of hunting rifles. I use a Browning Lever Action 308. It is short so I can use it as a "brush gun" or a long distance gun. I have shot it out to 400 yards at a paper target and the results were awsome about a 3 or 4 inch group at 400 yards not bad considering I was using a coat and the hood of my truck as a shooting rest. As far as top guns I would also say 30-30 or 30-06 then 270 my top 3.
  15. huh no real complaints here.
  16. If not you could always have it reamed and threaded for one.
  17. HA HA HA that is great!!! He should get that poor dog a real girl friend.
  18. I told my dad about it and he said in Michigan a guy killed a goat thinking it was an albino deer.
